My dog was stung by a wasp and had a severe reaction and although they did not have any appointments on Monday when I called, they squeezed me in and saw her as quickly as they could. The pricing was fair and the staff were very patient with my anxious crazy pup. The next day I had some questions about maybe needing to bring her back in and then assured me on the phone her symptoms were to be expected and even advised on what I could give her to help. Very happy with our experience.

Her previous treatment plan provided some relief, but it wasn't fully addressing her symptoms, and we didn't want her to wait any longer for care. The receptionist was incredibly kind and helpful in squeezing Yuna in for a next-day appointment. She also let us know that the hospital was offering a complimentary first-time client exam, which was an added bonus. Dr. Sandhu was knowledgeable, thorough, and compassionate. She took the time to discuss a treatment plan that worked for both Yuna and our family and reassured us that allergy management extends beyond just Apoquel and Cytopoint. She mentioned recently attending a dermatology conference, and I truly appreciated her commitment to continuing education. As a pet care professional myself, I know how important it is to stay current with advancements in animal care, whether in grooming, veterinary medicine, or other fields. I was especially impressed that Dr. Sandhu recommended a newer medication, Zenrelia, which I had not previously heard of. After visiting several veterinarians over the years, we've often been told that Apoquel and Cytopoint were the primary options available. Learning that there are additional avenues to explore for allergy treatment was both reassuring and encouraging. The entire team was also incredibly patient and accommodating. I was at work during the appointment, and my husband, who brought Yuna in, wasn't as familiar with her medical history and previous treatments. The staff took the time to work with me over the phone and made sure all of my questions and concerns were addressed. What stood out most was that I never felt pressured into unnecessary treatments or add-ons. Unfortunately, some veterinary practices today can feel transactional or dismissive of client concerns. At Family Pet Hospital, I felt genuinely heard, respected, and supported. Their focus was clearly on finding the best solution for Yuna rather than selling services. As of her first day on Zenrelia, Yuna is already showing encouraging signs of improvement, and we are hopeful this treatment will provide her with lasting relief. We will continue monitoring her progress, but we're very pleased with how she is doing so far. Thank you, Dr. Sandhu and the entire staff, for your kindness, expertise, and dedication to your patients. I highly recommend Family Pet Hospital to anyone looking for a veterinary team that is compassionate, knowledgeable, and committed to providing personalized care.

I had to go to A4Pz today, a Sunday, and discovered this is the day to go for fast, fun service with a big smile & no attitude. You ROCK, Sam & Sarah!

They even had one of the doctors fix his teeth. They took really good care of him during that procedure. About 2 years ago the team started becoming real sticklers about the heart worm medication I gave him every month. It was a nuisance but I figured it was a safety precaution as they explained to me. Then when my fiancé moved in with his 2 pit mixes it became pretty ridiculous. This vet office had policies that are incredibly strict around prescribing heart worm medication. And with 2 medium sized dogs and a little, the price of these meds is WILD. I know this inflexibility around policy is not typical since I've asked folks about their vet experiences and found that some vets will have you sign paperwork that says you understand the risk of not getting them tested every year in order to ensure the dog can stay on the flea tick heart worm meds. This strictness was also very different than my experience at Redwood Vet Hospital in Vallejo. I give my dogs their heart worm medicine every single month without exception. I never miss a dose. This vet office isn't really willing to work with dog owners and seems more loyal to their policies & money than trying to mitigate health risks & disease in dogs. They don't believe their customers who tell them that we don't miss a dose. They don't care if you understand the risks they're describing for a possible missed dose. They will proceed to talk to you like your dumb. I've experienced both Dr. Kafka & Dr. Brandwajn talking down to either me or my partner (over the phone) about how we care for our dogs. I used to work at a dog daycare and I understand that many, many owners don't really know how to properly care for their dogs. I feel for vets and what they have to see and deal with. But the way business is conducted in this office is not the way to make it better. I haven't seen Heather in the office for a while, I'm not sure if she still works there but she was one of the office staff who didn't treat me like I didn't know what I was doing and even leveled with me and said that if money was an issue I can get my 3 dogs vaccinated at the monthly SPCA clinic. She seemed to understand that the safety of the dog should be the priority, but when we took our dogs back for their next checkup at A4P after taking them to the vaccine clinic we were treated as if we were lying about them having been vaccinated. The amount of hoops we have to jump through just to get our dogs access to flea tick & heart worm meds feels like a scam. We've brought our dogs in just for a simple heart worm test or cytopoint shot and been quoted $1000+ for a wild amount of additional tests they wanted to tack on. I do not feel like this vet is trustworthy or has my dogs best interests in mind. Our experience at the last two visits has finally convinced us to change vets. Which is sad because I really wanted to support this local business that isn't owned by private equity. Please enjoy pics of the goodest dogs in the world
