The showroom was pretty nice and the store is located off Allwood Rd. Down a side street which I didn't even know was there so it is very easy to miss. The stores associate was helpful and it was easy to send. There are a lot of baskets to choose from with wine, cheese, meats, chocolates, and nuts the most popular. One thing to take note of is that if you are shipping something with cheese or another perishable you are gonna have to pay for a quicker delivery. It's gonna cost you about an additional $30. The items are a bit pricey but look nice. Due to this experience I wouldn't hesitate to use Capalbo's again. read more

Purchased an online baby gift basket for almost $200 to be mailed to a co worker....The color doesn't match, we ordered purple - the items delivered were Pink - and they are the cheapest looking items I've ever seen. I cannot believe we spent this much money on a such an inferior gift for our good friend/co-worker. So embarrassed!!!! I will say that although it is pricey, my wife and her family have been using them for many years without issue. My wife's family has used them easy 40+ times. I have never been on the receiving end of one of the baskets, but those that have, tell me is great! I will reiterate that it is on the pricey side, but they take care of everything... Edible arrangements is pricey also lol, but id rather deal with a locally owned biz. They have baskets / boxes with all kids of wine and champagne, along with cheese and crackers. They also have fruit and cookie boxes as well. If they don't have a pre-thought of combo, they can make custom baskets for you. On our most recent purchase, we got a nice little box with a red, cheese, cheese spread, figs, crackers. My wife purchased it online, and it was ready for us at 1 PM for pickup. When I got there, the lady behind the counter wasn't wearing a mask, but she quickly put it on lol! This is during covid... I told her that I was here for a pickup, and she tried to tell me how much i owed, but I said very quickly, my wife already paid for it. she quickly replied oh yes, I see that now... She should be a little bit slower with that stuff... All in all, great places to get gift baskets for any occasion. I am not going to list them here... Received a Capalbo's Italian-themed *Gourmet* gift basket (# on the card 600 IF358953) on 8/12/22 from my husband's employer for the passing of his dear father on 8/8. While it was a wonderful sentiment of sympathy, the gift contained: rotten fruit, caramel & brittle that had melted then hardened again (namely - the Light & Crispy Peanut Brittle that was stuck together in one disgusting clump that was chewy, sticky, stale, and inedible and also the Milk Chocolate Drizzled Popcorn of the same condition & poor quality ~ never experienced that with Harry & David). In addition to items that claimed to be products of Italia but made in Turkey (??). Their products and supposed 100% satisfaction guarantee have zero quality control or any integrity behind them. I'm sure my husband's employer spent a good dollar and had the best intentions when ordering and sending this gift. Only to be sending (unbeknownst to them of course) a basket that was stale, partially melted, chewy, contained rotten fruit that was damaged and dripping juice, poor quality items, and overall awful & disappointing. If you are in the position where you need or want to send someone you care about a gift (whether it be for a birthday, sympathy, a holiday, congrats, etc.), avoid the embarrassment and disappointment of the recipient. Do yourself a favor and AVOID CAPALBO'S. Consider Edible Arrangements, Harry & David, Godiva, Nuts(dot)com, Omaha Steaks...just AVOID CAPALBO'S disappointing and low-quality baskets. Customer service was awful. I received a gift basket for my birthday. While it was a wonderful sentiment from a family member. The gift contained chocolate that had melted and then harden again. No big deal I thought. But it also contained tree nuts. I have a toddler with a severe nut allergy. I tried calling them since they had a 100% satisfaction guarantee and asked if I could return it and was told I would have to pay for shipping. I tried explaining that I was a single mom and can't work because of COVID. I have no extra money to ship something back. The customer service rep was cold and told me to just donate it, "problem solved." I then told her I spent a whole night in the ER because my child barely touched one of the candies. To which she said the gift basket wasn't intended for him. Any mamas know that keeping sweets from a exploring child is near impossible. I do my best again it's just me in the house. I'm just exhausted. Not satisfied at all. Someone who doesn't have that much money spent their hard earn money on this and I am simply asking for them to be refunded. And show some compassion. I cannot pay the shipping fee and am just asking that they send me a label. Simple compassion. All I have to say is this place is horrible. I'm in tears. They don't care about making something right. This is the first year I purchased from Capalbo's Gift Baskets in New Jersey. I ordered half a dozen various wine gift baskets online as presents for the upcoming holidays (none of them had fruit since they were all shipped via ground shipping, instead we went with baskets that had wine accompanied with snacks, dry meats, chocolates, etc.) and they were delivered on time as expected. They have a wide variety of gift baskets to choose from that already included the price of shipping which was a plus for us. Our recipients all called to say much thanks, that they were really impressed with all their gift baskets. I've been doing business with Capalbos Fruit Baskets for many years. I found their fruits were outstanding. Last two years I purchased a 12-month