We did a wedding weekend, so my grandparents, parents, and our entire bridal party were able to stay at the venue the entire weekend which made it really special. The staff at Cherokee Dock were awesome. We were able to call or email whenever we needed something, and Kelly and all of the staff were so knowledgeable about the venue and the wedding industry. They were super kind and flexible and helped with whatever we needed. They are definitely pros in the wedding industry! All my vendors also loved working with the Cherokee Dock staff. It rained on our wedding day, but The Estate at Cherokee Dock has a built-in rain plan that made the day so much less stressful. They also have so many beautiful ceremony spots, a great catering kitchen that all of our caterers loved. The pictures came out amazing, too! There were so many great photo spots like on the swing by the Cumberland River and on the dock! This weekend was the best weekend of my life and I could not recommend having your wedding at The Estate At Cherokee Dock more. Our family and guests have not stopped talking about how amazing this wedding was, many of them told us it the best wedding they have ever been to! Cherokee Dock is an open vendor venue, so we could have the wedding planners and vendors we wanted. This was extremely helpful for picking our bartender as there were no additional fees that had to do with alcohol like most venues. Seriously if you are thinking about having your wedding here, do!! All of her friends came from everywhere and we were all able to stay at the mansion together for several days. The mansion is beautiful, extremely well kept and quite modern. The views from every window are gorgeous views of the river. My daughter loved it so much that she wanted to get married there.... Fast Forward to this weekend: The wedding was more than anything any of us expected. Every detail was thought of. There wasn't a leaf by the pool. There wasn't a weed anywhere to be found. The garden ceremony area was expansive with the sun shining over the fields. The setting made the perfect backdrop for the couple's photos, complete with wildlife in the background. After a lovely ceremony, we enjoyed cocktail hour and then moved into the reception space, which was exactly what this couple had dreamed of. The band played, and we danced the night away. Just note there's no air conditioning in the reception barn, but there are very large fans. Long Hollow Gardens & Vineyards was the perfect venue for this Bride and Grooms dream wedding. We bought General Entry tickets & wildflower picking tickets online a few weeks in advance. When we got to the gardens they asked for our names and directed us to park. Once inside we stopped over a the bar for a wine tasting - all of the wines are made in Tennessee on property - and bought 2 bottles for us to enjoy throughout the night. We also checked in for wildflower picking at the bar and were given glass jars to fill with flowers. The staff was very kind and helpful during that process. I also thoroughly enjoyed the free strawberry lemonade and regular lemonade that they provided guests, though some of my friends thought it was too sweet! Our one mistake was not going to pick flowers earlier in the night. We started when the sun was setting, but the area was so large that it was dark by the time we were finished. It was also the last week for wildflower picking, so there weren't as many left available as I imagine there is earlier in the month. We also ordered pasta from Pasta Gailfi, a food truck that was on site and enjoyed it at our table. If I were to do it over again, I would also bring our own food and a deck of cards or a board game for us to enjoy as well! The venue was stunning, and I imagine it acts as a beautiful wedding venue as well.

We set up one on one classes with a photography instructor and it was absolutely amazing. His caregiver said that she had never seen him as animated and talkative as after his class. They offer all kinds of art lessons, in groups or one on one. I think they also offer music lessons. It's a fantastic organization for anyone of any skill level who wants to learn more and explore their creative side. I highly recommend them.

There…read morewere aspects of attending an opera at this location (rather than at TPAC) that I really enjoyed: plenty of parking (although it's a bit of a walk to get from the parking to the other side of the building where the entrance is; they have valet if you prefer), small and intimate venue, reasonably priced drinks (I bought three cocktails and a glass of wine for less than $40), and well-decorated for the opera we attended (with spooky decorations and backlighting). So why not at least four stars? The room where the opera was performed was not ideal. The chairs are on what reminded me of high school auditorium bleachers (so that each row can have a good view of the stage). But the aisles between rows were very, very narrow, making it very hard to let people by into the center seats. The stairs on either side of the bleachers were also very narrow, and you had to be careful when getting off the last step and beginning your scoot over to your seat. And the seats? So uncomfortable I spent a bit of time trying to figure out just how they could be that uncomfortable. After the opera, my mother in law commented that I must have loved the opera, because I was at the edge of my seat the whole time. I replied that, while I had enjoyed the performance, I was at the edge of my seat because I couldn't sit comfortably back in that chair. (The complaint about the chairs was shared by many people in my 10+ person party.) The venue is intimate, but I think they could do to remove a row or two to make more space between the rows. And some new chairs - ANY - would immensely improve the experience of attending an opera here as well.
