Came here about a month ago with a friend of mine for a girl's night. What a fun night! It was a small class, but the instruction was spectacular and the shop is super cool. My friend purchased at home paint kit for her and her family the following week. Love the option for coffee and tea instead of wine and cocktails. Will come back again. read more

This is the cutes place ever. The owners are so super sweet and have a beautiful store. They have a very family friendly atmosphere. Love that my kiddo can have a birthday party there or I could have a girls night there. So very versatile. They have summer camps that they are offering for kids. Terry is vivacious and very excited to share her love for painting with anyone. Steve is so kind hearted and patient. They both have a wonderful welcoming spirit. Love birds, put this place on your date spot list. Parents, get ready for some quality time with the kiddos. You won't be selecting anything from your Recently Watched queue, there's no streaming video or wi-fi involved whatsoever, just something apparently referred to as the Creative Process, and I'll be damned if this stuff ain't worth a million hits of dopamine Likes. It's just good old fashioned painting and crafting, no booze involved, and I loved it. Terry and Steve own a seriously eclectic, dynamic little hole-in-the-wall on 4th, a natural reflection of their personalities; Steve's the more measured artistic type, somewhat calculated, whereas you get the feeling Terry could flip her festive Greek switch at any moment. They teach painting classes together in the back room of their paint and antique store, and recently they've been wandering into multi-media territory on the canvasses. I was a lucky guest at their first course ever, actually. I loved the intimate setting (12 people maxed the room out), the laid back less-regimented rhythm (our class ran three hours; painting classes are at least two), and I truly enjoyed my little masterpiece, a sweet lil' birdy sittin' on a branch, singin' a love song. It's going up in my daughter's bedroom, stat. As I mentioned, the place doesn't serve wine or any other booze by principle: they wish to be considered a family-friendly space, and that was evident to me as I watched the mom next to me getting her craft thing on with her unbelievably talented little girl. But this is a truly stellar place to get to know or reignite your lovely. They do private classes, too, including birthday parties for kids, and from what I hear they have a mighty fine time. I'm just thrilled this biz is yet another solid local addition to a stretch of the North Valley that, I'm convinced, will be a huge hot spot once construction makes it bike and pedestrian friendly. read more

I've visited Canvas and Coffee a few times. I always find it a home like environment and really relaxing. Finding something to paint is easy enough. I go to the website and find something I like, I sign up and show up. I like open paint days too so I can pick whatever I want to do. I had my birthday party there and we had a wide range of ages and everyone really enjoyed it. I like that the kids can come and not have to deal with alcohol. The canvases or stenciled, so my painting usually looks great when I'm done! read more

This is an amazing place to come after a week of work or even just with some friends to get out of the house. The shop is incredibly welcoming and smells like gourmet coffee, hence the name, and showcases the beautiful prices she has created with people over time. Terry was incredibly patient and helpful throughout the process of painting and even took the time to help us individually when needed, which made me feel a bit more welcomed than some large classes do. I look forward to visiting Albuquerque again and making the time to come here to enjoy painting and hanging out with amazing people once again. I went to a fun girls night painting event. We had such a good time. We had dessert and we laughed, and we all left with beautiful paintings. I can't wait to go again. I brought my kids to one of the kids painting classes before. They had a ball and got to eat cookies and have tea while they painted. They both wish they could come every weekend. A friend of mine and I went here for the first time Friday night. Right away you feel right at home. The owners were so friendly and helpful. The other patrons were just as delightful to be with. The best thing about this was that my friend was having an off day. She reached a point where she just stopped painting. This is unusual for her to just give up like that. Terry was so kind and got a paint pen and outlined some of what she had painted, straightened up some lines and my friend was feeling better. Terry handed the pen to her so that she could do more or add wherever she wanted to. It was so nice to see the care that she has for those that come in. Terry is truly a beautiful lady inside and out. I personally will support the business by going back and I will recommend it to everyone because I know they will walk away happy with the experience and service. read more

The class itself was really fun! However I didn't appreciate the sexual comments from the instructors husband. I was there to paint and enjoy my time. Not to be harassed and sexualized infront of the whole room. There's no amount of "free painting classes" that could fix that. The fact that is was offered instead of an actual apology says everything. read more

Today was my first time here, I got lucky and got myself and two others in! You need to buy your seats ahead of time, they were about $35 each but I think it was worth it. I had a really good time here and they cater coffee, tea, hot cocoa and snacks to you! The owners are very helpful and continuously come around to check if you're doing good. My family members always enjoy the evening filled with laughter, coffee and dessert. Our family did a family painting class on New Year's Day and we had such a great time that we then had my daughter's birthday party here in March. There is something to please everyone here and Terry and Steve make it so fun, that even my reluctant teenager really enjoyed the class. The place is delightful and the atmosphere really enhances the whole experience.
