While I respect that caterers get busy or fully booked, completely ignoring a direct inquiry is disappointing for a hospitality business. I've taken my business elsewhere.

When I sent my menu to her in May she said she had booked someone else so I had to find a new caterer and lucky me - we got the perfect one! SJ was great to work with - very accommodating and had answers to all our questions. But of course, it's ultimately about the food, and Lickskillet knocked it out of the park!! The presentation was really beautiful, the servers were excellent and the food -- just WOW -- everything was absolutely delicious from the little 'tea'-sized chic salad sandwiches, to the fruit -- seriously, I don't know where they got this fruit but the blackberries were huge and so sweet! to the cheese plate, very elegant and delicious cheeses, to the wonderful bite-sized cheesecake and key lime bites. If I ever have to plan another event I will absolutely call SJ -- their chef knows his stuff. I tried calling Dorothy the morning of the wedding with some questions and to confirm last minute details, yet never heard back from her. When I saw her at the wedding reception, she acted busy and not concerned with my questions. She brushed me off, responded annoyingly to me saying she doesn't have a cell phone and was doing a wedding that morning. I'm sorry, but you cannot be in catering and NOT have a cell phone. It was 2012 at the time. She had a bad attitude and was incredibly snappy with me. I was an extension of the customer and her customer service was lacking. Her food was okay at best. The wedding had around 70 guests and they couldn't keep up, which I've had dinner parties for that many and I've kept up. She and her staff arrived looking incredibly frumpy with oversized sweatshirts over black pants & white tops. She also puts a 5x7 portrait advertising herself and a huge, unattractive frame advertising at the wedding. I would highly suggest looking elsewhere for your catering needs.

We felt like we were being manipulated into signing with him because " we were like friends" he quoted us about 8,000 to feed 100 people. The so called friend rate. After our meeting we started getting harassing emails/ phone calls pressuring us for the 8000. ( again this was 1 year prior to our wedding and all we did was have a first time consultation) when we told him we were not going to use him Michael demanded 1000 or he would sue us for the full amount. We got a lawyer. We did not owe him anything since no services were given. Good luck to any one who reads this. We hope no one has to go through what we did so please be cautious and don't let them strong arm you!!!

We originally booked Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch for our September 2026 wedding but ultimately canceled…read more8 months in advance due to multiple concerns that arose during the planning process. One major issue was the venue tasting, which unfortunately did not reflect the quality or level of organization we expected. Communication was inconsistent -- our coordinator changed during the process, but we were never formally notified or introduced to the new coordinator beforehand. The tasting itself raised several concerns: * Food and appetizers were very disappointing and did not appear to represent the venue's higher-value menu options * No food labels were provided, which made it difficult to identify dishes (ironically the only labeled item on the appetizer table was the hand sanitizer bucket) * Multiple food safety concerns were observed * Buffet service ran 15-20 minutes behind schedule * Service details were disorganized (no cloth napkins, no straws until requested, incorrect utensils provided) * Staff repeatedly opened the outdoor doors, making the dining area cold enough that guests were wearing winter jackets There were also logistical issues such as no microphone or greeting to start the tasting and no closing remarks or communication from staff. After this experience, we decided to cancel our booking well in advance of the wedding date. Unfortunately, the contract language regarding refunds proved ambiguous. Although only our deposit was due at the time, we had made additional payments early. When we canceled, the venue refunded 50% of the total amount paid to date rather than 50% of the deposit, which resulted in us losing $1,800. My recommendation to future couples is to review the cancellation terms extremely carefully and avoid making payments earlier than required until you fully understand how refunds are calculated.

The event spaces overlook this view as well and make the event that much more special. Attended a party here and it was nicely done. The catering was good as was the bar service. Very professional. The service was efficient sometimes too much so as they cleaned up items you were still eating or drinking. The rooms and bathrooms are modern and clean. Neutral backdrops for whatever color scheme or theme you desire. It is a must see place to celebrate!

To make it "challenging" they have ridiculous pin placements, almost putt putt course style, and their decision to put deep bunkers along/in the fairways where you have to lay up on your second shot is insane. Fine if it's a bunker, but forcing a layup near or in the fairway is extreme. Practice area is nice. Service in getting a cart and returning the cart is very lacking. Doesn't make you feel like you're at a TPC or even the great attention and service you get at a Troon course.

This is the only negative review I've written about any of our wedding vendors. We went with these guys because they were in Fort Collins since we got married near there, they seemed reasonable in price (cheaper than most of those we got quotes from), and they had good reviews overall. However... I was not impressed. They started out seemingly easy to speak with and get info from, but immediately after we made a down payment I started struggling with them and it continually got worse the closer we got to our wedding. There were times I felt they lacked in responsiveness to questions we had, they were unhelpful and often rude in answering questions the closer we got to the wedding, and made our payment process super difficult (we accidentally cut a check that was an over payment and instead of simply providing a refund they added stress to our plate by voiding the check and making us render new payment - I've not had other vendors in the past do something like that so I was super shocked at how unprofessional they were in handling this, and this was never discussed with us as a company policy of theirs so we were caught off guard). Even being on the other side of our event by a couple weeks I'm still so frustrated with how we were treated. Also, I recommend to all other couples looking to get married carefully read the fine print, they will gauge you for anything they can (be it removing a line item and being fined for it or outrageous cost for setup that they didn't discuss ahead of time). I felt like the closer we got to the wedding the harder and more frustrating they were to work with, and didn't even give us an adequate delivery time window until basically right before the wedding which was very difficult when we were trying to juggle so much stuff at the same time. Thankfully everything got delivered and picked up and seemingly without trouble, but ultimately I will never again rent from them and wouldn't recommend them to others. Additionally the owner's inability to take feedback and work with a customer to remedy their experience shows to me a lack of effective leadership and a disregard for their customers. Ultimately to me reiterates that had I known then what I know now, I wouldn't have done business with them.
