I LOVE 1977 books! It's a volunteer-run bookstore at the Kress building with an excellent selection…read moreof books about civil rights, feminism, abolition, cooking, disability rights -- you name it. I visited for the first time today and was absolutely blown away. From the design of the store to the location, there is so much to love about 1977 books. I've ordered from them online once before, so it was nice to see the shop in real life. I didn't get a chance to take photos of the shop (I was too busy browsing all of the books), but I managed to get a book that had been on my wish list for a while + a cute conversation deck that I plan on using with my loved ones. The volunteer who checked me out was also very kind and wore a mask. Come check it out!

I'm stumbled into this very nice shop. They haven't had their grand opening yet, so they still…read moresetting up, getting signage placed, etc. Most notably, the staff was extremely friendly and excited to be open. That will serve them well. They are brewing Starbucks, so it's the closest outlet to Cloverdale, I believe. They have a lot of space dedicated to Huntington apparel and gifts. They could really class the place up with Auburn gear. (Kidding- They are owned by Huntington University). They have a drive-through, a reading nook, etc. It's a fully restored cottage in the historic district. Very bright and clean. I'll be back!

I ordered a frappe with oat milk, and when I asked for oat milk, he responded, "that's going to take longer to make." I get this drink often, and it doesn't take that long--it felt like he just didn't want to take the extra time. He also didn't ask if I wanted whipped cream, and I ended up with it anyway. Since I ordered oat milk, it would've been nice if he had checked, considering it's a non-dairy option.

The selection of comics is good. It's not the best I've seen, but not the worst either. The customer service is so so. This may be from the occasional riffraff visiting. I don't know.
