My Great Grandmother was a resident for a few years here. She ended up passing here, years ago…read more While i'm sure management has changed in the time since she was there, it was an awful experience speaking on her care alone. She had new bruises and wounds every time we were in there. She was a Dementia Patient. However, just before she had passed away she had broken her leg so badly, it was a Compound fracture (a broken bone that punctures through the skin, for those not familiar). It was family that had found her that way when they went to visit her. She was taken to Bremerton Harrison hospital at the time, if that tells you a bit of how long it's been. Based on the doctor's report at the hospital, she had been down for quite some time. Far too often we would visit and find that she had stools dried up and causing bedsore wounds. Between all of the family, we began visiting daily after her broken leg, to ensure she was given proper care. Even with the daily visits, staff was typically pretty irritable as members of the family held them accountable. A coworker of mine had expressed her own concerns to me about her mom's time here, and it drove me to write my own review regardless of quite some years passing by. I drive by this place daily to get to work. I leave for work around 330 am. I'm usually driving past this place around 345 am and there's always window blinds open in elderly mans room out front, with lights on and the resident/patient lying in bed. This are odd ours of the morning. I can't imagine trying to sleep or feeling safe with lights on and passerby's having the ability to look into ones room.

Appalling in every sense of the word. I was released from hospital after critical low numbers for…read moresodium, iron and potassium. My partner and I were puzzled that we were to be sent to a rehab place as the blood work that was performed on the day of leaving the hospital was back in the normal range. When we got to Belmont Terrace we were told that we had to see OT and PT in order to be released. The next day I was evaluated by OT and the day after - PT. I took part in exercise and was very puzzled that the PT was on a bike. When I asked, I was told it was for my left knee. I asked for Ms Cassidy 3 times through the nurses, the aides and finally wheeled my wheelchair to her office. I have been in a wheel chair for 4 years. She told me the discharge papers said I had a problem with my left knee. I asked to see the report and she said she didn't have her computer hooked up to print - or something along that line. I take insulin and despite my telling the nurse and the people who came around with the drugs - that I take 50 once a day - they were giving me 50 2x a day and I was so drugged up the first 2 days that I had to demand not to be put on amitriptyline and sleeping pills and other pills that I had not taken in years. I was on a pain contract of 15 mg 4x day and 20mg at night. They provided 5 mg so the pain was quite excruciating so I asked to supplement with tylenol. Medications were haphazard, either grossly over or grossly under. I am a disabled vet with PTSD and the open doors and sleeping pills made it very hard to be there. My partner was there when we saw the PA - he let us know that we could leave anytime we wanted - that we were not kept there against our will and I asked to leave. I was told I would have to stay another night. Ms Cassidy then told me to call the VA Doctor (there are no numbers directly to the doctors) so my partner drove me to the VA in Silverdale, WA and the social worker there spoke with Ms Cassidy. I was told to go home and Ms Cassidy would call me. She did not call. I went to Belmonth the next day at 11 am which was the agreed upon time to do my discharge papers and none of the stories were consistent about why she didn't call after the VA social worker spoke with her - Ms Cassidy said she was "in the room waiting for me" which she knew and saw that I had removed all my belongings. So - I was discharged. Imagine my surprise when there was a knock on the door and a phone call from social services saying there was an elder abuse charge! I answered all the questions, passed all the cognitive tests and we thought that was that. But no - later that day I get a call from someone who says there have been assigned by Belmont Terrace to come into my home 2x week for 4 - 6 weeks. I don't think that this is the end of this story, but if you care at all about your charge - DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. The food was more than deplorable and the city should check that people are getting nutritious meals and unwatered down juices.

My mother lived at Clearbrook Inn for almost three years before her passing. It is a clean,…read morewell-furnished facility with competent, caring staff. I especially appreciated how the two activity directors reached out to my mom and other residents, encouraging them to join in the many social activities provided at Clearbrook. While not pushy, Marty and Marsha became personally friendly with Mom, and made it easy for Mom to say "yes" to opportunities such as sewing, crafts, news time, music events, and cooking. I had the pleasure of joining Mom at several parties around the holidays. They were joyful events. I ate several meals at Clearbrook and found the food to be nutritious and tasty. Mom sat with the same 3 ladies at each meal. My hunch was that staff figured out who would be most likely to get along and enjoy one another and some good friendships developed as a result of how tablemates were handled. There are many kind caregivers who helped Mom and she had her favorites. One was named Nora. Nora was also helpful to me when Mom's memory declined. When Mom had difficulty remembering how to dress herself in the morning, Nora described how she helped her dress, but as much as possible set things up so Mom could do part of her own dressing and preserve her dignity. Also, I appreciated how Clearbrook coordinated with Moms' physicians. I found the nurses to be helpful and kind. One complaint is that at one point, Mom's level of care rating called for her to have assisted showers. There were gaps in that service. I understand that a change in staffing is the explanation for that oversight. Nonetheless, I give Clearbrook an overall Excellent rating. After a year, Mom accepted Clearbrook as her home.
