I've had several pap smears in my life since I am of a certain age. The experience I had here was painful, I felt like the doctor used a much larger speculum than necessary as insertion and especially pulling out hurt. The day after, my lower back hurt a LOT. This has never happened before and the pain lasted for 2 days. This also sounds weird but the very second the doctor went to my crotch during the pelvic exam (I could not see her because of the gown covering my legs), I could hear laughter erupt right outside the room. After the appointment when I went to check out, I made eye contact with 2 receptionists who were smirking at me in a way that would suggest that they knew something or were laughing at me specifically. I did a double-take because I was taken aback by these looks. They caught my eye again and avoided my gaze afterwards. This might seem like nothing but the combination of the well-timed laughter, the looks of malicious glee from the 2 receptionists, as well as an uncomfortable smirk from the doctor herself as she looked down at my body when escorting me out of the room (after pelvic exam and breast exam), leads me to believe that my privacy was deeply violated. I'm not sure what exactly happened but I feel extremely uncomfortable by my experience and I won't be coming back. read more

I am a patient of Morgan Walker, CNM. She is great and really seems to genuinely care. She doesn't rush through the appointments and just really takes the time to listen and even asks "what else?", giving me the time to really open up with any questions or concerns. The rest of the office staff are lovey, too. And during a really difficult health experience I had recently, the office called and checked in with me outside of any visits just to see how I was doing--just a little touch of human compassion like that can really go a long way. Plus, the gowns they give you to wear during your exams at this office are real cotton gowns that can fully wrap around you instead of those cheap paper "gowns" some clinics give that are scratchy and don't cover anything. Little touches like that just makes coming to this office feel so much more dignified and cared for than some other places I've been. read more

Where do I even start! This office and it's staff are some of the best, caring, and understanding healthcare workers I've met. They have made me feel so cared for throughout my extremely rough first pregnancy. I was diagnosed with "Hyperemisis Gravidarum" at around 6-10 weeks pregnant it was terrifying and I have an extremely severe case unfortunately. Dr Ezieke along with almost every other Dr in there has helped me with the whole process of getting the assistance I needed immediately and taking care of me with such kindness and care. Ive been to the ER about 6 times, admitted twice for my condition as well as a nice little trip to L&D early because my son in the womb decided to give me bad Braxton hicks and I can tell you, I have seen almost every OB from the Columbia office and every single one of these lovely providers are AMAZING. You will never feel alone and you will never feel like they do not care about your health or needs or any questions/concerns you may have. Every-time I had a question Nurse Wendy calls me back almost immediately. They care so much and are all amazing healthcare providers here. Wouldn't want to be delivering my baby with anyone else. read more

Ok let me just say the doctors themselves are great. The good things end right there. They have at least 2 payment portals involved, and it is absolutely convoluted and inconvenient. I have $0 outstanding charges on the 2 payment portals they upkeep, and I just received 2 bills and a debt collection from a debt collector agency. This is ridiculous. If they want their bills payed off they need to make it clear and easy for me to pay them. Their front desk staff has never been very friendly or caring, and I abhor needing to call them up to figure out what is going on with my bills. read more

Rescheduled multiple important appointments early in my pregnancy and couldn't fit me in ANYWHERE within a week of rescheduling. I have to find a new practice while pregnant. To be honest I'm not sure how I am the first to be writing a review. This place is absolutely amazing. This is my third pregnancy and my favorite office so far. From the time you walk in you feel like family, every appointment, every time. They really care about you and your baby. They have midwives as well as Doctors so your choices are unlimited. You never sit around in the waiting room wondering when your going to go back. Or sit in your appointment room waiting for the world to end. They are always ready for that random break down phone call in the middle of the night that all of us pregnancy ladies go through. I really can't say enough about this facility. Last year, I asked them for the arm implant birth control called nexplanon, signed all of the forms, then heard back a year later that they don't have that birth control. They told me it would take about three months to come in, then they were saying that they didn't offer that one. Now a year and six months later, I received it as if nothing happened. read more

