I rarely write reviews, but my experience with the auto service at Canadian Tire was frustrating enough to warrant it. Back in November, I brought my vehicle in to swap from summer to winter tires, and asked them to patch a flat summer tire during the switch $60. I assumed this was done properly. Fast forward to July, I have my summer tires reinstalled, only to find my tire still has a flat. Clearly, it was never patched correctly--if at all. Instead of owning the mistake, they charged me again for another patch, bringing my total to over $100 for one unresolved flat. To make matters worse, Mike (the manager) was completely unhelpful, offering no accountability or explanation, and Andre seemed totally clueless about what was going on. Not sure Andre would even know how to tie his own shoes if someone asked him to. The whole experience felt like dealing with amateurs. I expected better from a national chain like Canadian Tire. I won't be trusting them with my vehicle again--and I'd strongly recommend others think twice before doing so. read more

Came in to shop on a busy day, The store was clean and appeared to be well-stocked. We found all that we were looking for, and a few things we didn't. The 3 cashiers that were working were friendly and helpful. We paid at the customer service area, and overall, a very positive experience. read more

So I went into Canadian Tire Whitby north auto service on Nov 13 for my confirmed appointment tire changeover and wheel alignment. I've been using this tire service for the past 4 years and have been storing my tires with them for 4 years. So I got there 15 minutes early like they said but still waited in line for 15 minutes. At the desk I told the staff I'm canceling the wheel alignment and that I only selected it because the online booking system recommended it with a tire changeover. I said it was not necessary at this time. I also said that I would not be storing my summer tires. This staff turned to Michael, the service manager for directions to proceed with my request. Michael, with a straight face and arrogance, said that since I am canceling the wheel alignment, he did not have the time (his exact words) to change my tires. Now remember I have an appointment. I asked, "are you saying that you have the time to do the 2 services (changeover and alignment) but not the time to do only 1 of those services?" Still with a straight face, Michael the service manager said that's correct. He went on to explain that 2 different technicians perform the work so either both are available or none are available. He said the online booking system only gave me the appointment because I selected the 2 services (that's a lie). Make this make sense! Anyway, as Michael "didn't have the time" for me I ended up not having my tires changed. I went back to the location a few hours later to pick up my stored tires, like Michael suggested. Needless to say, I'm done with Canadian Tire auto services, obviously never storing my tires with them again, AND canceling the Triangle Mastercard, which is pointless to have at this point. After having a flat tire repaired, they refused to put the winter tire back on the vehicle without an appointment , sending my wife home in a storm. A five minute job to ensure safety and satisfaction. Absolutely disgusting customer service! Will not be giving any more of my money to this company! read more

Terrible customer service and lack of communication with customers in the Auto Service Department at the south Whitby Canadian Tire on Consumers Drive. There is a big lack of honesty and there are various attempts to charge you for services that are supposed to be free or charging you for repairs that are not necessary. They also will cause damage to your car that they will then charge you to fix just to generate more revenue for the department. If you are looking for honesty, this is the not the place to take your car even for an oil change. read more

Friendly staff and has what is advertised; even the items on line; stocks are pretty up to date and staff actually try to help you find an item! Its near work so I pop in at lunch and hardly go to the one near home. read more

Normal Canadian tire store - if you're looking at which one to go to in Whitby - I have two tips: The store here at consumers has a much better toy section than the one up at garden and Taunton. That said the pricing is different for the auto service at each store. I came in to get an older tire rimmed and they charged $30 per tire down here vs $20 up north at other location. After many years of shopping at this store, I will never enter that place again. Wife wanted a Bissell remote vacuum, so I bought it when it was on sale. After trying it, and deciding it was worth the money for our house (it would probably work great in a large room with no furniture), I decided to return it. Lady at costumer service checked the vacuum, which was repackaged as it was when I purchased it. She asked if anything was wrong with it, I told her that it wasn't good for our house. She asked if it was used, I told her once. She said, policy is if the package is opened and it was used, no refund. I said, really, so now I have to keep something that's useless for my house. I told her that I will never shop at that store again. I also checked Canadian Tire policy online for returns, and it said, if they can resell it, you can get a refund. To bad Canadian Tire can't have costumer service like Costco and Walmart. It's sad!!! read more

