They interacted with all the kids so well, especially the birthday girl. I cannot express how impressed I am by the service I received by Courtney. She was incredibly kind with a room full of curious toddlers but also fulfilled her role as Mickey Mouse so well. We have also been to several events where Candie's characters was doing face painting and had characters. The face painting was adorable and a big hit! There is a big selection of characters to choose from, popular and not so popular. Plus there are mermaids for pool parties which are great for our hot Arizona summer birthday parties! They offer games, face painting and balloon twisting as well. Their prices are lower than most of the other companies, especially for how much they offer! And they travel all over the valley! For the cost of their services, it was not worth it ($265 for 1.5 hours). I expected something much more professional. They were unable to paint many of the children's requests. The characters of Minnie and Mickey were not authentic and the interaction with the children was not genuine. Not professional at all and borderline being extremely rude. Attempted to Call on several occasions but voicemail was full. Finally texted for a price quote for a children's holiday event for 2 hours for 5 characters. After 24 hours received a text that only said "Not interested". When I asked what they meant there has never been a response. There is a much better way of treating customers. If you are booked or do not have the characters I would understand but a rude comment followed by being ignored is not acceptable. read more

Candie's customer service is great, she is quick to respond, understood where I was coming from and issued a fair refund. My complaint was I rented Ryder, he did balloon animals.. could maybe make 3 different ones and had no idea. He didn't entertain the kids, I felt like I had to give him things to do. I'm not happy with those services and he was 15 minutes late. I also asked him to go along with my daughter giving her Pacis in a box. All he had to do was take them and he forgot them! We have had this planned.. all he had to do was walk out and put them in a trash can??? But he left them so my daughter was so upset! After reading all of these great reviews for Candies Characters I am even more let down! A few weeks ago my son asked if we could call Batman. He said his number was 10-9-8-7-6. I thought it was so cute, so we called Batman (aka his dad who was upstairs). His face lit up talking to Batman on the phone and my son proceeded to invite Batman to his birthday party that was to be in a few weeks and Batman accepted the invite. So I set up Batman to come through Candies Characters for 2 hours to my sons birthday party, but I didnt tell him. Well, today was my sons 4th birthday party and Batman was suppose to come for 2 hours. We didn't tell him or his 2 older brothers that he was coming. I guess that's a good thing since he DIDN'T SHOW UP!! Apparently Batman's car broke down and he text me to tell me he was unable to come after the party had already started. I get that things out of our control happen, but there should have been a back up plan in place for these kinds of situations. I was really looking forward to his face when he saw Batman! If no stars or even negative stars were an option, that's what I would select. My company hired Candie's Characters for our annual Halloween Open House on Sat. Oct. 26th, one of our biggest community events of the year. We hired 4 costumed characters + a face painter for 3 hours. Candie the owner confirmed on Oct. 8th that she would send Ariel, Wonder Woman, Batman & Captain America + a Face Painter for our event. We promoted the event heavily on social media and got a great response. The day before our event, I e-mailed & texted her to double confirm that the characters would be there the next day. Never got a response from her. I called her cell phone (the number you see on her webpage) and it went straight to voicemail, but the mailbox was full so I could not leave a message (I told her the voicemail box was full back on Oct. 8th). Long story short, no one showed up & she never EVER responded to my ever more frantic pleas for confirmation that her "characters" were coming. People started to line up around 9:30. Cute little kids in costumes, excited parents waiting with anticipation. We eventually had to tell them all that the characters weren't coming, it was horrible. When she finally responded via text at 12:45 pm, almost 3 hours after our event began, she said & I quote, "Find someone else, sheesh." No excuses, and certainly no apologies. She primarily does kids parties and I say folks beware don't subject your kids to this potential for major disappointment. unprofessional, unreliable & unrepentant. I don't know how she stays in business. Stay away! read more
