After being referred to Armando Moreno by our friend/real estate agent (whom we sincerely trust), we contracted him to paint the entire apartment (top to bottom, bathrooms, hallways, closets, ceilings, everything) and sand/refinish the wood floors. He gave us a VERY competitive price (we got quotes from a few other local contractors) and he assured my wife and I would be very pleased at the end. After 6 days, he had the entire place DONE. The apartment looks BRAND NEW. No exaggeration...it literally looks like a new apartment. We didn't expect the floors to look much different than before, but the wood looks brand new now. I wish I took a "before/after" photo to compare. Armando, his sons, and his team were so meticulous with the entire job. Armando told me he loves what he does and it realllly shows in his work. He also told me he treats every job as if he was working on his own home and after seeing what he did to our home, it's evident. Dealing with Armando was very easy and refreshing. After chatting with him for a bit, I had no doubt I was dealing with a man of good morals, who was honest, and a true professional. At the end of the day, he's a family man that wants to take care of his family. So when he says he will do the job right, he WILL. Wish I could give Moreno and sons 100 stars. No, 1,000,000 stars. I almost never feel compelled to write reviews...this is only my 2nd one since signing up for Yelp. But after Armando and his crew completed work on our apartment, I felt it was necessary to let others know about him. They are thorough, neat and creative, truly a pleasure to have around the house. Most recently, he just finished a job turning an unused screened in porch into a TV room, and it is AMAZING! It absolutely looks like we put a new addition on the house. I don't think you would find any contractor that is more conscientious - and no one would leave your house without a spec of dust at the end of a day filled with major construction. He gave me what I considered to be a fair price per square foot (based on my research of average pricing for wood floor refinishing) over the phone and was able to meet me that same day to get exact measurements. He was very accommodating to my schedule understanding that I wasn't currently living in the apartment and needed some extra travel time. The meeting was efficient and painless. He asked all the right questions and did not waste my time. He took down my email address and told me that he would email me the estimate. I needed this job to be done asap and he assured me that he could start the work on Monday and be done in 2 days. Sure enough later that evening he sent me the estimate via email. The ONLY reason why I went with another service provider is because I happened to get a referral from a very close friend the next day otherwise I would of DEFINITELY gone with NY Floorman. Richard was the only person to send me estimated costs in advance, provide me with images to consider finishes before hand. He was on time to the initial site meeting to take measurements and provide a detailed estimate. He was approachable, replied to emails quickly and gave me a sense of confidence that won him the job. I eliminated one company for missing the initial meeting (he called to say he'd be 2 hours late - this is unacceptable to me). I had them remove a partial wall, patch what was left over, and sand and refinish the floors. The guys on the site were great, punctual and reliable. They provided on site samples of the finishes for me to make a selection. (I would ask for this in advance if you want to see multiple colors/tones). The job took 4 days from start to finish, and was completed on time, as promised. Richard's price was competitive and the work was well done. They were respectful and listened to my concerns, described the work in detail and let me know what they would work on each day. I feel confident in recommending them to anyone. I will consult them again when I am ready to do more work. They are great.