Dr. Bangura is the best! As a young adult (20 years old), I've found that she is really kind and knowledgeable in answering all of the questions around sexual health that I've had. I only go about twice a year but when I do there's barely any wait and all the staff are very professional. It's nice to be in an environment with so many caring women! I was confused I saw Dr Mak, great doctor, but I had never had a annual checkup w no urine sample. I had to request one and then I doctor did not swab my insides which I found odd. Just looked inside and said everything looked fine. When I got back to work I thought about it and called the next day. Asked nurse and she said well how do you know she did not, she said not to sound rude or anything. I said one their was no nurse in there to hold slide and I did not see or feel her swab me. Nurse said she would check w Doctor and call back. I am 50 something yrs old been through many pap smears but nothing like this. read more

I recently moved to Columbia and then found myself having to look for a new gyno... a process which I have not enjoyed in the past. I would say that I am one of those women who really dreads going to this kind of doctor because it can be an uncomfortable experience. I decided to try this practice because its less than ten minutes from my house and has several pretty good reviews. I had a well woman visit with Dr.Dokou and I was so happy due to and comforted by her excellent bedside manner and overall vibe that instantly put me at ease. Before the appointment, I was impressed at the detailed form she had me fill out which allowed me to jot down any specific questions I may have had. She was very patient and answered all of my questions fully. We ended up having some miscommunication concerning blood work and I was shocked that Dr. Dokou herself called to apologize! She obviously cares very much about her patients and all the staff at this location were very pleasant. I think I may have found my new doctor! Check out this place! read more

This is my first pregnancy and every time I go in it feels like they're in a rush. I was totally ambushed with a vaccine today. A nurse walked in (I'm assuming she was a nurse. We were never introduced) and about 20 seconds later the needle was in my arm. I hadn't even signed the consent form yet. No one told me I was getting a vaccine or answered any questions before they gave it to me. It was a total violation! I've been with this group for 12 years. They use to be amazing, but since they've been bought out, the care has gone down hill drastically! read more

EXTREME CAUTION: Stay far away from this practice. Avoid completely if you desire professional, prompt, and expert care from medical personnel. I was looking for a gynecological practice close to my Howard County home, and two friends recommended this office. I was experiencing discomfort and pressure in my pelvic area with unusually frequent urination. Although my appointment with the doctor went well enough, my encounters with this practice thereafter went immediately downhill. I had provided a urine sample during my first appointment and then waited for a few weeks to be notified of those test results. I was forced to finally ask in my patient portal about the results, and I was told that the urinalysis was never run. This was very upsetting. A few days later, a nurse called and informed me that the doctor would call. She did call me to apologize for this inexplicable, unacceptable negligence. She simply advised me to call the office again and make another appointment to leave another urine sample the following week. The doctor emphasized that this second urinalysis would be handled with utmost care and attention. After playing phone tag with the staff for several days to set up this second appointment, I was given a time to stop by and leave my second sample. Six entire weeks had passed between my first appointment and this new time for my second appointment! But I good-naturedly went in for the second time, gave my necessary check-in information and followed their instructions perfectly for leaving my second sample with their internal lab (just down the hall from the reception area). I very clearly wrote my full name and birthdate on the container, per their instructions. Days passed, and I still did not receive the results of the urinalysis in my patient portal. I called the office, but reached their voicemail. The next day, a staff member left me a message asking me to call her. When I phoned the office and identified myself the next day, I was put on hold. The staff member who had left me the message took my call. She first apologized then informed me that FOR THE SECOND TIME my urinalysis WAS NOT RUN! She told me I could either return again to their office, or they could send me to a lab outside their practice. I was furious and informed her that I would never set foot in this medical office ever again, though my initial symptoms persist. Perhaps it is less convenient, but I will happily head back to my eminently trusted gynecologist in Baltimore County. I value receiving professional, prompt, and expert medical care with attention to potentially critical details, and this office has TWICE DEMONSTRATED that they CANNOT BE TRUSTED to provide professional, prompt, and expert care with attention to POTENTIALLY CRITICAL details to their deserving patients. read more

