This is a nice comic store. They have other fun items to check out too I.e. vintage toys, trading cards. I believe the price points are fair and I have went back multiple times. The selection of comics is good. It's not the best I've seen, but not the worst either. The customer service is so so. This may be from the occasional riffraff visiting. I don't know. read more

Good selection of comic books. Well stocked with newer releases and variant cover art. Owner is knowledgeable across the board. If there's anything you're looking for in particular just ask. Merchandise is added regularly including Pokémon cards, various toys, and collector's items. read more

Had to do window shopping at this location as they were at Dragon Con in ATL. From the outside looking in, they really looked to have a good (large) selection of current and older titles to look through. Store appeared to be organized nicely .... hopefully get another chance to come back by here in the future and check them out a little more. read more

So, since my last review, I did indeed come back several times. All of my other experiences have been relatively pleasant, so I don't know if the owner was just going through a bad time or something. The store has a good selection. 4/5 instead of 5/5 because I've swung by a few times and they didn't bother to stick to the posted hours, or they left to run errands with a note on the door ("Back in 15," but then didn't return for 30+ minutes). read more

Been coming in here since I was a kid and every visit feels like home. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful and doesn't mind asking you how you've been and holding a conversation with you. Highly recommend stopping by and purchasing some graphic novels and figurines. If you're in the Montgomery area, make sure to support your local comic book shop. read more

Was originally super pissed. My step son wanted to go. Was tired. Didn't want to take him, but did. Got here. Sign on door: back in 15 minutes. In the middle of a Saturday afternoon. Let's just say it was waaaaay more than 15 minutes. The reason for the better review: I called wanting to know WTH, and he called me back and apologized. Poor guy hadn't eaten and had to get something. We were already on the way home but we came back. Thanks for the call back and for the apology. That was pretty good. I started going to this shop in Sept 2022 and would visit every couple weeks or so. The owner wasn't all that helpful when trying to learn about collecting and often seemed annoyed that I wanted to ask questions. I have shown up a handful of times and his hours are often very subjective. No sign and no answer on the phone. There were a number of times that he said he'd look into a certain issue/cover for me, but that was forgotten about by time I would come back. He often acted annoyed when I would bring my daughter with me since she is younger although I confirmed every time that if anything happened due to something she grabbed, I had no issue paying for it. The straw that broke the camel's back was when I misinterpreted what was said by the owner over a stuffed pokemon for my daughter and he felt the need to email over the issue instead of talking about it. I apologized about the directness of my email and misinterpretation then he told me that I should go elsewhere to get my comics. He then proceeded to delete my orders from Previewsworld. Stores like his will fall by the wayside if you tell your clients to leave over a single misinterpretation. I don't understand why the extreme reaction happened. read more

Back in 5 minutes ... Store hours are owner's hours basically. On more than one occasion at different times I either had to wait or give it and leave because the "1" and only employee/slash owner stepped out during open hours. When I have been in there was a great selection and back issues as well as toys and collectibles. Student and military discounts. Emails are always late so don't depend on reserving your books here to pick up every Wednesday. Fun location right outside the movie theatre. With other options to get my comics this store isn't my first but isn't the worst ... If he is there. read more

I like this store. I'm not the usual comic store patron as I don't have any subscriptions (I buy most of my comics digitally or in trade paperback). However, whenever I visit this shop, the employees are friendly and helpful. I have seen a few complaints about the owner being away from the store, but I understand how hard it must be to survive as a small business owner in America these days, especially when we have so many other options (Marvel Unlimited, eBay, Amazon.com, etc.) I would probably be upset if I visited and he was "away", but that's not something I would hold against him for a long time. I have also seen complaints that he is rude. Look, he is such a huge comic book nerd that he opened his own comic book store. This is not meant as an insult, but have you ever met a well adjusted, socially savvy comic book nerd? Additionally, nerds tend to have Monty Pythonesque senses of humor that most people can't relate to and quickly take offense to. His sense of humor is off putting, but please don't let it drive you away. The last time we were there, I got into a 15 minute conversation about the Power Rangers and the collectible (and expensive) toys from a grown man. I was trying to learn so I could invest some money in my little brother-in-law's collectibles. He LOVES the Power Rangers and I got all the info I needed from this store. I am eyeing a few collectibles in there and have even asked for a price on one. His response? "Make me an offer". I like that because we both know the truth about the collectibles, they're only worth what someone is willing to pay for them and if they're still on your shelf 8 years after they were released, there's a good chance they'll be on the shelf 8 years from now unless you compromise on the price. In conclusion, I have shopped the other competitors and they all have the same problem with accurately managing subscriptions and "boxes" for your favorite comics. It never fails that they forget an issue in between and by the time you pick up your comics, the missing issue is no longer in print or has to be special ordered, so you can't read them until it comes in. They're all guilty of that, so this is not a problem limited to just this store. However, if I was more attentive, I would pick up my comics weekly and not monthly, so It really isn't their fault in the end. read more

I love this shop! For me, I love the huge variety of collectible statues and figures. Every time I walk in there it's something new. He carries all the new titles as well as having an extensive inventory of comics from every publisher and what he doesn't have he'll work hard to get for you. The great thing about coming here is it run by someone who genuinely knows his comic book history and has a passion for the stuff he sells. Capitol City Comics is hands down the best place around to satisfy that inner geek. It's the highlight of Montgomery in my opinion. Go there. Buy stuff. read more

When I take my kids to the movies we always go to the Rave/AMC Festival 16 movie theater because my son wants to go to Capital Comics. I really like the owner here he is very friendly and knowledgeable and treats my son, who has Asperger's with kindness and respect. What more can I ask for? read more

The owner can have an off-putting sense of humor at times, but if you hang around a bit you're realize when he's joking and when he's not. Easy to make a deal with, though he will do research on the spot. Luckily he'll show you his research at the same time, so you know he's not pulling it out of his butt. Selection could be bigger, but he sells more than just comics too. I enjoy hanging out there even when I'm not buying anything and he doesn't mind that I don't. read more

All these judgemental self centered petty reviews smh....He's been providing Montgomery with a great store since before i could drive I'm now 40, Rob, and the old owner of Visions ,John, when it was a Comics shop.They were the only places for along time to get great stuff. Been a regular at the shop for over a decade, followed it across five locations, and have no plans to stop. The owner is very friendly, helpful at getting things out of reach, and doesn't mind keeping items on my pull list for a couple of months, 'til I can get to town. The selection of trades is great, and he'll order whatever is not in stock. read more

This is the best comic book store left in the Montgomery area after November 2013. The owner is cool and friendly. He has a wide variety of comics on Wednesday and he doesn't bug you to start a subscription with him. He sales a lot of different collectibles which is nice. If you research the item you want and show that you have some knowledge about the item, then he will work with you on the price. Great Location also! read more
