Terrible customer service department. They do not hire enough people to handle all of the phone calls on their main line. If you are Lucky you only have to wait fifteen minutes for them to answer. Normally you want to be transferred to the branch where you do business. When they transfer you to the branch, you give up after ten minutes because the teller line is never answered. You call back and then get thek we are buy, please lease a message. If you are Lucky they will call back in three or four hours. I am thinking that when they interview people, they give them a final statement after the intekrview. It says, If you tell me right now you do not care about customer service, I want to ask you when can you start. read more

Love CCU! We usually bank at the Huron Rd. location, but will drop in on other branches from time to time. Customer service is quick and friendly, they always have a smile for my boys when they come in, and they are efficient and know their business. They get me in and out the door on my way. In my experience The Credit Union does not support the Customer and more importantly does not protect your money. Having a long term account is actually a detriment for you as they do not protect your money and then blame you as the account owner and not cover the loss you have because of their weak antiquated processes. They do not even check the name of the person setting up ACH from your accounts. Doing the right thing? I wish they would. read more

When I purchased my vehicle the dealership used Capital Credit Union because their rates were lower. I've had the loan for about a year and I am able to pay it off early. I called the CU to get the pay off and was quoted the exact amount I owe with the interest! I asked about the interest portion and the person informed me that they do not credit back the interest for paying off a loan early. I have my personal banking at Community First and told them of Capital's policy regarding auto loans and was informed that they don't do it that way. The banker I spoke with could not believe Capital would not credit back the interest when paying off early. I wish I had insisted on going through Community First for the loan. I decided to keep my money in Community First and get interest on the money rather than give a large amount to Capital Credit Union and lose that interest since I won't be saving any interest at Capital Credit Union by paying my loan off early. read more

I've only done business at the Morris Branch. When you approach the receptionist, you walk by windowed offices and observe CSRs focused on their cell phones. I'm convinced they love to make you wait; perhaps it's a game. When I eventually met with a CSR, I felt as if I was interrupting his free time. He was clueless about my relationship with CCU and told me to jump through unnecessary hoops because I had docs on file that addressed his concerns. If he had only checked; but I had to tell him. He offered me a CD rate lower than the advertised rate; I had to correct him. Where does CCU find someone like this? Are they so desperate that the bottom fish? When I visit Community First Credit Union I'm treated respectfully; they appreciate my business. If you're searching for a Credit Union, choose CFCU. If you need a bank choose Associated. If you enjoy disappointment, choose CCU. read more

After reading these reviews I can see I'm not the only frustrated customer that agrees they only care about money. Been a customer for over 30 years and even though all my loans have been paid off early in the past they refuse to work with me. I was actually told by Ivonne well no one made you sign the loan, and well if you don't like the payment just sell your camper. Seriously? Might as well have said go to hell. And selling it would be less than I owe and would still have to pay them for something I don't have. And they basically said oh well. In this day and age where so many people are struggling I highly recommend going somewhere where people care and actually care. read more

Capital CU is all about the money, your money. I finally closed all my accounts and went to a online bank. I'm no longer being hit with fees and have much more control of my finances. Thier online security made it difficult to navigate my accounts, resulting in frustration leading to problems. I no longer need thier brick and mortar, tellars and CU with a huge advertising budget to support with my fees. Life and my family budget could not be more better off now that I am away from this outfit. read more

Terrible customer service. Constant misinformation, payments incorrectly allocated by reps resulting in late fees which I then have to repeatedly sit on the phone about until I can find someone who will correct it. And never with an apology, just RUDENESS. read more

Horrible customer service. Just got a vehicle loan from them. Received loan info on July 8th with payment due July 10th. Called to pay and register online. Had to have them set up account. Waiting online number 17 on que. Finally talked to a RUDE online specialist. Her phone was cutting in and out (she admitted it was hers) but then was extremely annoyed I had to have repeat things. After all the run around told it would be 3-5 days to process so payment would still be late. Then she would not set up my online account because only my husband was listed on the savings account (the stupid $5 one you have to do when you get a loan). MY NAME is on the loan also but I guess you have to be the "man" in order to do business with them. Unable to help or take a payment over the phone. Seriously you are a credit union and will not take phone payments! Will drive the 45 minutes on a Saturday morning to pay the damn loan by due date and then will promptly transfer loan to my credit union that actually wants to help people!!! read more