plan. My niece has been receiving them on a timely basis. The other week she called and said 'I finally have to tell you Uncle, that the fruits have become spoiled and not of the quality they used to be. I can't have you gifting us with fruits that we find them to be of a lesser quality than we can buy at a local supermarket. I'm sorry Uncle.' And, there you have it. I feel like hiding behind a door. I complained to Capalbos. They replied the fruits would be replaced. My niece is still waiting. If you want to gift a friend or relative with a fruit basket I'd advise you to search for another company which maintains it's quality of product, as promised in their marketing ads. I ordered a $100.00 wine basket from Capalbo's from Winebasket.com for my sister-in-law's 75th birthday. Since this was a important birthday, I ordered it 6 days in advance to be delivered on or before her birthday. I just learned the basket will not be delivered until the day after her birthday. Capalbo's claims there is nothing they can do. What a disappointment that Capalbo's did not ship out two days in advance if they were aware of a problem. A lady I spoke with on the day I ordered advised there should be no problem getting a basked delivered on a particular date. I (wrongly) assumed they would ship so that the basket would be delivered by the requested date. I will never order from Capalbo's again based on their poor customer service. Thumbs down. read more

Recently I ordered a sympathy basket and addressed it incorrectly. Customer Service was great in assisting me. The person who received it by accident returned it to Fedex and Capalbos received it back. They were able to resend it to the correct address. We received a white wine gift box for Christmas. The wine is okay, so was the two pieces of candy, the smoked provolone cheese just ok and the ingredients on the 3 pepper crackers didn't list any pepper & very processed. The "fresh from the orchard" fruit still had UPC stickers on them, I guess to show the variety. Which was everyday Red & Green Delicious apples and Bartlett & Anjou pears. Out of the six pieces of fruit, 3 were badly bruised and the red apple tasted awful. I would have been upset if I had sent this box as a gift w damaged fruit. Absolutely 0 Stars. This is the parent company to winebasket.com which does not have their own yelp page - so I leave this review here. Shipping issues happen - sometimes unavoidable or at no one's fault - but how you handle the issues is solely the discretion of the business who shipped it. I placed an order with windebasket.com on 12/14 with a payment of an extra $39 to have it overnighted to be rec'd on 12/16 (figured a 60th birthday surprise was worth the little extra). Unfortunately the business location of the recipient refused it due to the contents having alcohol - I can understand that - not winebasket.com's fault. Once it was refused,it went back to them, without any notification to me or any alternative options. When I called the next day to figure out what could be done, asked if I could get it re-routed or pickit up at a fed-ex location, Henry "the Fed-ex guy" said that nothing could be done it was already headed back to them so I asked to speak with a supervisor and I left a message for Kate. I missed her return call, so when I called back (now on Fri,12/18), I spoke with Beverly, who tried very hard to help, but could not, so I again asked to speak to Kate,I was given her voicemail so I left another message and I waited. By Wed 12/23, no return call, I tried again. I spoke with William, who also tried to assist (researched, called me back, tried to connect me to a Kate), but was told there was nothing he could do to process my order to get it in a reasonable time where there were no excessive fees to myself. He could not answer the following to help me figure out what the best course should be. I asked "why was the package sent back to NJ and not given an alternative delivery/pick-up option?", "Why was my call to Kate not returned?", "Why when the package was delivered back to your facilities (confirmed it was received on Mon,12/21) was I not contacted/informed?" His repeated understanding of how I felt could not reconcile the situation so again a request to speak with Kate, after another hold, I was met with her voicemail again, left another message asking for a timely return call or I would try again later that same day. I had to try again and this time I spoke with Leslie. Of all the reps who really tried to help but who's hands were tied by supervisor Kate, she was by far the most unpleasant. After having to explain the situation again, even though I strongly asked to just speak with Kate, she asked for the details of the situation, which I gave (with an apology for the frustration in my voice in which she responded she "understood how I felt"). After being told again that nothing could be done that wouldn't result in an excessive charge or a very lengthy delay, I again asked to speak to Kate and also offered to hold. After the adamant refusal to speak with me because she was busy and "I would end up holding until next week" per Leslie, I asked for who she Kate reports too, in which Leslie informed me that Supervisor Kate is "the Boss" and reports to "God". Another lengthy hold and a reconciliation was finally received where they agreed to ship it 2 day express to my home in lieu of the recipient (only option I had at this point really) at their cost, but due to the timing/sched - still due to arrive 6 days later. Had Supervisor Kate called me back last Fri or even Mon or Tues, or a general notification on Mon when the package was actually received back at their location, this could probably have been avoided, but sadly, I was never given the privilege of speaking with her. This company