To make matters worse, I was informed that the investigation and resolution could take 10 to 45 business days. That timeline is completely unacceptable. Large cafe spread across 2 floors just across from Union Square Park. The cafe was previously a Peet's but after the renovations it's now a Verve, which I prefer. They have some pretty good coffee as well as teas, and seasonal drinks. I tried their limited time non-alcoholic espresso martini shakerato and found it interesting. There's lots of seating but can still be hard to snag one as many people tend to stay all day and work here. There's also the occasional homeless person so it's not the nicest places to relax in. They have private rooms you can book to have meetings for work out of. There's also a proper Capital One bank on the 2nd floor and ATMs throughout. The staff is friendly and they have security that walk around often, so it's rather safe. If you are a Capital One customer, purchases at the cafe are 50% off which is an amazing deal! read more

The Capital One Café surprisingly with precision cappucino, to me if you are a fanatic coffe drinker, pastries not many to chose for, but great enough for basic. With many section area design for seating, staff were nicely friendly and kindly, show around of cafe' space set up. It was very well thoughs out space with practicle working space. If you are looking for place to recharge yourself, and your are visiting near 14th street Union Square Park. This would be a perfect spot. 24/7 ATM vestibule access is no longer available, yet no sign specifies this, the Capital One website for the Union Square location does not specify this, couldn't find a single thing online to specify this. LOVE how you can take customers $ with the quickness but when customers need to withdraw their own $, they're suffocated with restrictions. I found a wallet and tried to return it to this location, the wallet had a Capital 1 credit card and another card issued by TDBANK. In a traditional bank, returning a lost wallet or lost credit card is done with a teller. There are no tellers here, there are reps wandering around with an ipad and a security guard stationed at the door mean mugging you when you enter. I tried to explain to the rep I spoke with at this location that I would leave their customers wallet with them but he had no idea what I was talking about. I took the wallet to (TD BANK) instead, left it with a TDBANK teller who immediately called their customer before I even left the branch! read more

The drinks were prepared well. I think flavor options would be helpful. Staff was good under pressure. It got busy and staff was able to tend to me regardless. The pastries are okay. The poppy bread could have a little more flavor and I think it would've been better warm. The coffee roll was standard. I like the 50% off for capital one card holders because I am one! read more

Nice interior with plentiful seating. However, the service is very, very slow and there isn't much else going for this store. There are a lot of things that they don't have, eg brown sugar jelly, and the staff seems a bit confused. When we ordered, it took a long time for her to understand and we waited over 30 minutes for two matchas. One was just iced and unsweetened, and the other had one pump vanilla syrup. When we asked if the order was ready or not, the barista was confused and thought she had already given us our drink. When we received them, the unsweetened matcha was good, but the vanilla was too sweet and strong. Service is lackluster and waiting time is much too long for a store that isn't particularly crowded. read more

Love this Capital one bank its located on 14 street union square in Manhattan , it's look very upscale it has a cafe' coffe-tea and pastries vibe , something like a Starbucks cafe' or a vibe like you're in Europe sitting outside a cafe' in Paris . there upstairs as well and there a security guard . usually when I'm in lower Manhattan i always come up to this branch . Yet again, a wonderful experience with the personnel at this branch. I had another very important - and very complicated - issue to resolve, and I went here two days ago. A *very* pleasant and helpful banker spent a huge amount of time with me. Yesterday I called the manager to compliment him about the banker, and I first spoke to an exceptionally friendly woman. The manager was also really friendly - and as an aside; he told me that this branch is soon expanding, whereby it will be twice as large. read more

Capital One Bank is one of the best bank's I've seen and visited during my time in NYC, located on Broadway, Union Square it also has a Peet's coffee shop inside which is pretty cool. Capital One is a brand I'm aware of, despite being from the UK as they do exist here but they mainly only sell products such as credit cards with no physical branches I'm aware of, even though they did sponsor a major football tournamnet here, the EFL Cup (now called Carabao Cup), which was actually where I saw my team Manchester City lift that trophy at for the first time. One thing I noticed during my time in the States is that bank branches do tend to skimp a bit and aren't as modern as you'd expect to find in a large city back in the UK, but Capital One's location here goes against that stereotype, this branch is large and very modern with a good selection of ATM's. The construction of the store was a little strange to me, having to go in through a heavy door (I didn't see an automatic button for disabled people which was a shame) and then the main bank is through another doorway - I presume this is to give access to the ATM's throughout the night. I did dislike the ATM's in the sense that - They charge a $3 fee if you're not a member of this bank meaning if I wanted to withdraw cash then I would have to pay the fee - I was annoyed I wasn't made aware of this until inserting my card, pin, enter the amount of cash I want etc before being made of the fee - I do understand many US banks charge this fee after a similar experience at Chase, but if Chase bank can warn you beforehand why can't Capital One? - The options to request cash is confusing as it said I could request an account from my savings/checking and something else - obviously if this doesn't apply to certain customers, why does it appear in the first place as I find it just adds confusion? I did find it a little hard to find a staff member without having to go into the main part of the bank after having issues with the ATM but being one of the better banks in the city with above-average facilities and a great view of Union Square from the cafe area, I can look past the negatives to give the bank 4/5. read more

