But we feel that thanks to Gan West our elder child has made great strides in learning academically, practicing potty training, and learning to empathize and socialize with other kids. Also being a non-Jewish family we were able to continue on learning its beautiful traditions and always felt included in this community. Though a little bit closed off to parents than usual due to new COVID procedures in place this past academic year, from what I have seen the teachers have been great. Whenever we address a concern, they do not take it lightly even if it is coming from the mouth of a toddler. We feel this is due to the leadership of principal/owner/morah Sarah. It is a small community so we feel that in a big city we have made some good friends. We will unfortunately be relocating to another city, but if we weren't we would be back here again :) Thank you Gan West!

I am overjoyed to say that this school is amazing. The director, Ms. Reed, greets you every day with a warm welcome and is very attentive with all of my needs and concerns as a parent. I cannot express how much Ms.Reed has made me feel at ease to have my child attending school. My child gets excited whenever Ms.Reed or Ms.Jordan are there to greet her in the mornings because they show the greatest amounts of love to her. Even in the mornings when my daughter is moody, I feel 10x better seeing them there because I know they will comfort her. The school goes up to Kindergarten and every teacher that works there, I know without a doubt, will have my child's best interest. Her teacher at the moment is Ms. Webster, she has wholeheartedly made me an even prouder mother by teaching my 3 year old how to count to 100, read, and write! My daughter is excelling tremendously in her academics all whilst having fun. Ms.Webster knows my child like the back of her hand and shows great attention to detail with my daughters likes and dislikes. Every night when we're doing her homework she surprises me with something new she learned every day. I recommend this school to any parent looking for a welcoming community for their children. It's really one of the greatest in Inglewood.

Our older daughter…read morespent her preschool years with Ms LiLi and Ms Rosemary and is now thriving in first grade in the Mandarin dual language program at Broadway Elementary. The strong foundation she built gave her confidence, curiosity, and a real love of learning. Seeing her succeed now makes us even more grateful for the years she spent there. Our younger daughter is currently at LA Sunshine, and it has been amazing to watch her grow. She has become such a confident little leader in her class, full of creativity and excitement about learning. The teachers really encourage the children to express their ideas, try new things, and support one another. One of the things we appreciate most about the school is the strong focus on social emotional learning and respect. The teachers guide the children in understanding their feelings, resolving conflicts kindly, and caring for each other. It creates such a thoughtful and supportive classroom environment where every child feels valued. Just this past month alone has been filled with wonderful learning experiences. The children raised butterflies from caterpillars, which became an exciting hands on project. They counted the caterpillars, observed the changes each day, wrote about what they saw, and talked about the life cycle in Mandarin and Spanish. When the butterflies finally emerged, the kids were absolutely thrilled. The teachers are so thoughtful about turning everyday moments into learning opportunities. One day the kids discovered an insect under the playground slide, and that moment turned into a whole exploration about insects. They read books, talked about bugs, and shared their observations from outside. There are so many joyful activities that make school special. The children do fun science experiments using things like food coloring, which sparks so much curiosity. They also have Happy Kitchen days where they cook lunch together. The kids love preparing food as a group and it teaches teamwork and independence. We also love the enrichment activities. The music teacher who comes in is fantastic and the kids have so much fun singing and moving together. Soccer is another highlight of the week and the children look forward to it every time. And show and tell every Wednesday is a great way to build the kids' confidence. LA Sunshine Preschool is truly a place where children feel safe, respected, and inspired to learn. The teachers care deeply about each child and create an environment where curiosity, kindness, and confidence can grow. We've also built deep and lasting friendships with other parents and feel incredibly lucky to be part of this community.

We looked at Young Minds, New World Montessori, St Johns, Bright Horizons, and others. Of all the schools we looked at we had a pro and cons list. For Building Blocks, it was all Pro's!

The teachers are engaged with the kids, they really know each child, and they are so creative with their lesson plans. The school is play based, but my daughter is starting to read, she's writing and spelling words, she's understanding math concepts (counting, adding, patterns, comparison), and her social-emotional development is supported in a nurturing way. The school is great at organizing small events for holidays and for the community. One of our favorites was the snow day where they brought in a snow truck and filled the grassy area for kids to play in. Highly recommend touring the school!

The space itself is so magical with different areas for dress up and imaginative play, blocks and train sets, quiet reading area, dress up area, and a big outdoor space with play structure, bikes and lots of "messy" play stations. But it's really the teachers that have made it such a wonderful place for my kid. They really love and care about him and share his progress with me when I pick him up. My child entered a shy two year old with a speech delay and is now a confident, chatty three year old. I really love that the school helps encourage him to be himself. I was worried a bit when we signed up that there wasn't much structure, but when I volunteered I could really see that there was a rhythm to the day and they are able to have play be child-led while providing different opportunities for them to choose throughout the day. And it's nice that he can be with kids younger and older than him while also getting some small group time with his teacher. If you're in the area, I highly recommend the school and to take a tour and see the magic for yourself!
