(Which ends up making a huge difference when you fill your shopping cart.) Even though Sobey's is within (ambitious) walking distance, it's more than worth it to pay for the gas to get to Freshco. Not being from Welland, I wandered around semi-lost for a while before I finally found this particular Freshco. I knew it was there from online maps, but I don't have a GPS, so it took me a while. From the outside, it's not very impressive. The rest of the mini-mall it's in was kind of sad when I first found it. (It's slowly filling in and looking better.) But inside, it's Freshco like I know and love it: lots of selection, usually decent prices, clean, and with helpful (if not particularly outgoing) staff. I wish they'd convert the Sobey's in Fort Erie to a Freshco, but until they do, I have no objection to spending my money in Welland.

When I had a question I found I was given an answer and where to find my item. I found the isles clear and concise plenty of room to move. The checking out there was distancing however congestion and the lines ups can be long. The clerk's were friendly and professional. I always find the owner friendly and professional just as.they should be. I am from the UK and finding this little quaint shop in the middle of Welland has been a great treasure trove. A must visit if you like your cheese and wine pairings. They have No Name and Presidents Choice goods, the Optimum card is the best customer loyalty program out there and the only complaint I have, a very personal one, is I can't bend down far enough to read prices on the bottom shelf. I have no other complaints and many more compliments. I go there exclusively because I live on a very limited budget.

He's constantly there in the store checking in with customers and happy to order anything you can't find. There is a better selection here than other stores in town and the store is beautiful with their remodel. I often find things here that I'm not able to find elsewhere in town. They have a deli, bakery, etc. I rarely have a long wait to check out and they have an excellent clearance section tucked in the back where great deals can be found. They also have a free piece of fruit for kids. They also note which items are made locally which is nice.

Prices are significantly higher than neighbouring establishments. I just tonight I went there only to find half the store blocked off for cleaning - and to be told that, produce, bread, etc. would not be available for several hours - so in fact they are not open 24 hours - some random part of the store is open 24 hours while they close the rest for cleaning. In spite of the falsely advertised 24 hour opening, I will never go again. This is an overpriced establishment 24 hours per day (when they can be bothered selling to customers at all), and I will wait for normal hours to shop elsewhere in future.