I've been a member of Pioneer Credit Union since I was a child. I now have two kids who are also members. Some bumps that were to be expected with the merger and Capital CU. Recently have been working on trying to get an auto loan and the customer service has been some of the worst I've ever experienced. I'm a loan officer myself and if I handled my business/clients the way I'm experiencing currently, I'd be broke. My loan officer Sharon never answers her phone and doesn't return calls. I spoke with Annette a branch manager in Oshkosh who ASSURED me she would have a loan officer reach out to me that day. NOTHING. Sad to say, but I've been a member for over 30 years and will most likely be taking my business elsewhere. read more

DO NOT USE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE ROBBED. The "overdraft Protection" they don't tell you exactly how it works so we overdrafted a lot more than I expected because I thought only one item would go through, but they actually opened a $700 line of credit. THey refunded some payments but now I have NSF because of pending transactions (Like when the gas station holds $75 to make sure there's money there when you only spend $30)! And they refuse to refund the NSF fees because "They told me in July how it works" THEY NEVER STATED PENDING TRANSACTIONS WOULD COUNT AGAINST IT. I thought if I got the money in the account before it went over I would be okay- which is how it's always worked before with old banks. The customer service is RUDE!!!! They are not helpful at all, have no sympathy, they are all heartless to anything going on. ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS THE $$$$$. Coming from a credit union that actually cared about me as a human and the troubles I was having, I find this appalling for such a small credit union to be acting like the big banks (Associated etc.). I went here because I loved the service my friend got through Pioneer, but since Capital has taken over they are disgusting. I have NEVER been treated like this by a company that I chose. I admit, I made mistakes, and I didn't ask them to do anything about those. But when I asked for help over a policy I didn't initially understand due to their poor banker that initially set up the account, they flat out refuse. People make mistakes and Capital doesn't care- all they want is MORE MONEY MORE MONEY MORE MONEY. If you like being robbed and being treated like crap- bank here. If you like humanity, assistance when something's wrong or misunderstood PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Especially the Velp avenue location manager. She is especially heartless and rude. My father recently passed away so I am helping my mother with her on-line banking. She has been a member of Capital (formerly Pioneer) Credit Union for over 25 years. The mis-information I have received from various people within the company in regards to how to handle the account for my mother has been nothing short of horrendous! The people have certainly been kind and friendly, my beef is in the organizations training. The answers I received about how to handle the issues of getting my mom's account straightened out have changed with each person I've talked to. A death of a customer should be a very standard procedure. Four months after my dad's death, they have JUST informed us that we need to provide a death certificate. My mom brought one in just after he passed away and was told they didn't need one. Each time I call in with (the same) issue (which hasn't yet been resolved), I get a new person and have to tell my story all over again - my dad passed away and I'm trying to get my mom's account (which she is joint on) straightened out. Each time they reassure me that they will take care of it. Here I am with the same issue and no resolution on something that should be very routine. Having my father pass away is painful enough - I shouldn't be going through this banking nightmare! Get your act together Capital CU! read more

I visited the Main Ave. location to cash out a trust without an appointment and was told no one could meet with me. Understandable. The teller scheduled a noon appointment for me and when I returned for my scheduled appointment, I waited a half an hour until I was told that the employee I was scheduled to see was no longer available and I would have to come back again. She tried to call all of the area branches to see me and no one was available at any of the locations. I called the following morning to a different branch to set up an appointment and was put on hold while a customer service employee was setting up another appointment and was then hung up on while waiting on hold. I still do not have an appointment to handle the business I need to take care for my job. I hope I never have to work with Capital One Credit Union again and I am glad they are not taking care of my personal banking needs. read more
