She left her and went outside. She left one voicemail message for me stating that my daughter was in trouble and I needed to call the office. No other attempts to reach me were made, even though I have 5 different emergency contacts available and the school readily called them all if one of my children was ill. I showed up to the school for an event and saw my daughter sitting, on display, in the administrator's office. She was alone and I had no idea she was in there and almost walked past. She immediately burst into tears BECAUSE SHE NEEDED TO GO TO THE BATHROOM BUT WAS TOLD NOT TO MOVE. Ms. O was told to apologize the next day but "forgot". I'm not even kidding. She finally did apologize (guess what- my daughter hadn't even done what they accused her off, which really doesn't matter because even if she did this was child abuse). CMP's response was to promote Ms. O to Principal of her own campus. I would never trust this administration. They can keep deleting my reviews all they want but I will keep returning. Parents deserve to know.

The community is unmatched- loving, thoughtful, supportive. A lot of family members don't understand the Waldorf method of teaching and make jokes, but my kids are both strong readers with curious minds about every subject. They offer Spanish, choir, strings, and band as part of their regular curriculum along with gardening, movement, etc. The students are taught in a way that offers a depth of understanding that other schools simply don't have the time to teach. Rather than doing a written project about catapults, for example, they actually build one. We love this school and community and are confident our kids will be very well prepared for what comes next.

It was also a significant financial investment for our family, one I was willing to make because I believed in what the school represented. Unfortunately, our kindergarten year ended in a way I never expected. The turning point was when I witnessed my daughter's teacher, Ms. Olga, physically pull/drag my daughter by her legs out of the classroom and leave her in the hallway. After talking with my daughter afterward, she told me this was not the first time Ms. Olga had pulled her out of the classroom that way and left her in the hallway. As a parent, that was extremely upsetting to learn. The school told me they investigated the incident. When I later asked about the outcome of that investigation, I was told the details were private information, but that Ms. Olga would no longer do that. I understand there may be privacy limitations regarding an employee, but being told essentially that it wouldn't happen again left me with more questions than reassurance, especially after learning from my daughter that it had happened before. I wasn't asking for anyone to be fired or trying to create a huge issue. I simply asked that my daughter be moved to another kindergarten classroom for the last six weeks of school. They offered Ms. Haley's class, but that class still shared time and activities with Ms. Olga's class. I asked for the other kindergarten classroom so my daughter could actually be separated from the situation, and the school would not accommodate that. My daughter ultimately stayed home for the remainder of kindergarten. What disappointed me even more was what happened afterward. My daughter and I were initially invited to the Fly Away Ceremony. After I emailed the school expressing my disappointment that they couldn't find another classroom for her, I was told it would be best if I did not attend. As a parent, I should be able to respectfully question a school's decision and advocate for my child without feeling like that makes me unwelcome. There are things about Waldorf education that I still love, and I know other families may have completely different experiences. I can only speak about ours. I just wish that when something this serious happened, there had been more accountability and more effort to find a solution for my daughter instead of her losing the last weeks of her kindergarten year.

