Yes, the coaches can be tough, but I know of no gymnastics coach that is not tough. Being tough is required to keep children safe and model the discipline needed to succeed at gymnastics. With that said, they celebrate every child's accomplishments, and provide loving guidance each and every day! Santa Fe is truly lucky to have a facility like this in town! My 2 granddaughters started taking gymnastics class here last night. They loved every minute and…read moredid not want to leave after the hours class was up. The younger one enjoyed the warm up exercises, tumbling, walking forward and back on the low balance beam and swinging on the rings.. They played Duck, Duck, Goose to wrap up the class. My older one did warm up stretching exercises, and hanging on the horizontal bar, some tumbling, and then the high balance beam. She was in a class with students that had more experience, so she was eager to emulate what they were doing and watching the older much advanced girls doing the floor exercises. Friday nights will never be the same and we will listen all week, to how many days it will be until the next gymnastics class.

Our girls are consistently given appropriate, unique challenges that motivate them and improve their skills. They have both improved more in 1 year at Rio, than they did in total in 4 years at another local gym. The coaches have tons of gymnastics knowledge and experience and are all wonderfully supportive of all the gymnasts. This program is fun and challenging in a positive way. Now, that's the technical stuff, and it's all fantastic, but the best thing our girls have gotten out of the Rio program is the bond they have developed to other gymnasts, the sense of belonging in the gym, and the experience of being part of a TEAM. Any building can house a gym, but it takes very special people to make a team, and that's something we've found in the staff, gymnasts and families at Rio, that we haven't found anywhere else! Our girls are so proud to be a part of Team Rio. They both love the sport of gymnastics, but they are truly passionate about THEIR team.

I would give 0 stars if I could. I am extremely disappointed with our experience here. From the…read moremoment class started, the instructor never introduced herself before or after class, which immediately felt unwelcoming. Mind you this is our first time trying gymnastics ever! What was even more upsetting was how my 5-year-old daughter was treated. The instructor looked at her with what appeared to be disgust and consistently ignored her while helping the other children in the class. My daughter is on the heavier side, and it genuinely felt like she was being treated differently because of her size. Every child deserves encouragement, patience, and equal attention, especially at such a young age. To make matters worse, the instructor spent what felt like 99% of the class on her phone instead of actively teaching, demonstrating skills, or paying attention to the children. Parents trust instructors to engage with and supervise their kids, and that simply did not happen. This experience left my daughter feeling excluded, and no child should leave gymnastics feeling that way. We will not be returning, and I sincerely hope the facility addresses both the professionalism of its staff and how every child is treated, regardless of their appearance. No child should leave a gymnastics class feeling ignored or less worthy than the other kids. We will absolutely not be returning, and I cannot recommend this gym to any parent looking for a positive, inclusive environment for their child unless your child is skinny. Definitely went and tried another gymnastics place and they definitely helped my child, was very attentive stayed off the phone and made her feel welcomed with all of her new friends!

Precision classes are smaller than some of the other gymnastic studios around, and we feel the students get much more personal attention. We are so glad we made the move!
