It was delicious! The Kimchi and sauce they bring to the table before the meal were so tasty. In fact, they helped make my Seafood pancake meal tastier. The seafood pancake meal is packed with a bit of vegetables and a lot of eggs and seafood BUT without salt or those sauces it's kind of bland. The next morning (April 19th), my mom called the restaurant to express concern that the salads may have caused us to feel unwell. When my mom explained that we had all gotten sick after eating at the restaurant, the first thing the manager said was that Stella's only uses the freshest ingredients. My mom clarified that she wasn't calling to make demands, but simply to report that we had all eaten the same meal at their restaurant and felt ill with similar symptoms shortly afterward. The manager said she would notify the kitchen, hoped we felt better -- and that was it. To add context, my mom and sister have both regularly ordered that same salad from this location in the past without any issues. We understand that illness can happen for many different reasons, and we weren't expecting the restaurant to accept fault without first conducting a proper review. Even so, we had hoped for a response at the outset of the call that reflected care and concern -- one that acknowledged the situation, prioritized guest well-being, and reassured us that it would be taken seriously. While the manager did eventually say she would inform the kitchen, that only came after my mom made it clear she wasn't asking for anything, like a comped meal. Further, while the freshness of Stella's ingredients is relevant given the concerns we raised, for the manager to lead with that -- as her first response to a customer reporting that she and two family members became sick shortly after dining -- came across as defensive rather than empathetic or solution-oriented. It opened in November and has the same bright and colourful feel as the Corydon one though this one feels larger. Menu is the same and staff are friendly and my orders were promptly made as it was quiet mid-week day. I tried the Warrior ($7.49 + $1.99 chicken add on) brown rice, corn, red onions, tomatoes, carrots, black beans, cajun spice, ranch dressing. Feels like I am just eating rice and beans so I would not order this again. Ranch dressing didn't give it much flavour either. Any burrito can be made into a bowl so I chose the Tex Mex ($7.99 + $1.99 chicken add on)brown rice, black beans, corn, avocado, aged cheddar, pico de gallo, salsa. This one had more flavour though a bit more cheese and salsa would be better. Overall, I think the Mediterranean bowl is probably the best one I've had so far. Food is like the namesake, it's fresh for sure and you don't feel heavy and weighed down after eating their food. Everything ends up being around $12 or so after tax (if you add a protein) - a tad more than a classic fast food place but obviously much healthier. Another reason I prefer this location as there's way more parking then the Corydon Village one. :-)
