He came twice to the house, spoke with my husband and I and assured us that the work could be done while we were away for a one week vacation. He promised that the bedroom floors would match the hallway color and gloss and that the house would be ready for painting and installation of a carpet runner upon our return. He gave us a bid and, while not the lowest bid we received, we decided to go with him as he was recommended by a friend. About mid way through our vacation, I texted Marco to inquire how the job was coming. Marco exclaimed that they forgot to do the steps, but assured me that they would be done when we returned in three days. Upon our return we found the company van parked on our curbside, which was muddy and full of deep tire tracks. Inside the house we found that the bedroom floors did not match the hallway gloss, a patch needed to be done in one room and the wood was a different grain and color ( looks horrible!), a new doorway saddle was installed which also did not match in color and the work on the stairs was substandard - they didn't clean out the caulk and stained right over the lumpy bumpy mess. Our painter spent considerable time cleaning the corners out and restraining the wood under that caulk before painting. On top of all of that, his employees had removed the tape we had placed over the doors to our master bed and bath. Someone had deficated in the toilet of our marble bath, tried to unplug the toilet with the toilet brush and had splashed feces all over the bathroom. Marco came to the house, was argumentative and rude - denying any responsibility for anything. He lied about telling us that the color and gloss of the floors would match and his employees lied about having soiled our bathroom. Wish we had not hired this company. Lesson learned - be wary who you trust in your home. Worst home renovation experience ever!

In addition, he applied wrong poly finish from what we agreed to use. While I fully understood there would be some paint damage as I have been through this process before, the damage done was excessive and purely due to the laziness of his workers. Instead of apologizing, Marco got nasty me and said it is what it is. He may seem like a nice guy at first, but don't be fooled.