really needs to evaluate their shipping methods and update their website to inform users of shipping processes and their use of Fed-ex (ie Fed-ex doesn't deliver on Sun/Mon, extra cost for Sat, 21 year old sign. req policy, etc.), as I am sure I am not the 1st person's who's gift was refused by a business due to the contents being alcohol. Seeing as this business' specialty involves shipping alcohol, you would there would be more on their customer service page. They should also evaluate Kate and Leslie. I don't understand how you can be a supervisor and refuse to speak with a customer. William's and Beverly tried their hardest to help a frustrated customer and where nothing but pleasant, agreeable and understanding. Leslie was not. She was condescending and insufferable, 2 qualities that don't make for good customer service. I have voiced my frustration repeatedly and apologized for my frustrating tone but never did I actually attack her character or say anything negative or derogatory directly to Leslie regarding herself. A few of Leslie's choice words included "it's not our problem if your recipient doesn't want a present from you" and once it was determined to just ship to my home so I could self-deliver, I said I would change my schedule to make it so I could be here to accept it, her response "Obviously you'll be there - who else would be" This is truly UNACCEPTABLE behavior. read more

I ordered a fruit basket from Capalbos online for a sympathy gift. I paid for van delivery. Due to an error with the address it did not get to the recipient. While trying to find out what happened I found out that they left the basket, comprised completely of fresh fruit, on a doorstep in 30 degree weather. I was never notified of the delivery. The only email I got said that it was confirming the order and when it would be delivered. It was delivered a day later than the email said. We found out that it went to the recipients previous address. So I was informed by a nasty customer service representative who told me it was my own fault and that I had to buy a new basket because they did what they were supposed to do. When I pointed out that it was stolen, he informed that no in fact it wasn't. Again it was my fault. I pointed out that it was left unattended and was not returned and did not get to the recipient and his answer was I guess we could ask fed ex to go back and ask for it but don't expect that to work out. So again, I was told to rebuy the basket and oh he can offer me 20 percent off because that's the best he could do. A company that size has the ability to make things right gor their customers. I don't understand why there are any bad reviews at all and I would give Capalbo's 6 stars if possible. I ordered a basket from Canada to be delivered to my friends in the US. Capalbo's shipped it out on time but it took FEDEX 3 days to deliver, and then say that they left the package at the front door, when what really happened was the driver told the recipients, who were outside at the time, that he has a delivery for their address, but he had nothing in the truck so he left. I let Capalbo's know what had happened as an FYI and they took the initiative and sent a replacement and it arrived within 24 hours. This was not their fault nor has FedEx even replied back to me yet on my complaints. I would order again gladly, as ever since I had an initial problem submitting an international order they have been nothing but kind, professional and went above and beyond by providing me with the best customer service I have received in years !! I agreed to give it one more day. Today I got the complete runaround. No package. No refund. I was told that when the package (that nobody can find) is returned to them, I will get a refund. I ordered a Christmas gift basket from Capalbo's in early/mid-December. The basket was never received by the intended recipient, and I was never notified of this until I saw my family member and asked them. I called Capalbo's (over a month later) since I was never notified of this, and never received a credit. They said they "just received the item back that day", and told me they would re-ship the item for FREE as a courtesy. For whatever reason, the item was "never received" again (I was told nothing was received from FedEx as they had claimed). When the item was returned, they said that I would get $15 deducted for a returned item fee. When I asked about it being "Free as a courtesy", they gave me the runaround and ended up deducting it anyways. Horrible customer service, horrible follow-up. BUYER BEWARE!!! I recently sent two expensive sympathy fruit baskets. I ordered the "Cream of the Crop" (cost close to $90.00)and the "Dulce Vita"(Cost $70.00). I have used this company MANY times prior to this order and have always assumed and felt confident that my friends and family were receiving the beautifully displayed baskets shown on the website. NOT SO!! I asked my friend to send me a picture of the basket she received. It was nothing as it appeared on the website!! I was very shocked and disappointed in how the basket looked. It looked very ordinary, like something I could have made myself. I called and spoke to the customer service manager who assured me there had to have been a mistake and that she would have the baskets sent again. Much to my dismay, the baskets received the second time looked just like the first with a different bow, and again also did not look at all like the website. Upon calling the customer service manager again, she stated that is how they have to fill the basket for it to be shipped. I informed her that there is nothing to indicate that the baskets received will NOT LOOK LIKE THEY DO ON THEIR WEBSITE, and that for the amount of money I spent the baskets should have looked better presented.
