We were also told that another provider would not stand in for the consultation meeting, which may be the only professional practice on the planet where this is the case. My daughter cannot continue her treatments until they complete the consultation and at this point she is already off her treatment plan. Mary and April in their scheduling office are condescending, rude and inconsiderate and refuse to answer any questions. Go anywhere else you can.

Fresh veg is NEVER provided, rather they serve some dead, frozen veg along with a TINY burger in a HUGE bun (white bread, of course), and the only beverages provided other than water have HFCS in them, same as all of the "desserts". It's as if they actually want their patients to be unhealthy. The basic neglect and unacceptable level of "care" is off the charts. When a bed-ridden patient rings the bell and then has to wait TWENTY-FIVE MINUTES for someone to show up it is unacceptable. I find it difficult to believe Ellis has kept its JCAHO accreditation. According to Google they have it, but I cannot fathom why they still do. This place seems to be at least 20 years behind normal standards. Their doctors do not even carry tablets. They seem to rely on "memory" for everything a patient tells them. I have yet to see even ONE "doctor" write down or log anything. Hell, I have never seen ANY medical "professional" log ANYTHING AT ANY TIME. DO NOT EVER allow ANYONE you love to be sent to Ellis Hospital. You will regret it.

I live in the LA area now, and have many procedures done regularly in the LA area, including: "Deep Skull Procedure" - Spheno-Palatine Ganglia Blocks @ Cedars, Gamma Knife Stereotactic Radiation @ UCLA Med - Westwood, and Suprascapular Nerve Blocks every two weeks @ St. John's in Santa Monica. Whenever I return "home", to North Adams, for more than 2 - 3 days, I always try to book an appointment with Dr. Van Uitert. He has done the Suprascapular Nerve Blocks, and other procedures, many times. I normally have these procedures at some of the top medical centers in the country; Cedars is #2, UCLA Med is #5. After examining me for approximately 10 minutes, in an office with just two…read morechairs (no bed and looks just like for example: lawyers office) he tells me nothing he sees is wrong with me even though I have had Labyrinthitis and vertigo for 3 1/2 years. If he had checked my medical file, he would have seen trips to urgent care and the doctor with my symptoms. He said I can pay for Vestibular Therapy out of my pocket and he wasn't going to refer me to a Vestibular Therapist. No amount of crying would sway him. Horrible bedside manner. Now I have to pay out of pocket for a Neurologist. Medical won't cover another one. I understand that the insurance company is probably giving him a great kickback if he does absolutely nothing! Vestibular therapy is expensive. Don't ever see this doctor! I do not understand why he received good reviews elsewhere. My guess is he paid for them. BTW New to the area.
