Everyone gets their own cocktail tools and you share ingredients with your partner (or you make friends with a stranger). The guy who was instructing was very knowledgeable and funny. Definitely made the experience fun. All 3 cocktails were delicious - I even liked the tequila one which I normally avoid. The spirits they used were quite nice (El Dorado, Marie Brizzard, Rittenhouse). They had a charcuterie board at both ends of the room for people to get snacks in between drinks. We had a lot of fun and will definitely come back.

I watch plenty of videos on making drinks and I will say it is so much more fun when you can make those drinks with others. Also, it is good to get some background information on the history of tequila and mezcal from a very knowledgeable instructor/cocktail conjurer. Trust me, after leaving the event you will watch your bartender more when making your drink. Hey, you took one class at LL so you are basically on the level of some bartenders at certain places. If you decide to check out LL there are a variety of sessions that focus on various alcohols and even focus on drinks for a particular time of the year. At this time, I chose an event for us where the foundation of our drinks would be tequila. It was a hard choice because there also was a fall cocktail class. Still no regrets on my choice and just me being greedy to make and wanting to make the most in educating myself on other libations. The setup was nice. You can either sit at the bar with your drink set or it can just be you with your partner, partner(s), no judging, on date night, or a friend foray. I was told that they host company events here. I wish I could have an employer who one day will see and consider the making of drinks as a team-building exercise? But you know how HR is. The best part is that spouse and I made the same drinks but even with a few slight variations we could taste the differences in our drinks. It was fun and I admit I finally learned some additional ways of using ingredients you might have around that can be incorporated into your drinks. On the next trip to Nashville, I could see myself coming back especially for one of the spring/summer seasonal cocktail events. In case you are worried about not having any food in you before going they do serve light bites and there are plenty of eateries right there in the area to choose from.

They have earplugs for $1, but these are usually rock bands playing. First off, the price is unbeatable. I've been to 2 concert nights here and both times and have spent a very reasonable price for tickets, merch, food, and drinks. Tickets are usually about $8 online and $10 at the door for 3 bands! Both concerts I went to, there was some merch a couple of the bands were selling: shirts are only like $20 and CDs were about $5, as opposed to 3 or 4x that price at concerts downtown. Food is actually really good here too! I think the menu changes each night, plus vegan! I ordered a Krab Kake with hearts of palm, artichoke, and chickpeas when they had a menu from The Cumberland Po Boy. Drinks are your typical canned sodas and beers. Overall, last night I spent less than $40 on tickets, a CD from one of the bands, food, AND drinks. Do yourself a favor and visit here for a fun night and if you want to discover some new bands.

I saw a…read morepretty great show here and have seen some promo for upcoming shows that may bring me back but I'm kind of in the middle on this one. Now, I thought "The End" was about as DIY as Nashville got--I was wrong. This is by far the real deal DIY option for Nashville. The folks who run the place are really friendly, approachable, good people as far as I can tell based on those I interacted with. It's basically a store front. They serve food--vegan--and everything I saw emerge from the kitchen the last time I was hear looked and smelled delicious but I had eaten before the show so I can't vouch personally for taste. If you want a drink at a show here they have PBR for $3 and a couple of Fat Bottom varieties (all can) for $5 each, so they certainly aren't gouging their audience. Tickets for most shows are ridiculously cheap (under $12 in most cases) which is kind of crazy. So c'mon, if you're catching a show buy some merch--some of the acts they get here are top-shelf and have driven some distance to make the show. As mentioned it's totes DIY so they're gonna be lugging their own gear, setting up and selling their own merch, and staging everything themselves to boot. Take care of them and tip your server/bartender too. So, the last show I saw here was pretty booked, 100+ or so I suppose and it's quite a wait and mess for the bathroom at that point so prepare. The middle of the audience (standing room) is in line with the exit door so while they have curtains to block out the streetlight for shows you're going to be staring into bright entry lights if you're not at the front or in the back of the crowd. It's kind of a weird vibe here at times though I suspect that is flexible with the show and in no way in the control of the staff/ownership. What I mean is, I've been to a ton of shows in almost every venue in the area and though at a lot of shows like the kind that drew us out at my recent visit a lot of folks arrive by themselves. Most venues this results in some interaction, some banter about the bands that you're about to see, etc. Most everyone at this past show just kind of hung out head down and zilch on the interaction--which man, has nothing to do with the venue I guess but was super noticeable to me. Parking is a bit of a mess as they have maybe a dozen at most spots and there's not much in the way of decent street parking in the area. If you live in the city Lyft your way over but if you're driving in from further out get there early or you're SOL. Nashville as we know is not big on public transit or really even safe plentiful ride share parking. In short, really glad a thing like this exists as it gives a platform for a lot of acts that might not otherwise play Nashville but recognize what this is if you're coming out and plan accordingly.

