    Beautiful stairwell

We've stayed at this beautiful Little Rock hotel over the years. They are currently doing a property "refresh" so our beloved "One Eleven"' restaurant was closed for dinner when we arrived. Our standard room was, as usual, well appointed, meticulously clean and comfortable. The bath toiletries were a cut above as well. For evening turn-down service we were handed bottled water. The second floor included a lovely terrace that we used while waiting for our meal reservation elsewhere. Check out the guest elevator too. It's the biggest I've ever seen! Valet parking is $30 / day and we found the service fast. If the main restaurant ever reopens for evening meals, we will be certain to return for a hotel stay.

This place is absolutely beautiful! There is so much to look at. There are so many places to see. You can hang out outside.. inside upstairs downstairs. It's all so beautiful Christmas time is a wonderful time to visit!

Beautiful hotel. We are normally Marriott, Hilton and Hyatt VIPs but decided to come here despite not getting any rewards points. Stayed in a grand executive suite and it's gorgeous. I love the lobby! The room was spacious and fun to hang out in.

The Capital Hotel. waitress Kaitlyn provided exceptional service. She understood the hotel from front to back a true historian.

Yesterday, 24 May 2022 I had the best breakfast and it really wasn't the food as much as it was the Service. Kaitlyn provided exceptional service. Kaitlyn was so I attentive to everything required and her understanding of the hotel history was outstanding which made for great conversation not just the typical "what would you like" service. She is a must keep and should be promoted to a position of more responsibility. Great food and service for my morning breakfast. Thanks Kaitlyn!!

This hotel is elegant, regal and classic. Since my first and only stay here was during the holiday season, it was decked to the max, like something out of a Christmas movie. The lobby and common areas are grand and the hotel rooms are traditional, clean and inviting. (And the pecan brittle that was wrapped and waiting for me on my bed was a welcoming touch!) Since my trip was a quick one, I didn't really get to experience the bar and restaurants on the main level but was pleased to see that I could grab a beverage of the caffeinated variety downstairs any time I needed one. If you're thinking about staying here, I'd check the rates at different times because there seems to be some significant range depending on when you look at it. When booking for myself, I found a rate around $200 a night, went back a few days later it was up to high $300s and when I checked again a few days later it was back to around $200 a night once again (all for the same date.) But if you do end up staying here, I'm pretty confident you'll be satisfied with your decision. It's class all the way.

    Beautiful stained glass ceiling.

I went up to my room to start unpacking my toiletries and food and drinks for the refrigerator. Just before 6:30 PM I did read the paper about the holiday hours and saw that there was a manager's reception that ended at 6:30 so I missed out. I was there in time to get a complementary cocktail and nosh on their snacks. Not a problem because I was hungry, and I was going to go downstairs to order a burger to bring back up to my room. When I tried to lock the door as I was leaving my room, the door would not lock. I went back inside of the room and pushed on the door to see if it would snap and lock and it would not. So I went downstairs to pick up my burger that I ordered with no onion. (Yeah, they put onion on it...... she even repeated my order to me and said no onion). I got my burger and stopped at the front desk to inform her about my key and ask if maintenance was on the premises. She stated that they did not have a maintenance person. I explained to her that right now all of my valuables are upstairs in the room and I can't lock the door so she gave me another room and changed my key. I went upstairs and tried the door that she was moving me to, and it did not unlock. So I went to my unlocked room and called downstairs to tell her that the key did not work and I was going to try to eat some of my food before it gets cold and she hung up while I was still talking. Now I am a bit peeved because I can't enjoy my food and I need to pack all my stuff up again and move to another room. I was pressed for time so I did not eat my food. I needed to get my room situation fixed first. I went back downstairs to exchange the key AGAIN! I did not get an apology or anything, and I started to ask her if she realized she hung up in my face but being tired from my flight and Hangry I thought it would be best just to get the key and start moving my room. Once again, I went upstairs and the key that she gave me still did not work; and my other room is still unlocked with my valuables in it. I went back to my unlocked room and packed everything and put it in the closet and the refrigerator and went back downstairs AGAIN! The woman at the desk was helping other people so I stood back and waited. Another employee was coming in and she asked if she could help me. The girl that originally helped me was on the phone with someone and she was getting short patient with the people on the phone. She got off the phone and explained to the other employee what was going on with my key and said that they would have to manually let me in. I followed the other employee up to my room and I showed her what was going on with my first room and the room that I was moving to and she was very apologetic and hospitable as well as offered to help me move my room. I thanked her very much and explained to her that this was the first hospitality and apology that I was receiving since I got here. And that I greatly appreciated her compassion and assistance. I went to bed and heard a knock at the door. I can see that it was the lady that was behind the bar with a bag. I thought maybe they felt sorry for me having a cold burger and fries that I couldn't , and was bringing up a hospitality package or something. Nope, she said "Oh, I'm at the wrong door"! I dragged myself back to my bed. After all I've gone through, you would think they would have credit me for my cold burger and fries. And with having to change my room, they billed us twice for the room! The room that I was moved to did not have central air like the other room did, it had a loud swamp cooler and mold in the shower, but the bed looked clean and it did not have bad smells. The shower water pressure was very low. The bed was very comfortable. And the drains did not have bad smells. The toilet was very low to the floor. I did come down the next day to ask if the complementary water was two bottles a day and she said no, it was only the two bottles at check-in. I asked even if you are a Hilton Honors member you do not get free water daily? She said "No". This was a first for me. I purchased 2 bottles and asked her to bill it to my room. So I am just standing there waiting for a response or reply and her head is still down doing something and then she looks at me and says. "I did it, you're done" (like why are you still standing there? You can go now.!) No communication. No thank yous. No Happy New Years. No apologies....... I'm thinking that this girl must be employed by a relative. Not Hilton worthy. The personality of a sloth. If I have to come back out here, I will try the Embassey Suites, but I will not stay here again. It's not a bad place especially for the price. It was bad customer service and unfortunately, I had a stay from hell trying to get settled.

