Good Dr but horrible & disgusting staff. We have had good medical treatment from Dr Lakis for past 10+ years. However, the staff there is absolutely rude and unreasonable. It happened so that, my husband didn't wanted to go to his cleaning appointment because of sudden work travel on the same day. So when I called them to cancel my husband's cleaning appointment (unfortunately it was on the same day), they screamed at me for trying cancel his appointment. When I told them that I will come for cleaning in his place, they refused to do that too. And threatened me that no body from my family can ever come for any dental visits to them ever again. In past 45 years of my life I have never experience such rudeness and unprofessional, disgusting behavior from any medical office. These ladies there are horrible, mean people who only know how to scream and be sarcastic. I only write reviews, if I only have good things to say about any business. But this time it was different. I have had couple episodes of sarcasm in the past but I ignored it. But this time they went overboard, so I couldn't resist. I had a crown done at this office and paid the full amount at the time of service. Three months later, I unexpectedly received a bill for $177. When I contacted them for clarification, I was told the charge was for a "core billed out," which had never been mentioned before. This experience left me feeling frustrated and misled. Had nothing but bad experiences! First time is when I scheduled an appointment with them and they scheduled on a day that they were closed and I live ​40 miles away and all they can do is apologize ​and reschedule. Second time is when I scheduled for a​ deep cleaning, and instead of a deep cleaning they were looking at the procedure that was done to my gums to make sure everything was fine and I told him that they had done that the week before and that I was there for a cleaning. They said that they had no idea and I said for them to look at their notes. Sure enough I was right. So they gave me an x-ray and they assured me that everything was okay that I could just get an X-ray done and that I didn't drive there for nothing. I was extremely upset and I let them know. When I had done that procedure they had injected my gums with Novocaine and they accidentally pricked and injected it into my lip which caused me to be numb for 4 hours and they didn't even acknowledge it because they figured I wouldn't even notice it. Before I went for the procedure I had to wait 15 minutes for them to get the room ready and I was okay with it but when I was 15 minutes late to get my girlfriend's teeth cleaned they told me I had to reschedule. I had told him that I was on route 24 and I was running a little bit late because of an accident and they wouldn't let me bring her there because they said it was too late. I told him that I had to wait for a room because they had to set it up for 15 minutes so what was the difference? They told me that they had to get a patient in there and that I had to reschedule. Mind you I had driven 40 miles to get there and it wasn't my fault that I got caught in traffic because of an accident. I was at my wits end with them. Not to mention there's so much confusion at the front desk because there's different people working there at times that schedule and they give me one time and the next thing you know it's another time. I would not recommend going to this practice because of all the chaos. My girlfriend and I will go elsewhere! read more

I just moved to Sharon and turned to Yelp to find a dentist. I chose to go see Dr Lakis based on Julie B's review. I had a tooth that started bothering me during my pregnancy and once I had the baby, I knew I had to address it asap....... but I have a major, major fear of the drill. My fear stems from a horrific experience I had with a dentist who kept drilling even though I could feel it. Not Dr Lakis...he talked me through the entire procedure and told me that at any time if I felt anything, to let him know. I ended up having a root canal and didn't feel a thing. He even dealt with my crying and whimpering. He was very quick and extremely understanding when it came to my anxiety. I will only see him from now on and would recommend him to anyone who has a fear of the dentist. As for the office itself - it's brand new, very clean and has the latest and greatest equipment and procedures available. All the staff was extremely nice and never made me feel badly, which is a bonus! read more

My husband and I have had a several appointments here, at least 5. -when I call the front desk, they are never nice -every time we came in for an appointment, they were 10-15 minutes behind -I had 2 cleanings which were just fine, my hygienist was nice and gentle. The dentist only came in to check my teeth at the end for 1 appointment. The hygienist just sent me home after the cleaning, is that normal? -my husband had a cleaning and the dentist checked his teeth without any gloves on!!! we will be trying other dentists in the area read more

I HATE going to the dentist. It is the one thing one earth that gives me nightmares and anxiety and incomprehensible fear. However, the staff here is amazing from the front desk to the doctor. For me, finding a good dentist is like finding the perfect pair of jeans. You just want to hold on to them forever - which I will. In fact I recently moved and I commute all the way back to Canton for CDC. Nancy is the greatest hygienist. She does an incredible job and also remembers everything, which makes it fun to chat with her. She's been here for at least 20 years. Then there's Dr. Lakis. He's my savior. If you suffer from anxiety like I do, he can help you with sedatives for major work. He's also very efficient and does a great job. When I first came to him, I had experienced a horrific visit to Dream Smile Dental, where they told be a whole lot of BS. Dr. Lakis proved to me he was right about not having done some ridiculous cosmetic procedure the other guys deemed "necessary". Anyways, long story short: if you're in this area and you need a dentist, try this place out! All my friends and family come here and I would highly recommend it. read more

