This is without a doubt the most trashed skatepark in Utah County, full of litter and loiterers…read more But it's also one of the best. Skaters will love the street course. Metal lipped ledges and platforms circumvent the bowls and banks area. Transition skaters will dig the 5'/8' kidney bowl. But it's not all good: The concrete's not the smoothest--in part because the amateur parks and rec clean-up decided to sandblast spraypaint off (this park is a big target for weak-sauce, art-free, wanna-be gangsta graffiti). The place is usually a mess (so bring a broom if you plan to skate the bowl). There's no gate to keep the local trash out after dark, so inevitably jr high kids will camp out in a bowl with their Doritos, Little Caesars, and generic 2l Mountain Dews. The final drawback is it's always crowded after 3pm, and typically dominated by bikes and scooters. The biker locals seem easy going. The scooter kids just get in the way. Then there's another crowd, a mixed bunch who don't skate, but bring bikes, yet just sit on the ledges and grass smoking cigs and drinking a mysterious liquid from imitation Sunny D bottles. They always have some girls who seem too young to smoke and a couple butt rockers who are creepy old. Still, come in the morning, or autumn lunch time afternoons. Avoid the crowd. Enjoy a beautiful shred in sight of some of Utah's most majestic mountains.

(Why would you want to chance getting hooked or tangled by someone's fishing line?) They've brought in sand for a makeshift beach which is nicer than sitting on rocks. The NO'S are as follows: No dogs, or other animals allowed. No bicycles, scooters, skateboards, rollerblades, roller skates No ATV's, motorcycles, motorized vehicles. No fires, fireworks No alcohol, No smoking, No e-cigarettes, and definitely no chewing tobacco. One nice thing about the reservoir is there are several hiking trails close by, but be careful... this is bear country according to the many signs that warn you.

There was a small quarter sand beach while the last 3/4 of the pond was surrounded by concrete beaches. The kids ended up having fun with it but I still thought it was weird. Where are the trees? Where is the shade? Ha! NOTE: the water is quite cold; we predicted about 60 degrees. Too cold for me but my kids enjoyed it on this 100 degree day! I appreciate any effort on the city to bring local parks and ponds for the public to enjoy.

I took my time doing the hike--listened to some music; noticed the different plants; took breaks; and then, took my headphones off to really soak in nature. It was so therapeutic. Once I reached the final point, I noticed it was quite packed when I went around fall season; and I'm not surprised. The weather was perfect to dip in the hot springs; and the colorful fall leaves made my experience extra vibrant. The water was clean; temperature of water varies depending on where you're sitting; and each area vary in size. As for someone who enjoys exploring and all the adventures, I decided to take my time to sit in each hot springs. Honestly, my favorite is the first one as the hiker approaches the start of hot springs. It's not big, but it's more secluded. It has a nice balance of shade and sunlight; little waterfalls; and some rocks to hop over and/or sit on. I felt as if it was part of my backyard, lol. I couldn't help but to take so much pictures. I'm definitely coming back again during the spring or summer to experience it differently.

The concept of a natural hot springs is to go during colder months and expect to walk a lot to get…read morethere since it is natural and secluded. We didn't want to pay for a hot spring since the other ones were busy and the "natural" element is no longer there. However, we weren't as prepared as we thought we were. We visited this hot spring in late December which meant a lot of the roads leading there were closed due to the snow. We walked about 1 mile before reaching the trailhead. Once you reach a sign that points straight and right, take the right to cross the small bridge towards the side of the mountain. Our saving grace was google maps but it wasn't fully accurate at times. Remember that once you cross that bridge, the river should stay on your right until you reach the springs. This trek was TOUGH and feels like 10 miles (when it's only about 5) because of the hills and thick snow/ice. We did not have spikes or sticks to help so we had to rely on each other and our surroundings. It took about 2.5 hours going since we didn't stop and were going fairly quickly and this is coming from someone who does not hike regularly. There was a portion of the hike that was a uphill climb using a rope which was probably the scariest part for me because it was icy and not stable (hence why spikes would help). Once you near the springs, the smell of sulfur becomes strong and the river begins changing color from clear to blue. There are 2 spots that is on google maps, the first one was very busy but it was not the main attraction. We kept walking and got to the actual fifth water hot springs which was still kind of busy but enjoyable. We got into both the hot springs and the cold springs and it was a very cool experience. The hike back was much faster since we knew where we were going but still hard. If you want to challenge yourself to a hike with a cool and relaxing reward of being in the hot springs, I would recommend this hike! I'm sure it's easier when it's not snowy/icy but being in naturally hot pools while your surroundings are covered in snow is beautiful and I would do this again. Tips: -We forgot towels which was a rookie mistake so make sure to take some! -Remember to take off any jewelry prior to going/getting in the hot springs because the sulfur will tarnish it. -Wear thick socks to avoid frozen toes. -The hike itself was beautiful so remember to look up and enjoy the scenery instead of always looking down at the trail. -Start EARLY because it will take at least half a day to complete

This Little Sahara Recreation Area was beyond gorgeous especially for a sunset photoshoot. The sand was nothing like I've ever experienced before. The sunset was absolutely beautiful! The only downfall is if you come out for a photoshoot be forewarned people have the entitled behavior that they don't care and will encroach your space. I had to tell a group of young kids to go play football somewhere else as I felt the football whiz near my head.

Amazing 'off the beaten path' experience in Utah! When I heard about Little Sahara I was like…read more'what? are you kidding me? like a real dune desert?' An oh boy, this is was better than expected and well worth the long ride (which was pretty scenic, to add to the joy). Sand, sand and more sand...plus miraculously those pretty yellow sunflowers that abound in Utah side walks! Tons of desert flowers in pockets. We just went for the visit (not ATVs or camping) and yes, $18 per vehicle is steep but I guess they have to control access otherwise that could be full of people camping around and not following the strict rules to avoid accidents. It was a marvelous experience to visit LIttle Sahara, I heard the sunsets from there are fantastic. It was very hot, so be sure you bring plenty of water and shade if you want to just 'be there in meditation mode' breathing the dust and looking how others play with their toys. Looks like it is also a popular place for photo shoots (for the ones who venture to go there), and there was a naked lady being surely Instagrammed. Sand and bare body is not a good match for me, but definitively a cool scenario to shoot cool pictures.
