Shoutout to our local community heroes! I am happy about being able to get all my Women's check ups in one venue. Mammogram and yearly exam. It's a friendly office. Easy to get appointments, check-in, and follow-up. The patient portal makes everything more cohesive as well. The results come back in a timely manner and that is perfect for getting things out of the way for the year. The location is good because it's in the Maple Lawn area. There's nice restaurants, gas stations, CVS, and groceries. I can get the most out of the trip to office. I am thankful that my family is well cared for here. I know that my provider, Linda Follette is very knowledgeable, a great listener, and a beautiful soul!

The experience I had here was…read morepainful, I felt like the doctor used a much larger speculum than necessary as insertion and especially pulling out hurt. The day after, my lower back hurt a LOT. This has never happened before and the pain lasted for 2 days. This also sounds weird but the very second the doctor went to my crotch during the pelvic exam (I could not see her because of the gown covering my legs), I could hear laughter erupt right outside the room. After the appointment when I went to check out, I made eye contact with 2 receptionists who were smirking at me in a way that would suggest that they knew something or were laughing at me specifically. I did a double-take because I was taken aback by these looks. They caught my eye again and avoided my gaze afterwards. This might seem like nothing but the combination of the well-timed laughter, the looks of malicious glee from the 2 receptionists, as well as an uncomfortable smirk from the doctor herself as she looked down at my body when escorting me out of the room (after pelvic exam and breast exam), leads me to believe that my privacy was deeply violated. I'm not sure what exactly happened but I feel extremely uncomfortable by my experience and I won't be coming back.

The rest of the office staff are lovey, too. And during a really difficult health experience I had recently, the office called and checked in with me outside of any visits just to see how I was doing--just a little touch of human compassion like that can really go a long way. Plus, the gowns they give you to wear during your exams at this office are real cotton gowns that can fully wrap around you instead of those cheap paper "gowns" some clinics give that are scratchy and don't cover anything. Little touches like that just makes coming to this office feel so much more dignified and cared for than some other places I've been.

After researching online, I came across Dr. Sarah Rose's name when I did an online search. I was pleasantly surprised how close this practice is to my office. It's a 10 minute walk or two minute drive. Also, the office is pretty fancy with their coffee, tea, hot chocolate machine. I had to ask for assistance. This is the second doctor's office that I've gone to that is this fancy. Dr. Rose was gentle, which I appreciated as I hate all wellness exams that require any physical contact or pressure. She was also kind, patient, and thorough in her response and explanations. I am so happy to have found Dr. Rose and this practice.

She truly cared--she followed up herself, worked tirelessly for her patients & even called to remind you about your annual appointments. That kind of genuine care is long gone. My experience over the last two years has been terrible. Since they expanded, it's like they completely forgot how to treat their patients. They don't remember anything from prior visits, there's barely any follow-through & everything feels rushed & impersonal. Now, they've added insult to injury by announcing that they're going to start charging patients for basic services--things we can't even do ourselves. Even something as simple as a prescription refill feels like you're bothering the nurse or PA. It's crystal clear: they don't care about patient well-being anymore, they just care about squeezing more money out of you. And to top it all off, they had the nerve to send out this email announcing the new fees--while shamelessly promoting their extra services at the bottom. As if we'd want to pay for even more after being told we'll now be charged for the basics. The lack of self-awareness is shocking. I even went back & removed the 5-star review I once left. This office is not what it used to be--it's become disorganized, disconnected & profit-driven. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone anymore.

I first came to this practice on the recommendation of my primary care physician, who advised that I see a new gynecologist. Previous testing earlier this year showed that I needed to be assessed for possible endometrial cancer and possible unrelated cervical cancer. To address this Janis Logan, a nurse practitioner at Visionary Women's Health, gave me a biopsy of my endometrial lining and a colposcopy which turned out to include several biopsies as well. I've been dealing with these cancer scares for a couple of years now, and Janis Logan explained to me what's been going on with my body and my previous test results more thoroughly and clearly than anyone has to date. The procedures were painful, but she was caring and walked me through everything she was doing, and she even asked me if I wanted the nurse in the room to hold my hand when things got especially tough, which is something I had never been offered before during painful procedures such as these, and it helped to ease the situation a great deal for me. It is clear that this practice puts thought and effort into making women's health not only effective, but also comfortable and accessible (they accept my medical-assistance insurance). After the appointment, Janice Logan let me know that she would be having a follow up TeleMed appointment with me after the results were in to let me know the findings and if I would need a followup procedure such as a hysteroscopy or ultrasound. Because I was waiting to find out whether I had two different types of cancer, I called in about a week to see if the results were in and was told that not all of the results had come back yet and that someone would call me when they did, and I tried again at week two and was told the same thing and was given the additional information that it can sometimes take as long as three weeks for the results to come back. Almost four weeks later I still hadn't heard anything and I was back at the practice for another appointment for an unrelated problem and an appointment for my mother, and I requested that someone speak to me about my test results while I was there. I was told that the practitioner would speak to me about it after my appointment, and then I was given the update that she would speak with me after I attended my mother's appointment with her, and then I was given a third update that the practitioner would call me after I got home. I did not receive a phone call after I got home nor did I receive a phone call the next day. I called again the day after that to ask once again if I could speak with the practitioner to find out the results, and the person taking the call spoke with the practitioner herself and then came back to tell me that a nurse from their practice had already sent me a two-sentence message four days after my procedure was done saying that the results of my biopsy were normal and that I was to call if I had any questions. I explained that I had called several times since then and was told that not all the test results were back, as well, I did not know which of my biopsies that written message was referring to, and so I asked the person on the phone does this mean that the test results were negative for endometrial cancer and negative for cervical cancer, and she replied that she was unable to answer that question, and I once again said that I would like to speak to someone who could answer that question. She told me that the practitioner would call me before 12 noon that day to let me know about the cancer results, which did not occur. She also volunteered that I should request to speak with the head of the practice, Dr. Amy Gueye-Weinstein, to address the problems I was having in getting my results. When I had not heard from the practitioner by noon, I called to request that Dr. Gueye-Weinstein call me, and the person I spoke with said that she would have her colleague, Dr. Gueye-Weinstein, call me and also added that she would have the practitioner I hadn't heard from to call me as well. Neither of them has called me. More than four weeks later, I still don't know whether I have either one of these cancers. I also still don't know whether all of my test results are in, whether I need any additional procedures, or why no practitioner is returning my calls. Update: They had the results, which indicate that I don't have cancer, just 4 days after my procedure, which was before my first phone call. I still haven't received a return phone call.