Dr. Lakis is the best dentist I can ask for. I had really awful impacted wisdom teeth, but Dr. Lakis did an excellent job, he is precise, patient, professional, treat me with the best care you can ask from a doctor. He walked me through the whole procedure, check with me constantly during the surgery, gave me after-surgery care instruction, and even gave me some extra gauze and syringes to clean my wound. I think his experience and professionalism make him a very good dentist I can trust. My hygienist is Sandy, and she is very nice as well. They both work long hours after normal business hours, so it make the patients' life a lot easier. read more

I been going here for years now and my last 3 visits have been so Awful I'm going to find someone new! They are money hungry and will tell you to get extra things just do you pay more! I was just there yesterday and I had the same lady for the second time and she rushed and scrapped my gums to the point I have cuts! She ever used the vacuum thing that gets all the water and stuff out of my mouth so I had to do it myself! I am so done with this place! read more

I love their new location, but my experience was horrible. My cleaning lasted 15 minutes. The hygienist must have been in a huge hurry as she kept stabbing me with her instrument and I had fingerprint marks on my face from where she was pinching so hard while polishing me teeth. I love Dr. Innes there, but didn't even see a dentist at the end of my appointment. Major bummer! :( read more

Parking is easy. Office is clean, updated. Nice to see an elevator for handicapped access. Hygienist who did my cleaning was the best Ive ever had. ( Elena) The office has clinicians from all over the world, so there are many approaches to patient care. Interaction is sometimes abrupt, but this seems more cultural than professional. Tough getting used to the pay up front for services the day you come in. My 18 year old needs her wisdom teeth removed. I could not get a straight answer on what my copay would be the day of service, even though I have Blue Cross for dental insurance. The staff that book appointments and take payment are sometimes cold and have multiple interruptions while working with you. Thats the only reason I am giving this practice 4 stars. Otherwise, this Collaborative goes above and beyond with the actual dental work and making referrals or working with other health professionals when needed. Worth the odd payment upfront for good care. Just bring your wallet. read more

I wish I had an experience similar to anyone who gave this place 5 stars. It's been 6 years since my last dental visit due to 5+ years of extensive, painful ortho care leaving me scarred. Night grinding and sore teeth finally pushed me to find a new dentist. This was the highest reviewed accepted my insurance and within 10 miles. There was a woman dentist stomping around the whole place announcing whenever it was time for somebody to take lunch. While there are 2 people in my mouth is not a good time to discuss with your bestie when would be ideal to take your lunch break. The dentist working on me was a scatter brain! The kept losing her tools and kept calling over to other rooms to see of they had what she was looking for. My mistake for not looking into the word "collaborative" in the title. The hygienists were all new and needed continuous guidance with everything. I am TERRIFIED of the pain and suffering (which they were reminded of multiple times) and nobody can pay any attention to detail or care when there are so many distractions. This one needs to be shown x-rays, this one needs to learn the computer, this one has a COUGH and kept leaning away to cough into her arm, forcing her suction tube into my check getting stuck like a vacuum. Since your only job is to suck up the nasty stuff, why can't you make sure it doesn't pool in the back of my throat, hence triggering an unwavering need to swallow? So many other things I didn't like as well; I'm not a tough critic on most things. I just would have really appreciated somebody's understanding and un-divided attention, and possibly a warning from the cleaning tech when it was going to hurt. If you're that insensitive to pain, why would you ever consider a profession pertaining specifically to one of the most sensitive parts of the body? read more

I have been going to Dr. Lakis for years. He's fantastic. I've needed emergency work done, and he's stayed late just so I could have my pain alleviated as soon as possible. He proceeds very carefully, and makes sure you're not in any discomfort every step of the way. I moved a few towns away, but will still drive to Canton to see Dr. Lakis. The rest of the staff are very nice and professional as well. read more

I am pleased with the work but they are so expensive. My regular dentist apologized that the nitrous went from $25 to $30. Canton Dental Collaborative charges $100 for nitrous!! That is absolutely ridiculous to take advantage of people who are so petrified of the dentist that they need to relax a bit. read more

Well, I had been going to Canton Dental Collaborative for years, thinking I was getting amazing care and sadly that was far from the truth. My mother started to have issues with Dr.Lakis and went to another doctor for a second opinion and thank God she did. From there I decided to switch doctors as well. Years ago he filled a cavity for me, and I would complain at each cleaning that when I flossed-my floss got stuck. And each time he told me "It was the angle that I was flossing from." After going to this new dentist and getting x-rays done, they found that the filling had a large over hang on it and I had decay around the filling that he did. It was so bad that I needed a root canal because the decay went into the nerve-which is costing me $800 out of pocket. When I went back to the Canton Dental Collaborative to obtain my past x-rays, they lied to me and told me I hadn't had x-rays done in 5 years and would not give me any information. I am not a person that does not keep up with my dental hygiene, I went for a cleaning every 6 mos, brush my teeth at least twice a day, I floss every night, etc and I am also not a person to complain about care. But seeing what my mother and I went through something needs to be said. Having to get a root canal done because your doctor would not listen to you when you voiced your concerns is a little obnoxious. If you are looking to have a great hygienist and a dentist that doesn't truly care about his patients and is mainly in it for the money(Don't show up to you appointment 10mins late or you'll get a $50 charge and a canceled visit)-go over to the Canton Dental Collaborative it's the office for you :) read more