My diesel van had stopped running shortly after starting due to the brutally cold nigh of 01/20 and I had to get it towed to a garage as my suspicions were a frozen fuel system (I'm a retired mechanic) I phoned Duffs Towing who gave excellent prompt, professional service. I tried several CTC stores in Pickering but no one would help, there reply was we don't work on Diesels! All I required was inside parking (and I was prepared to pay for this) The Driver from Duffs said lets go to CTC in Whitby they are a good store i'm sure they will help. We arrived at the store explained the situation and they said they do not work on diesels however they would accommodate my request for inside parking. I purchased Diesel fuel anti gel additive from CTC and added the required amount to the fuel system and let the vehicle sit for three hours, then it started first turn of the key!. I paid my bill to CTC who were most generous in what they charged me, much lower than I had anticipated. So thank you to the staff of CTC who helped me and to Duffs Towing! read more

Do not trust their wait times. I was told it was going to take an hour and a half for my car, so I decided to just wait there. Over 3 hours later and I was finally out of there. Wasted half my day off there. Service was good though so I gave 2 stars read more

Avoid!! - Horrible - incompetent and inconsiderate to customers. I had tires in to be mounted and got the call they were done and to pick them up. Got there and watched them fight their computer system for 75 minutes before they sent me home without my tires. They could not satisfy their computer. Came back the next day and same thing for 45 minutes. Finally got out with the tires at full cost after 2 wasted hours and 1 wasted trip - all their fault (admitted). Offered nothing for their screw up - will never go back!! read more

Never received my wheels(Online order ) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ordered a set of four wheels to be picked up from whitby canadian store.Paid in full at checkout and here is what happened to me. 19-Nov,5PM------- Received an email saying my order is ready to be picked up. 20 Nov,8AM------- I arrived at the store to find no one at the online pickup counter. I waited for 10 minutes. 20 Nov, 8:10 AM-- I went to the normal counter and waited in the queue for few minutes. Talked to the lady at the counter about picking up online order. They searched for my order for about 10 minutes but could not find it. They said since this wheels i should try in the automative section.The lady was kind enough to accompany me to the counter 20 Nov,8:20 AM--- The gentleman at the counter asked me if i would like to book an appointment to change wheels and the earliest he can do is dec-3. I asked him if he can do on a weekend instead since i need my car on weekdays. He suddenly seemed to become unhappy and said that i will need to wait since he is attending other customers. I was surprised because it was their suggestion to book the appointment in the first place. Eitherways i waited for another 10 minutes before he called up someoneelse to attend me. 20 Nov,8:30 AM-- The person looked up my order and said he will go check and comeback. After 10 minutes he came back and told me that the order was never delivered to their location and might take 2-3 days. I showed him the email which said the order is delivered and he seemed to have no clue. He said he is unable to help and said the store will give me a call after 3 days once the wheels get delivered. 20 Nov, 8.45 AM-- I called the customer care in the online order email and they looked up and said the wheels were indeed delivered yesterday. 20 Nov, 9AM------ I went to the person i was talking to first(non automative) since she seems to be the only approachable person and told her what i was told by customer care.She said they will check. 20 Nov,9.10 AM---- The lady checked for sometime and apologized and said that the order did arrive but was damaged(!!!!!) and so i won't be able to pick it up. She said they can try to get it from another store but that might not happen immediately. 20 Nov,9.15 AM---- I told her i wanted to speak with the store manager and he repeated the same story. 20 Nov,9:30 AM---- I got a refund and was out of the store by 9:30(lost my credit card at the store in between which was entirely my fault and the helpful lady did find it for me) I was totally pissed off because it took them about 75 minutes to let me know that my order is damaged. I honestly don't believe a single word about this being damaged and i think either of the below is what happened a) The order was never delivered and the email was sent before that, b) The store did not have resources to retrieve from their warehouse,c) They sold my wheels to someone else and realized later it was meant to be mine! This is a total disgrace to a customer when canadian tire came up with conflicting theories(lies) and no effort to genuinely help me. I am still without my winter wheels!! I did online order because i thought it will be the most time effective thing to do but as can be seen above it is apparently not. I will never do online order at canadian tire and will definitely not go to the whitby store. Sent two emails to customer care and no reply after 1 week, I wish i had an option to give 0 stars here read more