Despite using the code that was emailed to us, we could not open the front door. I called the contact number and was sent an alternate code that worked. We stayed on in the Turret Suite on the third floor. Our emailed code worked to open the room lock. The room was clean and spacious. The pro of the room is the drinks and snacks provided, but unfortunately, there was a lot more misses: - The Turret bathroom looked like it fit into the period style with a claw foot tub, but it was not easy to use. The flimsy pipes made for turning on the tub difficult. Soap and shampoo was on a table two feet away from the tub. The raised claw foot tub made for a dangerous slippery situation to reach for soap and to get in and out of the tub even with a grab bar. - The toilet comes with old plumbing. Make sure to flush twice, if not three times, as it lacks flushing water pressure. - There are no side tables next to the bed, so phones and other personal items lands on the windowsill away from the bed. - Two huge lamps hung over the bed that we had to move to avoid head bumps. - The windows faced the street, but the slatted window blinds made for a bright room to sleep. The house was clean and we were able to use the common sitting areas downstairs. It would have been nice, especially for the price point, to have a pot of fresh coffee available in the huge kitchen downstairs or even fresh cookies or other baked treats. Heck, for the price, breakfast should have been served since they have a huge unused dining room.

That's not the case here they have updated the lobby area the reception area the conference center, but that's really it once you go up to the second third or fifth floor everything is still as it was maybe 10 years ago inside the rooms is very dated and it doesn't match the hotel so it can be a little bit deceiving thinking you're gonna get a very up-to-date hotel from some of the photos, but can you certainly realize that that's not the case. The staff was moderately friendly. I did walk up to the counter to check in and it seems even though there was no one at the counter and they appeared to be just a little too busy at the moment to assist me. I did take a few minutes and approaching the counter multiple times, but eventually I didn't get service and I was able to get everything I needed. Parking I was also caught off guard because I was under the impression that parking was free, but there is no free parking. It is $12 to park in their parking lot in $17 to park in the garage. Add that on top of your $200 or $300 fee and that really throws you through a loop thank you to yourself. Why don't I just park across the street or the same questions why don't I just park and not pay because after you pay all that to stay a night to have them add on the parking fee was a big surprise. The breakfast was pretty good. They continue to restock the breakfast items and have things like French toast, pancakes, sausage, bacon, eggs, and you can get a omelette made how you want it and that breakfast comes included with the room so that definitely was a nicer amenity that was offered. It's not your typical continental breakfast. It is more of a full breakfast with very nice coffee stations and different creamers and many different beverages and juices to choose from. But for me, this is really a middle of the run hotel with a high price because of the name the only thing that really put the hotel over the top was in the breakfast service.

We stayed here mid April. There is dirt caked on the ceilings and air vents in the public bathrooms. The furniture is all refurbished and there is obviously low effort from management or Hilton to make appearance slightly aesthetically pleasing. I had read a comment that this building needed to be bulldozed and rolled my eyes. Yet, after staying, it's not the just a need to bulldoze. Someone needs to update the building (not just patch holes and paint over them). Our bathroom was fine but out of date. Though, I noticed (without taking a picture) that the air vents were taken out and just patched so nothing is removing moisture, leaving it a mildew haven. It is a great location and has SUCH potential. There are several hotels along the path that are MUCH BETTER OPTIONS. As for the workers, no one was hospitable except one male front desk manager. They all looked exhausted and unhappy. We booked a stay, and with an event in town, there was an employee and local enforcement blocking the parking garage. Without asking if we were Hilton clients, she told us they were full and we could go three blocks down for parking. I had to talk over her THREE TIMES trying to tell her we had paid to stay and have parking. After again telling us they were full, she let us through to see. There were TONS of parking spots. Finally, after checking out and returning home, I realized two days later, that I had left a brand new dress in the closet along with my husband's dress shirts. I called the front desk, who seemed annoyed by my request to locate these items with her busy day. She informed me that they use a company called "ChargedUp" that "helps" search for missing items. They search for 14 days and then close your case. I find it absurd to think you can't find dress items that were left in a closet. It seems they have dishonest and careless management/workers. We have stayed in multiple Marriott's across the country that CALL YOU if you leave items Esther than you having to hunt things down.
