I've lived there three months now. One VERY weird thing is that they won't let you see your actual…read moreapartment before you move in. It appears that they don't want you to find anything wrong with it and ask you to fix it. We clearly let them know that we would not sign the lease unless we saw the place, so they let us see it. The patio was tragically filthy! I mean, it looked like it was decorated for Halloween with spider webs and mud dobber nests. They said they couldn't get it very clean, but if we put in a work order after we moved in, they would go over it with a pressure cleaner, but it would only make the webs stick to the wall. (I've used a pressure cleaner, it would clean it.) I did put in a work request but they never even attempted to clean it. I cleaned it myself. I was pretty bad. Note - the patio on their 'show apartment' was spotless. Also, we're having some construction done on the intersection coming out of the apartment complex, which is a mess. It was the only open exit, and the construction added ten minutes to the morning commute. My husband asked about opening the back exit to the property, which i always closed. They told him the fire marshall won't let them open it. I don't know for sure, but I cannot imagine a fire marshall wanting to keep an exit closed, so I personally don't believe they were being honest with him. And I don't like being lied to. Whatever. A few days later, the exit was opened. I guess the fire marshall had a change of heart? The front office does seem to be less than helpful. Example: They require the first month's rent be paid with a cashier's check. I had a cashier's check made in the exact amount they e-mailed me. After we picked up our keys and I went back to work, I got a call that the check was $25 short. I said I''d bring it in the next day but I was too busy to handle it now. She acknowledged that the wrong amout on the email was her error, but threatened me with a late charge if I didn't pay $25 before closing. Petty as hell. Oh, and the appliances here are seriously bottom-of-the-line. Old stoves with those coil burners - I didn't even think they made them anymore. Dishwasher and washer-dryer are archaic. I really haven't seen appliances that old in a long time!! And there's carpet!! I didn't think people bought carpet anymore. Why four stars then? I actually like it there. The bad parts were mostly concerning the move-in process. I have a lake view and can walk my kayak across the street. I never have to deal with the front office - I put work orders in online and the maintenance guys are pretty nice. They've also done every work order the same day (with the exception of the patio fiasco). The people in neighboring apartments have been really nice and I've seen zero insects in my apartment. That would have been a deal breaker for me.

The staff was very helpful in getting me all the information I needed and helped get my paperwork done as soon as possible. I was able to sign my lease from a different state. They were very accommodating and even face-timed me to show me the exact apartment I would be living in per my request. On move in day I was able to get my keys promptly they even left a little welcome package in my apartment. The apartment itself was very clean, cozy and comfortable and in a very nice area. I loved the granite countertops and black appliances. We did a quick walkthrough to record any flaws in the apartment which weren't many. They have an online system that allows you to set up text and email messages to alert you when you receive a package. I didn't have any issues with mail and received all my packages. This is a family friendly and pet friendly neighborhood. I always felt safe here. It also has a lot of things within walking distance like grocery store, gym, bank, fast food, etc. I hardly had any maintenance issues come up but when I did, maintenance responded and resolved them within 48 hours. I lived on a second floor apartment so I didn't see many bugs. Maybe a spider or two but there is optional monthly pest control. You may not even need it. I had a couple of noise complaints while living here but like I said, it is a family friendly neighborhood. It's usually pretty quiet and kids are playing outside during the day. You may catch some bunnies hopping around at night too. Move out was a breeze. The paperwork was very quick and easy and they told me exactly how much I owed for my last month and what needed to be clean. I received my entire deposit back minus the last water bill. The only reason I moved out was because I relocated to a different state for work. If I had to stay in OKC, I would have remained in Highland Pointe. I highly recommend this apartment complex. If I could give it more stars I would. The rent prices are exceptional for what you are getting; especially compared to areas closer to central OKC.

But both sinks hot water in the apartment reaches a little over 120 degrees, which are perfect. The maintenance guy told me that all the one bedroom apartments have a 40 gallon water heater and that I need to make sure no one runs the hot water when I'm in the shower even the washer and dish water. Also my thermostat does not shut off the furnace. Making our electric bill over $160 each month. It just blows nearly warm out the vents, preventing the thermostat reach the temperature I set at 73 degrees in the winter. It sucks I have to go to Crunch Gym to take a HOT SHOWER after a long day at work. The bright side of it all is that the Leasing Office is doing their best to help us feel comfortable living in our apartment.

Then today because my videos weren't "proof enough" for Michelle the manager who told me I need to get a office member to witness these incidents with my neighbor, I went to go get Nancy at 1:50pm on Saturday who told me she'd be coming to my apartment and never did, when I watched her leave the office I asked her if she was still coming because I had been waiting an hour and she shrugged her shoulders and told me she was too busy and couldn't hit overtime. Wow, so the videos aren't enough and you're going to lie to me and tell me you're gonna come to my unit and just don't? These people do not care about your safety, well being and if I die I'd like to come back in my second life as one of these women in this office because they get paid to do NOTHING. finally I spoke to my neighbor who's giving us issues and he actually told me the women in the office TOLD him to blare music. This place is a joke, do not move here.

My husband and I extended our lease for an extra two months because our house would not be ready…read more When we did that, we also told them we would be moving out September 28th of 2017. We signed our papers and left the the office as they told us we were good to go and wouldn't need to be back until we turned the keys into them. September 27th comes around and I have a letter on my door saying thank you for renewing our lease through November. I politely go up to the office and tell them we did not renew it and are moving out the next day. They conveniently couldn't find any paper work saying we were moving out. Not to mention, they stated that they put several notices on our door saying we needed to fill out more paperwork. Not once did I receive any notice of the sort. I only received notices of inspections and sprinkler tests. Eventually after hassling with them, they say we are good to move out but have to forfeit our $250 deposit and THEY would place a stop payment on our account. We were told we could sign a paper (again) saying we were vacating when we turned our keys in. We signed our paper, turned our keys in, and left on the 28th of September. We just thought that would be the end of it. Here we are September 4th and they have deducted rent ($930) from our account on the 3rd. My husband called and was told that we would have to bring a bank statement up to the office and they would send it to corporate and fix it. I took the statement up to the office and the "senior manager" stated that she "called and left a voicemail saying we would have to call our bank to do a stop payment because they couldn't with it being that close to rent being due." Which, I understand and would have done so. However, I NEVER ONCE received a call or voicemail stating that! For that matter, my husband didn't either. I even double checked that they had the correct phone numbers on file. Which, they should have because they haven't changed since we moved in. Clearly there are incompetent staff here. Not to mention, they are the absolute WORST when it comes to communicating with their tenants let alone each other. We were told our bank statement got faxed to corporate. I have since requested proof that it was faxed and have put a call into corporate myself. I understand that it is a business to them, but the fact that they show absolutely not motivation to fix THEIR mistake makes me absolutely irate. I absolutely DO NOT recommend this place to anyone. Sure they are decent apartments, but it's not worth the hassle that comes with it. If you chose to still move here, make sure every single piece of paperwork you fill out, you get a copy of it! Then, make sure you call and double check that they actually did what they said they would do with it. We didn't realize we needed to remind them to do their jobs. We thought that is what management was for. We were clearly wrong.
