I visited this store after spending some time at a nearby community center. I like where the store is situated. Be aware that parking is only on the street. Thankfully I didn't need to park far away from the store. The streets were loaded with parked cars but not as bad as I imagined for a weekend. The store was busy when I visited. I've always had a love of Tibetan culture so visiting here was a real treat. The store is kind of small. However, there are a lot of nice things to browse and choose from for purchases. They had a nice selection of wrist malas. I ended up buying a beautiful one with the face of the Buddha for one of the beads. It's a really nice piece of art to wear on your wrist along with the metaphysical benefits of it. The pricing was reasonable as well. Staff was helpful but not too engaging. If you need something or have a question, count on being assertive for assistance. They have a nice selection of pendulums as well. I ended up purchasing one of these. It's really beautiful with the seven chakras (multi-colored stones) on it. From what I understood from someone who referred me to this store, they have a selection of meditation cushions to choose from. I didn't ask to check any out due to the amount of patrons in the store. It wasn't easy to maneuver around them while walking back and forth between two aisles. If you're on the search for a meditation cushion just know that they sell them here. Overall, I was satisfied with my purchase and visit to the store. If you live near the downtown area of Denver, I recommend checking this store out. If you're visiting and have an interest in Tibetan jewelry, statues, meditation cushions and other cultural products, I also recommend checking them out. How many times have I driven past this little shop? Small and almost hidden, it's like finding a treasure chest from an old pirate map. If you're into incense, statues, wall hangings this little shop will fit the bill. On this day, however, I wasn't looking for these things. I was looking forward to getting my reading from Sarita. I had heard so many wonderful things about her and her intuitive readings. I had arrived a little early so that gave me a chance to look around the shop a bit. I can't believe I'd never been to this place! It's jam packed with trinkets, buddhas and incense but what people really go for are the Readings... I was skeptical to say the least but had a good reading and got a necklace too. I took my mom with me and we agreed it was fun! Ask her if you can record the reading, she will show you how to do it on your phone. She will do your reading in the middle of the store with people shopping all around you so record it! You'll likely be self conscious and distracted, but it's all good. This place is magical Tibet Imports was recommended to me by several of my friends. I specifically went here to see Sarita and get a Vedic chart reading + a mala. They only take walk ins for a reading. This place also boasts their beautiful selection of crystals, mala beads, incense, delicate figurines, tarot and oracle decks, singing bowls, the list goes on. When you arrive for your chart reading, she will ask you for your DOB, location of birth, and time of birth, and will proceed to print the Vedic chart. You go into the reading area in the back. She allows you to record the whole process. Which is quite helpful because there is a lot of information to receive. At the end, she picks out a mala for you, along with descriptions of the crystals in the creation. The reading (mala included) was around $55. I also bought a Lakshmi figurine for my shrine, as well as an elephant (my old soul tribute). I tell everyone I know about this glorious hidden gem. read more

This tiny store has so many good things in it I don't know where to start. I usually pop in to buy incense, but I always end up staying to chat with the owner. There are great dresses and blouses, but everything from jewelry to books to lamps and decorative home items. You wouldn't think there was enough room in the store for all the inventory. I found a very cool wind chime that I usually would have never thought of buying, but it had different OM symbols in different sizes and small bells which made a soft music when I jiggled it. This shop is in kind of a odd spot next to a dive bar, and I'd never noticed it before a friend of mine told me I HAD to go in and get my Vedic astrology chart read. The price of a reading also includes a hand-made mala, so you can't beat it. So, guys. Sarita is kind of famous in Denver for a good reason. Her energy is self-contained and kind, and my reading was delightful. BTW, I actually listened to the recording again a couple of weeks ago, and now that almost a year has passed, it makes even more sense. Definitely an AAAHHHH, I SEE! moment. Anyhow. When my reading was done, she swiftly and purposefully collected three very different malas for me to hold and decide between. I loved wearing the one I chose every day until it broke, which is actually a good thing. I just went back and purchased another mala made of different stones than my first one. This new one is just as gorgeous and well-made, and has a whole new intention programmed into it. The malas are pricey, unlike the low-quality ones you can find all over the place, but it's so worth it to wear something created with love and intention. I came here with a friend to celebrate my birthday with an astrology reading and mala bead necklace purchase. We were advised upon arrival that we would need to wait for about 15 minutes to have our readings done, as the woman performing them was with another customer. Then we were offered up the option to have a reading by a woman named Camry, who was packaging up mala bead necklaces at the counter. She stated that she has had the same training as the other woman doing readings, so we said sure! The readings were fun but my only complaint was that Camry kept packaging mala bead necklaces and gluing their descriptions, while doing our readings. This felt really distracting and like she didn't care about focusing on us during the reading. I noticed the other woman giving readings had her full attention on customers while doing readings, which made me wish we would have waited and done ours with her instead. Cute store and I love my mala bead necklace, but wish my reading would have gone differently. read more

