I simply adore these types of stores and therefore Eclat is no exception. For a reasonable price they have some gorgeous items which could be placed around the home or given to someone as a lovely gift. There are plenty of different types of things to choose from, some which will look great in the kids bedroom or some which will look great in the garden. There are some lovely candles which make the store smell divine, which is always an important factor to me when it comes to these stores. This store is on two different "levels" (in other words there are a couple steps in the middle of the store to get to the counter), so be careful of your step. It's easy to get distracted by all the items for sale and to miss your step! Even though I was in Eclat for a little while browsing, the lady at the counter never asked me if I was looking for anything in particular. This necessarily is not a bad thing in my mind because I like browsing to myself and if I need help, I'll ask for it. Though there may be some who think this irritating and rude. I didn't get that vibe.

It is heavily French influenced - pronounced ek-la, Eclat means "the brilliance of the sun", "the radiance of a smile", "the sparkle of diamonds". The building is reminiscent of Parisian architecture, and the things they sell are so impeccably stylish you would have no trouble believing they were French. Inside, you will find a range of eclectic furniture, gifts, cushions, throws, crockery, tableware, rugs, mirrors, lighting, and a range of interesting wall art. It's a really cute place, even if you're not into that sort of stuff, you might find it handy when it comes to buying gifts!

Although this shop is small, it's easy to get lost in time as you browse through the small bits and pieces. The shop assistant was nice and didn't come across as in your face, and she didn't watch you as you walked around, she remained busy whilst still making an effort with customers. This shop is ideal for design lovers, and anyone who loves quirky new things. Also if you are looking for a small gift for someone, this is the place to come. Little Bird will definitely not disappoint; I love it already!

Nothing makes you wish you owned your own house than this type of store…read more What's that? You already own your own house? Well, screw you, then. I'm sorry I'm a bankrupt student! But seriously, if you DO own a house, and it isn't already polluted with furniture, come buy ALL your stuff here. That way your house will all be matching. And it'll fit a kind of beachy theme. If you live by the beach (I officially hate you, you greedy, house-owning bastard), it's all the more perfect. But to be fair, you can't furnish your entire house with Little Bird's stock. It's more of an... accessory store. So you don't need to throw out all your furniture. Keep it. Just accessorise. I don't like cluttering up my room, which is already cluttered with piles of books and scrunched up bits of notepaper, so I'd never get anything from a store like this in my current condition of living. But as soon as I'm able to leave the nest, I'll be paying this store a visit.

A corner of the store contains childrens clothes and stuffed toys, elsewhere - throws, cushions, jewellery, crockery, framed prints, bunches of fake flowers but quality and so much more to mention. I have learnt to be more discerning in what I buy and if I 'really' need or want it, as it's so easy to take a part of the experience home and count the expense later. But, if you're down Semaphore way do pop in and have a look, as there are sales on a handful of items on occassions. All in all a beautiful shop.

It's an all-out extravaganza of ditsy prints, floral teacups, vanilla-scented candles, ornate photo frames and glassware Marie Antoinette would approve of (had she been middle class and living in Adelaide). While I'm definitely a lover of all things French, I feel the taste of this store is for the slightly older, more cashed up and old fashioned variety of lady. There are also lots of stuffed toys and kids clothes on offer, which are cute as buttons but also a little on the pricey side. There are some gorge pieces of slightly-battered but beautiful furniture in here too, as well a really good selection of soaps and lotions.

There is also of course a plethora of teatowels and tablecloths. Since I don't look like her ideal customer, the shop owner paid me no attention. So I didn't buy the hankies.

Ann also stocks candle holders, I spotted a towering one with with intricate details; nightwear with brands from Louise Mitchell and French Country, rugs and cushions, toiletries and drawers liners and more. Have you ever seen a pillow that's almost the size of you? No? Well if you go to Bed Bath N' Table you will. It's amazing. I wish I could fill my entire room up with those pillows and then wherever I land in my room I know I'll be comfortable. Oh, the possibilites! All the staff look so clean and wear these adorable aprons, which is comforting. Anything's better than having dirty looking staff. They're very friendly and helpful as well. The store is quite large and filled with all your bedding and bath needs. You won't be disapointed.

Perhaps if I was of an "elegant (read: expensive) simplicity" home decorator I would appreciate these products.

The only thing that would have me thinking twice is the cost, as Two Pairs isn't exaclty shopping on the cheap. There are a lot of things that catch the eye in this store, but unfortunately nothing that warrants the pricetag attached (in my opinion). As a poor, just-graduated uni student there's not too much need for these kinds of things. I mean, what am I going to do with a $40 wooden alphabetical letter? But I'm sure as the cash comes in (hopefully) my desire to have quaint yet pointless items in my house will only get stronger, and when that time comes I'll know to go to Two Pairs.

I think they have the best range of Carina Sherlock cushions I've seen anywhere. These cushions are stunning but be prepared to pay a premium price for them. While I'm not a fan of silk flowers, Hot chocolate also have a large selection of silk flowers and will design and arrange them to your specifications. If you're looking for that perfect gift they carry the range of Glasshouse candles, stunning photo frames, jewellery and special things for your kids' bedroom. They will also gift wrap at not extra charge. Love, love, love this shop.

I love that the decorations and theming of the store change regularly, with Christmas being the best time of year to visit - but Valentines day is always another highlight! I'll admit to having purchased many things from the store - a beautiful resin deer head, lots of bling, many a glasshouse candle, some beautiful picture frames, bags, vases and pretty much anything you can thing of - the only thing that currently alludes me are cushions - I want ALL the cushions they currently have in stock, but I guess I'll have to narrow it down to one or two...sigh, life is tough! UPDATE: I went here just last week and - along with a store absolutely BURSTING with stock - so much of it! I was also delighted to see that the talented ladies are now offering fresh cut flower arrangements! Everything looked beautifully put together and the girls were able to custom make arrangements and include favourites in there - something that was GREATLY appreciated!