I wanted to write and personally thank the entire Women's OB/GYN staff for the amazing care we received during the birth of our daughter. My fiancee, Jesse, started to get complications that led to preeclampsia over the last few weeks of the pregnancy, but the nurses and doctors, especially Drs. Ezeike, Kalmar, Mak, Sodeke and CNM DePalma were extremely communicative and made us feel comfortable and confident in the care we were receiving. Dr. Ezeike especially was there frequently each time we got sent to the hospital and couldn't have been more of a blessing for being there for the birth that ended up being 4 1/2 weeks early. Dr. Ezeike went well above and beyond. The staff at St. Agnes Hospital also deserves kudos and high praise for their attentiveness and compassion throughout the whole process. We don't have anything but praise for the nurses and techs that cared for us during each of our emergency visits (5 of them!) and for the final birth and 4 day recovery. read more

For my 1st visit a few months ago there was little to no wait time. I was told that the doctor was being followed by a resident OBGYN that day and asked if it was ok if she sat in on our appointment. I work in the medical field and can attest to how beneficial the onsite training was so I agreed. There must have been a misunderstanding because the resident ended up doing my exam not just observing my appointment. Since it was my first visit and I didn't know one doctor from the other I didn't realize I was getting examined by the resident until she fumbled a few times and pinched me. Again I probably would have still agreed to let her do the exam but I wish they were more clear about what I was getting into. What I really liked about this office was they were detailed. The nurse went over my medical history and when the doctor and resident came in she followed up on details and listened to my concerns. I had some symptoms that I didn't think were connected but when I mentioned them she said since you are getting blood work done anyway I am going to check your thyroid levels. Turns out she diagnosed my hypothyroid. I have only had the one appointment but I plan on continuing my care through them. read more

After a terrible experience with another office during my pregnancy, the Womens Group took me in. The transition was smooth and pleasant. They were courteous, kind, attentive, and picked right up where I had left off with my previous doctor. They recommended to see as many OBs as possible, since you never know who will be on call during delivery. I had an absolute amazing experience with all of the OBs that I met with, though Dr Sodeke is my primary and who actually ended up delivering my son (first pregnancy). I was met with warm, friendly faces during each visit throughout my pregnancy. The day I went into labor, I called the hospital to let them know I was in labor. Dr Sodeke met me at the hospital (we actually walked in together, great timing!) and got me settled. She checked in often and was so sweet and attentive. I never felt out of control, and she walked me through everything that was happening. I can't say enough great things about this practice and the OBs that work there. I have many friends and coworkers who also go there. Highly recommended!!! read more

For having a baby, if you want to have it at St. Agnes, this group of doctors is great. Otherwise, find someone else if you value your time. They clearly don't think your time is important and you will wait forever to see your doctor. You will get no apology for this unless you ask, and they won't tell you if the doctor is running behind or check in with you so you are just left to sit there and wonder if you have been forgotten. Some of the nurses have terrible people skills too. Good doctors, terrible with actual people. read more

Everytime I have had a different doctor, they never know who I am or my past medical history, extremely impersonal and not pleasing to the eye as the tacky decor screams thrift store junk. The wait wasn't too bad which is why I'm giving them two stars. What bothered me was my visit in general. The person who saw me seem to not care particularly about my appointment. It felt like she was trying to get the appointment done quickly. I understand that efficiency is important in a healthcare setting but I think developing a relationship with your patient is also crucial. Also, I felt that I was practically forced to get a Pap smear which I'm already not a fan of. It's important, I get it. However, I was clearly extremely nervous about the procedure and my practitioner showed zero care in the world. She went straight in and did not reassure me or anything. It's important for healthcare professionals to help the patient feel as comfortable as possible and all I felt was fear beforehand and pain during. Again, my problem is that I don't think patients are cared for here. The philosophy seems to just be to get through each appointment as fast as possible and move on to the next. read more

For being a new location I'd expect it to be cleaner. The nurses can be rude. They seemed bothered by my questions about my medication and detoured me from speaking to my doctor directly about my medications. I would never recommend this clinic to anyone. read more