Our family's experience at Bradshaw Christian School Elementary was incredibly disappointing and…read moreultimately led us to withdraw our children. One of our biggest concerns was the school's approach to child behavior and emotional development. In our experience, staff were quick to view behavior as a discipline issue rather than asking what might be driving it. Instead of teaching emotional regulation and coping skills, our son was frequently sent to the office to "reflect," which felt more punitive than supportive. We often felt that shame and compliance were prioritized over helping children develop the skills they were still learning. The school's mission states that it is committed to nurturing students' spiritual, academic, physical, emotional, and social development. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. When our child struggled with managing big emotions, we felt there was little curiosity about what he might have been experiencing or what support he needed. Instead, conversations quickly centered around behavior plans and recommendations for evaluation for ADHD. From our perspective, the behavior plans emphasized earning approval through compliance rather than building emotional regulation, resilience, and connection. We were also concerned that, unlike public schools, private schools are not required to provide many support services. Families whose children need additional help--whether speech therapy, emotional support, or other learning accommodations--may find themselves responsible for arranging and paying for those services. In our case, we were told that if our child remained at the school, we would need to provide and pay for a full-time aide in addition to tuition, uniforms, school supplies, and required volunteer hours. To be fair, we did encounter a few teachers who genuinely cared about children and wanted to help them succeed. However, those experiences were overshadowed by what we perceived to be a larger school culture that lacked understanding of child development and trauma-informed approaches. We also noticed significant teacher turnover during our time there, which made consistency difficult. After transferring our son to public school, the difference was remarkable. He was met with compassion, appropriate supports, and educators who focused on understanding his needs while teaching him the skills he was missing rather than punishing him for not already having them. He has flourished academically, socially, and emotionally. Every family has different priorities, but if your child has big feelings, emotional regulation challenges, speech or learning needs, or simply benefits from a more supportive and individualized approach, I would encourage you to carefully explore all of your options before choosing Bradshaw Christian. Let me start by saying I've had my child attend this school for the past two years and I'm really…read moredisappointed in the lack of management from school administration, not protecting children from buying "stuff" from the back of a truck that parks right by the school bus gate, or buying drinks as well as unhealthy snacks from the seller pushing a mobile fruit cart. You know, the ones with a huge umbrella and visible cut fruit. Firstly about this truck, I did not write down the license plate number but I approached the front office three times and told the 2 elderly receptionists that my child was being short changed by $7 cash each time that truck parks next to the school. This truck is open for illegal business selling "stuff" that includes assorted American and Mexican candies (maybe containing Lead) as well as not providing a visible business license or reporting tax information to the bureau. I told the receptionist I wanted to talk to the school principal and the receptionist simply said "I'll take your number and name down and pass on the information." I never got a phone call from anyone. I REALLY DON'T KNOW what these people are selling in the back of their truck but I've noticed its being sold by adults displaying unsavory character playing annoying loud music. At one point I came back to the front office and I asked if I should call the police. The same receptionist said she will make sure the vice-principal walks the perimeters so to chase away these people who sell out of their trucks. The sellers are still there off and on during the week...you can see them as you walk your kid away from school where the yellow buses park. On to the problem with the seller of unhealthy snacks/drinks from the mobile cart. She has been warned about advertising her snacks/Takis and drinks on the school's sidewalk that she has moved her business to the dangerous corner of 59th street and 36th ave. (imagine lots of car passing by on a narrow street, people walking everywhere without looking both ways). I was told that as long as the seller is not near/on the school's sideway then there is nothing the school can do. The seller wears gloves but it is the same gloves that is touching cash bills and making juice drinks at the same time. There is no water station, alcohol wipes, or diluted bleach wash solution to clean her cart or hands. Other students have complained to me that this seller has also short changed them of dollars but they were too scared to ask for their change. Perhaps I need to take matters into my own hands and contact the California tax board about these small businesses evading taxes and shut them down. How long does this need to continue? Does a student need to get sick from eating unhealthy drinks made by unsanitary gloves before the school does anything? There needs to be a jump start on the principal leadership, it is nearly non-existent. I believe the teacher quality is above satisfactory. The parent involvement can be above average if we all can be more vocal about problems encountered at this school so to get the administration off their chairs and do something. PS- I even checked this school's rating on www.greatschools.org and Peter Burnett scored 3/5 stars. There is a bully problem at this urban school that even locking the front gate with a metal chain does not control student behavior or keep students from encountering unsavory adults selling "stuff aka assorted candies".

Maybe I give this school a five star purely because of the soft spot I have for it, but I digress. I would 100% recommend this school for any parent that wants their child to have a great time during school, or to give them beautiful memories of their youth. I am not sure what they are up to nowadays (perhaps I'll return one day to check up with the teachers and principal) but from my knowledge, every year at the end before summer vacation, they have a huge school field day party with water slides, food, candy, and music blasting from huge speakers, and for the 6th graders around the spring time in May, every 6th grade teacher takes their entire class to a field trip at a camp named Leoni Meadows and it's such a fun experience that your child won't ever forget about. With Zip-lining, to hiking, the environment your child will be around is Mind blowing. There is also After school programs (ASES) and the staff there is so caring as well. Want your child to enroll in summer school? Peter Burnett also provides a summer school program that shows your child a way of learning in a fun and educational way, I still remember memories I had with my classmates in summer school. And lastly, the principal and teachers there are so amazing and caring (Shout out to my 5th grade teacher Mr.Decker) and Mr.Huezo is such a great principal, the man cares for his job and does a great work at what he's supposed to do, he'll treat your child as if it was his own, and he cares for all of them despite what others might say, he's a great role model for your kid, and he'll treat them with the upmost respect. The school also provides a nursing room with a nurse that takes care of your kid, and there is also a library that has a caring librarian. From field trips, to learning, this school WILL BE the perfect place for your child to learn, and to make nostalgic and beautiful memories while also making caring friends along the way, I have a soft spot for this school as a high schooler, and I know your child will have the same feeling as well when he grows up :)
