I called and his staff said I had to come in for ANOTHER appointment, before he'd give me the promised referral! Had I gotten to the specialist at the peak of my pain, maybe I would not have gone through prolonged suffering. Had he not waited two weeks to tell me of an alarming abnormality in my lab work.

Next available appointment was made for November 4, three months from now, but our daughter will be three hundred miles away at college by then. We were also told that another provider would not stand in for the consultation meeting, which may be the only professional practice on the planet where this is the case. My daughter cannot continue her treatments until they complete the consultation and at this point she is already off her treatment plan. Mary and April in their scheduling office are condescending, rude and inconsiderate and refuse to answer any questions. Go anywhere else you can.

My fiancé was in Ellis Hospital since early Monday morning for chest and stomach pain. The next day he got told that he had an infection and they were giving him antibiotics which was fine. Within a few hours later i spotted 2 big black and blue bruises on his leg and hip that was no where near the stent removal.(HE DID NOT HAVE BRUISES WHEN HE WENT IN) They kept giving him medication that was not working and they said that they don't know what one was doing the job so they kept giving him more which was making him drowsy and sleeping all day. They also negotiated him and letting him sit in his own bodily fluids not only that they refused to feed him for 24 hours and left him starving all day and they did nothing about it they also did not let him use the bathroom when needed they kept him in bed and not allowing him to walk around and stretch. When he asked for something it took the nurses and doctors hours to respond to him. The doctors and nurses do not care about anyone in the hospital they rather chitchat to each other about themselves.

The NP then proceeded to order numerous tests and procedures and then referred her to an oncologist without reviewing the results. The oncologist told my daughter that the tests were unneccesary and that she does not have cancer. My daughter then received 8 different bills totally thousands of dollars. Ellis has not returned phone calls. I would stay far, far away from Ellis Medicine.

I live in the LA area now, and have many procedures done regularly in the LA area, including: "Deep Skull Procedure" - Spheno-Palatine Ganglia Blocks @ Cedars, Gamma Knife Stereotactic Radiation @ UCLA Med - Westwood, and Suprascapular Nerve Blocks every two weeks @ St. John's in Santa Monica. Whenever I return "home", to North Adams, for more than 2 - 3 days, I always try to book an appointment with Dr. Van Uitert. He has done the Suprascapular Nerve Blocks, and other procedures, many times. I normally have these procedures at some of the top medical centers in the country; Cedars is #2, UCLA Med is #5. Worst Neurologist ever! After examining me for approximately 10 minutes, in an office with just two…read morechairs (no bed and looks just like for example: lawyers office) he tells me nothing he sees is wrong with me even though I have had Labyrinthitis and vertigo for 3 1/2 years. If he had checked my medical file, he would have seen trips to urgent care and the doctor with my symptoms. He said I can pay for Vestibular Therapy out of my pocket and he wasn't going to refer me to a Vestibular Therapist. No amount of crying would sway him. Horrible bedside manner. Now I have to pay out of pocket for a Neurologist. Medical won't cover another one. I understand that the insurance company is probably giving him a great kickback if he does absolutely nothing! Vestibular therapy is expensive. Don't ever see this doctor! I do not understand why he received good reviews elsewhere. My guess is he paid for them. BTW New to the area. I do not live in Cobb,California anymore. Have to change a few things in my Yelp account.
