I filed a claim with my insurance for an auto accident and agreed to meet the tow truck at 8pm. At 7:58pm I receive a text saying "We apologize for the inconvenience, but the provider can no longer complete your job. A new one will be assigned in the next few mins." So I called the dispatch to see what was up. Dispatch says they're running 8+ hours behind. Said I can wait until 5/6am or call another place. I get you're busy but a text TWO minutes before our appointment? I left dinner early and drove across town to be there at 8pm. Kind of rude if you ask me. read more

Canton Towing should receive charges against their business for faulty practices. They disabled two vehicles after their towing services (the total cost of which was over $1000 by the way). The manager of the company refuses to relinquish the information of what he did to disable the two vehicles (He did say for a fee of $250 he would say what he "thinks" might be the problem). This is extortion! He also threatened a small business owner by saying he planned "to railroad" the company until nothing was left. These statements were witnessed and videotaped. This company should be ashamed of such behavior. You are here to provide a service. Provide that. Keep your biased opinions to yourself. Collect your money and DO THE RIGHT THING. I needed towing service to return to my home in Ohio when my car had a breakdwn in Southern Michigan. After waiting 5 hours for promised tows by an other companies Canton Towing arrived. The driver was very professional and dismayed at the manner in which my situation was handled while I waited in a cold automobile. He arrived exactly when he said and immediately wanted assurance I was not injured. I have a later model automobile and I was amazed at how detailed he was in preparing the car for transport. If possible stay away from this place. While traveling back to Akron where she goes to school my daughters vehicle became disabled because the hood wouldn't stay down. We live a few hours away. Canton Towing was called, we was told it would be 268 and some change. 230 for towing back to their shop and around 40 for a night of storage. The very next day less than 24 hours it went to 833. 3 different employees told me to call my insurance full coverage will pay it. Big insurance scam. My daughter told me they had already asked her if we had full coverage. Before we left when they realized I wasn't calling the insurance company other than to report this it dropped to 420. Horrible company! They were dispatched from roadside assistance and the driver tried to tell me my alternator was bad and I should have my car towed to their shop. Thank goodness I didn't do that because it turns out it was (as I suspected) only the battery. This scamming company would have taken me for so much money. Horrible experience with this company! Got in an accident yesterday that wasn't my fault. Needed a tow truck to get my jet ski I was pulling back on my trailer. They sent out a flat bed truck and wanted to pull my jetski on the bed which would have destroyed the bottom of it. He refused to call for the other truck they have that could have lifted my ski into my trailer and then charged me full price just for coming out. Had to have my car towed from my house. First off, the company could not get my car into neutral, so the man decided to drag my car on to the bed of the truck in park. Secondly, the guy told me to keep the keys on top of the car after putting windows up before getting it on to tow truck. The driver took me to the dealership along with my car, and before we left I asked him if he had the keys, to which he responded with they are in the car. Get to the dealership, get my rental, and the tow truck driver comes up to me and says that they need the keys and I was the last to have them. I do not have a spare set of keys, and the dealership charged me nearly $400 for them to make two for me (15' Lincoln MKZ). I called to have the company help pay for these charges, and they completely placed the blame on me instead of owning up to their own faults, and were willing to pay $60. I was willing to split the charges in half, but after their awful customer service, and no wrongdoing on my end, I believe it should be paid in full. I am appalled and completely disgusted with their customer service, meanwhile it took them a whole week to finally respond back to me after I had contacted them every single day as I patiently waited while they gave me excuse after excuse. read more

I been driving truck for 15 years now. Been towed quite a few times. Busted a drive line yesterday and called Canton Towing. When they showed up with the wrecker I thought I would be so screwed. It was one of the nicest piece's of equipment I've seen on the road. They were extremely quick, efficient and very professional. I honestly expected a HUGE bill. Turns out, It was very reasonable. I had some time problems Friday evening near Louisville about five miles out in the country a bit before 10PM. As they are the AAA contractor for the area, they were called to deliver Emergency Roadside Assistance. They arrived at 12:10 AM. This is not emergency roadside assistance. This is roadside assistance when we get around to it. They gave three different arrival times. When they arrived they said they couldn't find the address. With Maps and Google any 10-year-old could have found it. Would definitely NOT recommend them to anyone for anything. read more

I have solid roadside service through USAA. USAA did an authorization for Canton Towing to do a tire change for me last weekend (nasty, unrepairable flat tire). Canton Towing couldn't change my tire because of a bad lug nut, so they hooked it for a tow and told me to call USAA for the tow authorization (which I did while I waited at the tow spot with the drivers). This was at 10pm on a Sunday. The driver's told me to go, because they had it covered after I got the tow authorized over my cell phone with USAA. But, after I left - they unhooked the car and left my car at the tow spot overnight with the door unlocked and just put the keys under the floor mat. Yeah - they left my car unsecured without calling me and didn't tow my car to the garage (which was about 5-10 minutes away). I went to the shop in the AM thinking everything was ok, but my car wasn't there. What is going on? I called Canton Towning...and they told me to call USAA, because it wasn't their problem. What? Canton towing also said they tried to call me that night after they dropped it (that didn't happen-I didn't get any calls from them). I called USAA and they said the car was towed. What a bunch of BS. Don't use these guys. What a terrible experience. They didn't help with the tire change (got it), didn't do the tow, didn't call me when there was a problem (after they told me that had it covered), and basically didn't do anything. Had them tow my rear wheel drive van, because of the fuel pump. They picked it up from the front, never dropped the shaft. When it got to the mechanic, I was told some linkage for the steering was damaged. They said it is impossible that it's their fault. According to them it was just bad timing. Horrible service. Called at 9:30am for a tow for our vehicle parked at the airport. Told them we'd be waiting for them. Said a driver would be out between 11 and noon and would give us a call when they were 15 minutes out. When we hadn't heard from them, called again at 12:15pm and got an excuse but that a driver was in and on his way. Driver finally called at 12:50pm and said he'd meet us in 25 minutes. Never showed. Called them back at 1:30pm and he gave another excuse that he had to pull over to fix his vehicle and said be there in 10 minutes. We've been sitting at the airport for over 3 hours. I get that stuff comes up, but come on this is ridiculous. I'ts not like they only have one tow truck available. I've seen numerous trucks all over the county. Way overpriced as well. Totaled my car in an interstate pile-up. While I was at the hospital, the police called Canton Towing. We talked to them two or thee times before we were able to get the car out of their lot. They told us our bill would be $50 for two days storage. BIG SURPRISE!! When we went to pay the bill it was $352.00. They started adding all these extra charges. I could not believe it. They specifically were asked what the charges would be and they never said a word about all these charges. Thank goodness a kindly person who heard the conversation told us to offer them the title and they would cancel the bill. Sure enough, they agreed to do that. WHY didn't they tell us to begin with what the total bill would be?. What disgusting people that take advantage of someone in a difficult situation to start with. I am rating this company as a member of the driving public who had a "close call" with one of this company's large (semi-tractor) tow vehicles at the intersection of Long Road and Pressler Road in southern Summit County at about 4:45 PM 6/4/2018. He was towing a flatbed loaded with a heavy construction vehicle.The young "cowboy" took the right turn from Pressler onto Long way too fast, cutting into the northbound lane (where I was) while making his turn. If I would have been stopped at the stop sign, he would have killed me. As it was, he just barely missed hitting my car. The owner needs to screen his drivers more carefully. This driver may cost him his business if his poor driving behavior continues. read more