Another fun and spacious study spot right in the heart of Union Square. Capital One Bank has integrated lifestyle with banking. You can find your banking needs on the top level. The main floor consists of two ATM corridors and a Peet's Coffee in the center. Service, WiFi, Space, and 50% off coffee for CapOne card members is what makes this space special. This is literally the worst branch if you need to get anything done. I tried to make an appointment and their appointment system was down so I physically had to go to the branch to make the appointment and then come back days later since they have no one working there. After sitting there for 30 minutes a lady comes up to me acting as if I have no idea what a business account is and telling me I was supposed to have brought printed documents. It literally never says ANYWHERE that they have to be printed and they don't even offer an option to print them at the branch. Now I'm going to have to go print the documents and come back later, and I don't know if I even will because of how ridiculous this has all been. I was in such awe that I did a double take. This branch is beautiful...the embodiment of "a new way of banking." As soon as you walk in, there are the traditional ATMs as you would normally see in any bank BUT there is a twist. This location also offers a free work space with charging ports on the upper and lower level. You read that right! Additionally, there is an adjacent coffee shop for a quick pick-me-up. There are banking employees on the main floor to help newbies navigate the different layout, which is a model that is expected to roll out to all of their locations. No lines! I could have been in and out, but was so mesmerized that I just took a seat. As a former ING Direct customer who was adopted into their family as a Capital 360 customer, I've got to admit that I don't frequently bank in person with Capital One. Linda (I believe she was the bank manager) was absolutely stellar in her customer service when I had issues with Capital One banking a few days ago that I needed addressed. She was patient, attentive, and catered to my individual needs for the situation I brought in. But her professionalism extended to the entirety of the staff, even down to the security guard who watched over my belongings while I had to take an urgent call and down to the the staff who happened to greet regular customers by their name. I just waited for a teller for 10 minutes to give me change for a 20 because she didn't know how to do it! And then when I complain to the manager she made it sound like it was my fault and that's how long it takes. Is that a joke? I really love these ATMs. Need singles for tip money, you can get singles. Need to take out odd denominations so you can get out your very last dollar, you can do that too. The location is excellent. Tried to change my phone number since I have moved and now I only have a cell phone. Guess what the idiot website for Capitol One Bank keeps defaulting to my old home phone which I no longer possess. So, it is now impossible for me to change my phone number at all, since the site insists on sending a confirmation text to the phone number I no longer have. And, no one at the Headquarters or main branch or whatever seems to have noticed this. Here is hoping that the wrong person does not open up my mail and get all of my credit card info, account number and everything because I am unable to change my address and number so now my bills are just being sent to wherever. I registered my Capital One MasterCard for restaurant week. I was supposed to get a $10 credit each time I spent $39 or more, for up to five dining experiences.  I only received one $10 credit. I was just on the phone for well over an hour, first with two individuals in the Philippines, then with a Capital One representative in the US, and then with a representative from MasterCard. The MasterCard representative then wanted to escalate this to someone else who would then call me. ENOUGH!!! This is the most horrendous Customer Service imaginable. I ate out eight times during restaurant week and spent a fortune and they would not see to it that I get my $50 credit, AS PROMISED. The Capital One representative I spoke with could clearly see that I qualified. I would never use my Capital One MasterCard during restaurant week again EVER! read more

This is probably the best idea for a bank in this day and age. A cafe merged with a bank. You can take care of your banking stuff and right after hang out I the lounge and have some coffee. A great branch I came upon yesterday, while in Manhattan. It's complete with modern ATM's, a coffee bar, and some of the nicest, most helpful people around. A case in point is that I asked one of the personnel where a specific address was, and he was not only kind enough to look it up on his phone, but actually walk outside the branch and point me in the right direction! Wow! I wish I'd gotten his name, but kudos to him and to the way customer service is learned and practiced there - because it truly is! A novelty nowadays. I stopped at the atm at this location to withdraw cash (the atms are often down at this location) and the atm ate my debit card. The staff kept me waiting and gave me excuses and lied about a technician coming to the location to retrieve my card. I work in the area and I was told that I would receive a call back but nothing ever happened and there was never any follow up. My card that was confiscated was not a CO card but I am a CO client and I was very displeased with the service at this location. read more

Been waiting for replacement debit to my work address its been more the a week and still haven't got it. I called to customer service to follow up and I kept get same answer that card is on it way, since I have got it, I thought if I will go to the branch a banker will be able to assisted. The banker gave me temporary debit and left me call to the customer service by myself, He just left me at his desk, I tried again and since they didn't helped me either on the phone after many tried few times I waited hoping he will come back and we can solve this matter, but he didn't came back and after few min I just gave up and left the bank.