I traveled to Nepal with the co-owner, Sarita, and saw first hand that the goods they stocks their store with are fair trade. They are goods manufactured by small business owners locally in Tibet, Nepal, China, and India who staff their businesses with native country folk. That's more than we can say for the U.S. Understand that Tibet, China and India are close cousins to Nepal. They trade profusely with each other and share ancient lineage as well. Their cuisine is shared, their dress styles are shared, and many customs are so similar as to be almost identical. As for 'true Buddhist'- the owners of Tibet Imports are Buddhist/Hindu/Christian from Nepal with family lines also tying to their cousin countries especially to Tibet and India. This mixed religion is the prevalent spiritual tradition in Nepal. It is a rich mix and profoundly impactful, metaphysically speaking. I should know as I spent four months immersing myself in Nepalese culture. This rich mix is absolutely reflective in Tibet Imports merchandise, service, and feel. If you took any time to converse with Sarita or Naresh (the owners), or their spritely young son who frequents the store on weekends, then you would gain much insight into how much their native country and cousins benefit from their support through their Denver store. Now, about the goods they offer. Before ever knowing the owners and visiting their store, I found zero other shops as reasonable and generous in what they offer. Yes, as they disclose up front, there are zero returns allowed for any of their merchandise- however -this is because they must turn their stock frequently. Doing so also greatly benefits the economies, and the hard workers, of the countries they import from. Tibet Imports often give customers freebies or additional discounts on the lovely items they keep well stocked to compensate for the zero returns policy. They also offer more variety and unique items than other shops; all items of which are authentic to the regions of East Asia they originate. It can be said that East Asia is particularly practical in that they waste nothing that the Great Creator makes available to them. Much of the products Tibet Imports sell are hand made from all-natural materials or made using processes traditional to the cultures they're derived. Many of the products are made from plant-based materials commonly found dead and abundantly so on the jungle floor, or abundantly along thousands of miles of river beds and mountain roads. If you've been to places like Nepal then you would see that they recycle almost everything, even plastic pop bottles. Those don't even make it to the dump sites. In short, the products Tibet Imports sell are made using sustainable resources and local labor. In addition, small business owners in East Asia typically invest in their employees as they would blood family. It is absurd to harangue Tibet Imports on the issue of fair trade given these realities. I buy from Tibet Imports often and can count on the Shresthas to trade mindfully all the while helping me remain diligent and honorable in my Hindu pujas and Buddhist rituals. The store also has items perfect for my worship of Christ Consciousness and Angels (Kabalic in origin). I also often buy gifts for friends and family, and for my home, from Tibet Imports. The only thing I wish for (and from) Tibet Imports is bigger retail space (which I know is extremely inflated in cost esp. in this slumped economy) and more clothing such as saris and ladies casual wear from India and Nepal such as salwar kameez, as well as more glass bangals. (Although such items are in low demand in the U.S.) Still, such items are difficult to find in the U.S. without having to shop online. I prefer to try on the duds before I buy. It would also be cool if they sold a few Nepalese and Indian (etc.) snacks so their customers can enjoy a fuller cultural experience of such amazing places in East Asia. Anyway, give Tibet Imports a try! You're guaranteed to see something you or someone you know would like! As for that Mary person bashing on the store... sounds like she was having a bad day and needed to vent on someone undeserving of the abuse. I hope life is treating you better now Mary. SHAME ON THEM. Never been getting a very positive vibe there. My friend bought a Prayer Mala Bead strand from them that was sold as Yellow Jade. Within 2 months the string broke. The woman owner told him she would restring it for $15, but after repeated appearances in her store she never had it done and would promise to do so. After 4 months he finally just went there to get his beads back unstrung, unrepaired. He got the impression she just couldn't bothered for $15. Why make the offer to repair it at all?? I ended up restringing it for him. Now that he has worn them for about 1 year, the yellow has completely faded from the beads. What that mean is: THEY SOLD HIM DYED GLASS BEADS!!! I usually don't write many reviews , but that really bothers me when one claims to be spiritual, yet they mislead people to get more $ in their own pockets! read more
