It treats arthritis at the base of the thumb, often involving a trapeziectomy (removing the trapezium bone) and often a ligament reconstruction - therefore physical therapy is *IMPERATIVE. Casey has been my primary physical therapist and he has been phenomenal. He answers all my ridiculous questions, (patiently), and offers easy to follow suggestions - he's a gem. The staff working the front desk are always upbeat, friendly, and engaging. Aging is no joke kids! One morning you wake up with your 21-year-old mind trapped in a 60ish year-old's body. Ugh.

My dad spent his last days in CHHH and passed away on June 12th. Dana, an aide, was exceptionally…read moregentle with him and took great care of him. She spoke to him sweetly as she shaved his face even though he wasn't conscious, and treated him with the respect he deserved. Pam sweetly put lotion on his dry face and arms. The nurses conversed with me the late nights I was there by my dad's bed. When Dana told me my dad had 1/2 an hour to an hour to go, my husband and I were able to be with him as he took his last breath, and I'll be forever grateful for that. While he was being seen by a Hospice nurse at the Canterbury, she made sure all his needs were being met, and went through great pains to get him a portable oxygen machine so he could still get out once in awhile. She was there always for any questions or concerns I had, and I never felt like what I was asking was stupid or an inconvenience. My uncle and many dear friends have passed away while at CHHH, and I'm forever grateful to the staff for the care they gave all of them.

He gets home and collapses because his defibrillator went off twice and hit the closet and hurt his hands they go back to St. John's after being there from 1:00 PM to midnight they then put him in ICU which they might be taking care of the problem after being an ICU however, if you ask a question as to why it wasn't addressed the earlier before and them,nurses and supervisors think like it's no big issue if you address time of his last visit he was in ICU and asked for them to move that person around so they don't get bed sores obviously it wasn't enough to express your concern now they tell me I can't address it. It's none of my business even though it's a family member furthermore, the nurse in the ER was so rude To the wife and if you ask that question, they don't want to address it you ask for admin person to talk to them to get answers instead if you take a name, if you take a name they bring the security and a supervisor, instead of a admin person...I did mention you all gonna get yourselves fired, which is not a threat they bring up security to escort you out and you still haven't got to talk too a admin person to answer you questions...private hospital is not a trauma they don't have the capability of resolving the issueThey are rude and they don't care they bring their security that you're out of control and making threats which never happened. This hospital is very poor and second time that a family member has been in there so the powers that be in this hospital facility sucks not everybody is nice or compassionate at all. They told me not to call the hospital or talk to admin or anyone else for that matter so what is being hidden in that hospital but yet I see all these great experiences from other visits I'm disgusted and even though I'm not a PA , or his wife I'm just a sibling and I can't ask questions with my bother there in the room and the supervisor talks over you I got up and walked out and furthermore, you have to ask the nurse three times to leave so you can have some time with your sibling and she is her department and she can be there if she wants to. They should be shut down and there's got to be more people that are being treated horribly as a family member.

She walks in the morning around the lake and she was able to get a portable model that can summon help wherever she is - even if she's in the car or traveling. Its like having your own "on-star" emergency help button where ever she goes. No equipment to purchase, she just rents for as long as she needs the unit. I would highly recommend Elder Options. They personally go to the home to install and instruct the senior on how to use the equipment. ( We called several businesses and everyone seems to ship equipment in a box and leave it up to the senior to read directions and install themselves) They also provide a free safety check to help address potential fall dangers and suggest remedies. Elder Options helped bring us peace of mind !
