My first appointment was at the Plymouth location but I switched to the Wareham location because it was closer to my house. I was glad I did because I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed going to this office more. The entire team is very friendly, and they explain everything each step of the way. Dr. Patel is a great dentist! I had to get a crown and a permanent dental implant on two of my front teeth. I was extremely worried about how it was going to look when I was done but I had my final appointment after 3 months of constant visits and I am so happy with the new smile I have today. The office manager, Stephanie was very friendly and Nicole, the dental assist was very patient with all of my anxiety issues. They are a great staff and I am glad I went there.

That being said I had three teeth extracted over a week ago and I'm still in excruciating pain but no worries when I called the emergency number they didn't answer for 15 minutes when they finally did answer it was an answering service. I left a message with the service. She told me that if they didn't call back in two hours and if I was still in pain to go to the emergency room as if the emergency room can help dental issues. They took it upon themselves to schedule me another appointment, which I naïvely thought was due to my emergency call earlier in the week my mistake they wanted to proceed. With impressions and such. With no concern for the amount of pain and discomfort that I'm in. When I described to the Dentist, what my issues were he told me it was totally normal and that I'd be fine! So no, I would not recommend Aspen dental!!!

Please…read moreunderstand that just because someone has 1 or 2 bad experiences with a doctor or another care physician or with anyone or anything else your reviews should be an overall review of all the experiences you've had with that particular person, place or thing. Having 1 or 2 bad experiences in a 5 year period is the lesser of and will not be reported. When I do my reviews I look at all my positive experiences compared to all my negative experiences and I weigh the positive vs the negative. If the positives out weigh and tip the scale on the negatives a "fair" review will be given. I do not place the "negative" under my reviews unless the negatives clearly out weigh the positives. Please understand that no one is perfect not even you and sometimes things happen that are out of the doctors and patients control. So this review is based on an overall review of my 5 years experience with Dr. Robert McGowen. Dr Robert McGowen deserves a good review. Before I go to any doctor I write down all my signs and symptoms on a piece of paper so I can go over how I'm feeling and also so I won't forget anything that I need to share with my physician. Dr. Robert McGowen is intentive to listening to all my needs and concerns. He has referred me out to other specialty doctors that specialize in cases that he's not specially affiliated with. He has sent me to a fantastic ear, nose and throat doctor in Boston that did surgery on me and I "thank" him for referring me. Dr. McGowen refers me to doctors that he himself goes to. He's upfront, honest and sincere in his conversations with me and I like that. He's quick to fill my needed prescriptions on a timely manner and his office staff is intentive to my needs. I utilize the "mychart" website and I find it very useful to email him and my other doctors that are affiliated with South Coast. I email my concerns and even make appointments. MyChart gives me my lab results, radiology reports, visit summary, appointment reminders, and other helpful and useful information. I have a woman named Lucy that calls me monthly from his office to check up on me to see if I need anything and she is amazing. She's very helpful, professional, friendly and knowledgeable. If I need anything she forwards it over to his office for a response. South Coast Physicians Group in Wareham, MA has come along way since 5 years ago and I'm proud to say that I'm grateful and thankful for all of them that work there. They all do their best to help you the best to their ability. Thank you Dr. McGowen :)

Walking through the Edaville amusement park on a very hot late summer day, we noticed our son was…read morehaving trouble walking. When he lowered his pants, I could see he had been bit by something and was having a terrible reaction, centralized behind his knee. We went to the park's First Aid; and they urged us to immediately go to a hospital or to the Southcoast Health Urgent Care facility (15 minute drive from the park). Since our son is ASD, I didn't want to subject him to an interminable wait at an emergency room. I called my insurance, since we were vacationing from New York, and they said our son's visit would be covered at 90% (our family hits our deductible immediately every year). On arrival, mid Sunday afternoon, there was one person ahead of us; and the monitor in the waiting room stated the wait would be 1:10. Upon check-in I emphasized my son is autistic and it would be very hard for him to wait so long ... perhaps it was a glitch with the monitor, but they ended up taking him inside within a few minutes, thankfully. I was impressed with everyone's professionalism, from the person taking his history at intake, to everyone involved in his eventual procedure. I noticed (as it should be) everything was spotless. Everyone, even the maintenance man performing a repair in the waiting room, was patient with our son. A Nurse Practitioner advised us she could drain pus from his leg, but, if he was too resistant to the lidocaine injection, he might not accept the scalpel she would use to drain the abcess. So we agreed to have her scalpel without administering the lidocaine. I did request a numbing spray, which was used, but it just scared him. The Nurse Practitioner asked an orderly to come in and help us hold him down. My son made him turn red! My son screamed a lot! In fact, our daughter, who was waiting for us in the reception area, said everyone could hear him. But, if we hadn't done this, we would have had to have gone to a hospital, and do this under sedation. After, the procedure, our son was ok; and he got a popsicle. I got a very detailed outtake form. We were able to fill his antibiotics prescription conveniently in the CVS located in the Target in the same shopping center as the urgent care facility. We were told to return in two days to follow up. Writing this after a few months have passed, in Brooklyn, with my son looking over my shoulder, he is reading this and remembers what happened. He says the nurse was nice. This memory does not upset him. Furthermore, I was very worried about what we would be charged for both visits, since what he had is considered surgery. I am happy to report the out of pocket was incredibly reasonable. In fact, we spent more on eating after our two visits, than on the out of pockets for both visits. Although I hope you don't need to ever use it, I highly recommend the Southcoast Urgent Care facility in Wareham, MA. *The urgent care facility is located in the Wareham Shopping Center which is not to be missed! It has a Black Dog Outlet, Target, LL Bean Outlet, and Sally Beauty. The Black Dog in particular runs end of season sales that are great for stocking up. I purchased about twenty items of clothing, and got a free canvas Black Dog bag, for approximately $150*