Fast forward months later, I see that there's a lab claim on my insurance for $1,500+ and that it's my full responsibility. How can this be, if I went to in-service medical provider? Well, apparently this provider only uses one lab called bio-reference lab unless explicitly expressed by the patient to use another. This is the most backwards ass thing I have ever experienced. How can you as a provider not do your due diligence to see where my lab work needs to go? Why is that my responsibility. Why wait for some nonsense like this to happen, when you could tackle the issue on the front end? Now there's a huge possibility that I have to pay this large bill for SIMPLE LAB work because office assistants don't want to go the extra mile to check. It's disgusting as hell and I know this issue is a massive problem within the American Healthcare itself. Providers need to do better. I'm a 23 year old woman that is new to the healthcare insurance enrollment period (that typically occurs in September/October) so if you refer back to my date of service you could see that this is months into using my new insurance after being on my parents. Why must people advocate for themselves when providers should be doing their damn jobs to make sure things like this don't happen. I had one of the office assistants tell me that they don't check the specific labs that will accept a patients lab work. WELL, I'm requiring and urging you all to implement better practices within your office. There's no way WORKING PEOPLE should be stressed about paying medical bills due to your error and lack of care. I pray I am able to beat this, and that nobody comes after me later down the road. I'm simply not coming back here. I'm sure the doctors here do great work, but it was the lack of care from this office that has made me very very cautious of where I go now.

I've waited a year to post my review. While I believe that many patients are helped by Dr. Moawad,…read moremy experience has not been stellar. What I do appreciate is that Dr. Moawad was able to give me a diagnosis and put some pieces together for me that multiple providers had not done after 3 years of chronic pelvic pain and horrible periods that still negatively impact my quality of life. My first visit was great, I felt cared for and seen. I do believe that Dr. Moawad cares and has developed his skills and knowledge to help as many women as possible. My endo was advanced when it was caught, which may be why I'm still having significant impacts from it a year after surgery. I knew that one surgery would not fix all of the things, but I did expect that my quality of life would improve. That has not been the case thus far. The surgery coordinator said to me, when she was trying to get me to commit to the payment, that my life would change. So far the only real change is that I have increased my debt in order to pay for the surgery. Three things that I wish had been different in my experience: 1. More thorough education about endo and adenomyosis, which I also have. I was given the option to have laparoscopic surgery to include a hysterectomy or not. I chose to keep my uterus, as I was not emotionally ready to have that procedure. If there had been clearer information about the adenomyosis part, I may have made a different decision. My periods have gotten worse after surgery, and I am incapacitated for 2-3 days each month. I also still have the chronic pelvic pain (from pudendal neuralgia) which has only moderately improved after surgery. 2. Customer service. When the initial consult fee is close to $1000 and the surgery is out of network (costing thousands of dollars) I expect a very high level of customer service. This was not my experience. I felt like a paycheck to the admin staff and surgery coordinator. Multiple times I emailed into the office with questions and after 3 days or so, would ping them again. In my experience of over 20 years in the professional world, the general expectation is a 24 hour time window for answers and communication. I realize that the answer to a question may take longer depending on the doctor's schedule or billing service, but I do expect a response to acknowledge my request and give an ETA on an answer. I would suggest that the office staff need some training on customer service at a high level. 3. After care. I experienced new and different pain after my surgery and reached out to Dr. Moawad's office for support. I was referred to a pain specialist whom I met with twice and he did not have helpful recommendations. On my own, I found a practice that does pelvic rehabilitation medicine and have engaged with them. They informed me that they have a relationship with Dr. Moawad and I wish that he had referred me to them when I had continued pelvic pain after surgery and to this day. Since my first appointment with Dr Moawad, I felt heard and validated. Not only is he very skilled but also very caring and compassionate. The surgery went really well and my recovery was not bad at all. It felt great knowing that he removed all my endometriosis and my symptoms are significantly better since then. Thank you Dr Moawad and the CEAPS team for such a seamless experience. Getting surgery can be overwhelming but your care and compassion made it a lot easier! I can't recommend the CEAPS team enough.

At no time did she comfort me, nothing like "breathe. Take a deep breath" or "are you ok? It's almost over". Nothing at all! I truly suspect she used the large speculum. Maybe she didn't like being told what to use. All I know is I've never yelled liked that in any of my previous examinations with other MDs.
