I like candy. No, I love candy. I had to check it out, as it was new to me since I was last at this outlet mall. I saw Cookie Monster's Foodie Truck. It was a game that emphasized cooperation. He looked so cute on the box. It was nice seeing jigsaw puzzles, taffy, and gum on the same display table. So much fun! It took me a long time to look at a wall with jerky and popcorn. It was my first time seeing caviar-flavoured jerky. The popcorn varieties were incredible. Whisky caramel stood out from the artisan kettle corn collection. I spotted Smuckers and Jif peanut butter and jelly Pop popcorn. I had to get a bag. There was a lot to look at. This store had a bunch of scratch-and-sniff stickers, both stinky and cheerful scents. I got a couple of Dairy Milk bars that were imported from New Zealand and Australia. The pink lemonade and chocolate malt flavours sounded yummy, so I got one of each. I waited in line to pay for my items. I liked looking at Care Bears fuzzy backpacks and beverages in the corner. An older woman, who was at the checkout, was friendly and thanked me for waiting. She asked me if I needed a bag. I declined, as I had a bag full of purchases with me. I said that the popcorn and chocolate bars wouldn't last long. She laughed. I was right. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and the transaction was complete. I placed my items in my bag, thanked her, and left. The Dairy Milk bars were delicious. I loved the pink lemonade and malt flavours. I devoured both back in my hotel room within a couple of days. The peanut butter and jelly popcorn was excellent. The grape jelly flavour was perfect with the peanut butter, as you'd expect from this combination. I just wish that the popcorn bag came in a larger size. This store was a great find. A man greeted me and offered me a milk chocolate truffle. Like a moth to a flame, I took it from him without any hesitation, unwrapped it, and popped it in my mouth. Pure heaven! I browsed around, looking at everything. Moments later, this helpful man asked if he could be of any assistance. I asked him whether he had the no-sugar-added line of chocolates. He nodded and showed me the chocolates that went by the pound that were individually wrapped. There were also no-sugar-added bars. I needed a plastic bag. I had to ask this man for help. He was kind and got me one. Yay! I did a mixed bag of dark and milk no-sugar-added chocolates. I also got raspberry vanilla and milk chocolate popcorn. I went up to the counter to pay for my items. He let me know that there was a sale on thin milk chocolate bars. It was a reflex reaction for me to say yes to anything chocolate. I paid with a credit card. The transaction was smooth. He placed everything in a bag. I thanked him and happily left with my goodies. It was hot in Winnipeg. I made sure that my chocolates didn't melt on me. Air conditioning in the car? Check? Air conditioning at the apartment? Check? Take chocolate on the plane home to Toronto? Yes. I finished the thin milk chocolate bars before I headed home. They were just like the milk chocolate truffles, but in a different shape. I highly recommend the raspberry vanilla if you love raspberry with a subtle hint of vanilla in your chocolate. I felt fancy and my tastebuds were happy. The milk chocolate popcorn is my new favourite chocolate. If you are a popcorn fan, it's elevated with a popcorn morsel enrobed in Lindt milk chocolate. I'm drooling. Ugh! These chocolates travel well. I recommend taking them with you on the plane. They are valuable. Guard them with your life. I loved shopping here. The assortment boxes for about $40 are a great way to discover favourites of your own. The store/mall gets ridiculous packed on weekends so if you can get there during the week you'll have much more time and elbow room to peruse.

While driving by the other day, we decided to stop in to pick up some loose tea. We are so glad we did! The staff was super friendly and the space was so bright and updated. It was definitely a nice surprise. It wasn't a very busy day so we looked around and decided to buy a new kettle and other goodies to go with our loose tea. The new coffee bar is definitely something to take note of. A dedicated bar with a few tables for seating really make up this space for all it was lacking. We hit it off and to this day, we remain good friends. She hailed from Calgary. She got me into Bernard Callebaut, a Belgian chocolatier who has been in Calgary for decades. She brought me a small copper box after having visited Calgary over the weekend and I was hooked. The assortment of Belgian chocolate that she got me was yummy, creamy, and special. While living in the States, I still went to see my dentist twice a year in Winnipeg, in the River Heights area of the city. I used to live in this part of town before I moved to Osborne Villiage. The deadly part about seeing my dentist was dropping by this Bernard Callebaut next door afterwards. So much for keeping my teeth clean. Thirty minutes later, I was devouring chocolates! This store is bright and inviting. Various chocolates are nicely displayed behind glass. You can either choose specific ones (the dark chocolate orange and coconut ones are my favourite, but there isn't really a bad chocolate at this place), or make things easier by picking up a copper box. Each copper box has an assortment of white, dark, and milk chocolates that seem delicate, but pack a ton of flavour when you have them. These copper boxes come in various sizes to suit your budget and sweet tooth. They are also great for gift-giving. You can also get chocolate in the shape of letters. They always looked cool to me. Staff here were always pleased to see me, mainly because I was a regular customer back then and ended up getting a few boxes to take back with me back to Rochester. They were always kind, helped me with any questions that I had, and made sure that my purchases were safely packed for my plane ride. There used to be a Bernard Callebaut in Etobicoke a good decade ago. It has since closed. The last time I was at a Bernard Callebaut store was in Ottawa in 2015. It was located steps away from my hotel in ByWard Market. I ended up bringing back a stash for me and a bag of milk chocolate-covered pretzels for my colleagues. This bag was gone within half an hour of my sharing it with them. One person, a vegetarian, loved them so much that she kept the empty bag. These days, Bernard Callebaut offers ruby chocolate. Yum! I am tempted to place an order online. Currently, shipping is free across Canada when you buy $50 worth of chocolate. All stores are closed due to COVID-19. I am thrilled that this Bernard Callebaut store is still around. I have nothing but positive, fond memories of buying chocolate here, having some, and sharing some with folks. It is the best Belgian chocolate. Parking by this store can be a bit tricky. You either can park at the 7-Eleven lot next door or along Queenston, and then walk over. She went to the store and brought be back a box which was a beautiful green box. Inside there were 12 chocolates. I love mint; mint and chocolate, mint tea, peppermints, and one of these really satisfies my craving for mint! Each piece isn't large but enough for 2 or 3 bites to savour the melt in my mouth taste. I'm not sure the price of the box but I'm guessing it was reasonable. I wish I could buy more of these without having to travel to Winnipeg but now I have a reason to visit there!
