I have come here twice, once to just buy a candle and the second time for their full make your own candle event. The make your own candle event involves choosing a vessel, choosing a scent, combining your scent with hot wax, adding wicks, and combining it all together. The whole experience maybe takes 30-45 minutes. Then you leave and come pick it up in 3 hours so the candle can harden. It was super fun and I really enjoyed making and having my candles, but they should change which wicks are used. Both the super narrow with 1 wick, wide with three wicks, and their house-made single wick candle I purchased before don't burn to the edge which wastes a bunch of the lovely wax. Even with an unlimited time first burn all three candles started tunneling and burning down before reaching the edge of the vessel. I have other candles from other companies about the same sizes that burn all the way to the edge without having a hard time but they have different wicks (thicker or wood or otherwise different) than the Paddywax ones. Overall great time for their class and their candles smell lovely but I wouldn't consider their candles the best value if you can't melt much of the wax.

I decided on this place after reading all the positive reviews and glad I did! The staff were very friendly and very helpful throughout the entire candle making process. They have a large selection of candle vessels and scents to choose from and I chose one that can burn a wooden wick. You can even mix different scents together if you would like. I chose just one scent. The entire process took about 45 minutes and then you can leave and pickup your candle after 3 hours have passed, so the candle can dry and harden. I thought the price we paid was fare for what we got. Overall, my date and I had a good time and would recommend trying this experience out if you like candles or if you want a unique date idea.

Has staying power (stayed on till I showered that night) without being in your face. Normally, strong perfumes make me dizzy - Le Labo perfumes all seem to be soft and light. The Ambrette was subtle and unique and can only be smelled in hug proximity. The Jasmine is a soft sweet and woody scent that can be smelled in sitting-beside-you proximity. I picked one since I'm more of a no perfume and scented hand cream person than a perfume person. Service: Christian was very helpful in his descriptions and suggestions. I was able to decide between two scents after he recommended that I try both - one scent on each wrist, walk around the neighborhood, and come back when I've decided. He even threw in a Jasmine sample after I ended up choosing a small bottle of Ambrette 9. Space: Minimal, organized, open. Price: Expensive but quality is there if you want to enjoy a bit of scented luxury. Refills are discounted by 20%.

In the very back, they have an extended area of art along with a limited but healthy selection of plants - today, I spotted a rare albo type. And of course, lots of Colorado-themed pieces, our favourite! The owner, Lauren, was super friendly and knowledgeable about all the artists she supports in her store, with fun anecdotes about the artists themselves or how pieces were developed. My favourites were block prints by an artist named Jini Kimchi and sculptures made from home-grown cordyceps spores (I forget the artist's name but will add here later). It's awesome that this store makes art so accessible, and what a great go-to for gifts!

When I walked in, I was not greeted or asked if I needed any assistance. Instead, I felt as though I was being followed around the store. During checkout, I also felt uncomfortable because the cashier did not engage with me, despite being noticeably friendly and conversational with the customers ahead of me. The experience left me feeling profiled and unwelcome. I considered returning the item I purchased afterward, but ultimately decided it wasn't worth returning a $10 item. I hope the staff can be reminded of the importance of treating every customer with kindness, respect, and the same level of courtesy, regardless of who they are. Everyone who walks through your doors deserves to feel welcomed and valued.

Met the candle creator Elaina and learned about her interesting story with how she got started. So many lovely scented candles to choose from with adorable vessels that'll go so well with any home decor. My personal favorites are - Dry Gin Botanicals, Grapefruit Ginger and current seasonal Lavender Amyris and Orange Blossoms are amazing too. She will come out with fall scent soon within the next month and I can't wait to see what the new scents are. She does local pick up at her studio or you can always catch her at the Belleview Farmers Market, she also does other pop-up markets too so be on the look out for her "floating shop" (that's what I call the farmers market vendors). The candles burns for a long time and the light, soft scent does stick around for a while after candle burn, I'm still finishing up my first Spero with Dry Gin Botanicals and can't wait to plant some wildflowers in it. Yes, all Concrete Poppy candle products come with a small vial of wildflower seeds so you can use the vessel to plant adorable flowers... if you don't want to do that, you could also plant the seeds in the garden to help the bees. When I asked for a fair resolution, the owner: * Repeatedly ignored my requests to communicate via email * Hid behind Terms and Conditions, then contradicted them by threatening to cancel my order * Gave me four different delivery timelines, none of which held * Blamed BDI, the shipping company, and the weather * Offered me a net $50 discount and called it "reasonable and fair" * Gave me 33 minutes via email to accept an offer or he'd cancel The moment I asked him to commit to an actual delivery date with accountability, he cancelled the order and refunded my deposit. Robert held $2,000 hostage for seven weeks for a cabinet that was never coming. Save yourself the headache.