I just appreciate that the city still has at least 1 downtown adjacent lot they haven't sold out to private companies who gouge the citizens of Nashville and hurt local businesses by forcing customers to pay something like $45 for an hour of parking. While an event, like a Preds game, might spike the price to park here at MCC up to $20, it's typically just $15 to park here for an entire evening or day. You can walk pretty much anywhere in downtown from here if you like. So rather than pay the highway robbery of those other PNC and Metropolis lots (companies who regularly face lawsuits for price gouging and unethical business practices, including a recent Nashville settlement by Metropolis) I always opt for a spot here to walk. Just think, in another world/time/era, this would just be the standard with the city owning lots at reasonable rates and using that money for city improvements rather than private companies charging astronomical fees to line their own pockets.

It's nice that Nashville has more of a touristy attraction to it, but the majority of stuff, places, restaurants, and bars are NOT COUNTRY, they're simply pop to cater to all the silly bridal showers and other parties that come here. That being said, this convention center actually looked great and was laid out nicely with parking close by. It's a decent size, for most medium conferences and conventions.

Everyone, including us, dressed up for the occasion! You get 5 course, which included a small "bite" and a vampire themed cocktails. I was disappointed about one of the cocktails because it was supposed to be in a blood bag, but they ran out of supplies apparently. I wasn't too happy about that. But the rest was great. The ambiance was amazing! They had everything decorated like you would imagine for a vampire establishment. Each course was introduced by a spooky ghoul. Each course had the theme music playing for whichever vampire movie or show that the course was dedicated to. Bottom line, if you ever see this pop up event in, don't hesitate. Book it!

We found this venue online when it was just a sketched photo on a random search engine. When we…read morevisited 14TENN, it was completely under construction in the dead of winter with obviously no heat or electricity. We bundled up in coats and scarves, and walked around the empty construction site at night with our iPhone flashlights 14TENN only consisted of some raw wood, a few original beams and a wonderful owner named Sean, who had no staff hired in Nashville yet. But we knew we HAD to get married there. We could see their vision and it matched ours. BEST DECISION EVER. I mean look at this place. And their customer service.. Over the top!! I could go on for days. Just know, the insanely beautiful space is just the icing on the cake. It's the people there that make this place what it is. Which leads me to our wedding coordinator Kaitlynn Montgomery. An angel in human form. This girl, y'all. I messaged her at least once a week with another ridiculous idea. And she encouraged me on every single one of them. Anyone who knows me knows how annoyingly Type A I am and how I prefer to do things myself and plan every detail to nauseam. Kaitlynn took SO much off my plate. If I asked her about something or suggested something, she had already taken care of it 3 days prior. She was always 5 steps ahead of me at all times. She single handily took my stress level down 1,000 notches on a daily basis. Every single last detail or idea that we came up with for this wedding would absolutely have never been possible without Kaitlynn. She brought it all to life. And Ellyse.. Her and Kaitlynn worked their butts off together on our wedding day and it was perfect. Every time I saw Ellyse that day, she was smiling ear to ear and it immediately put my nerves at ease. These two girls are just the absolute sweetest and SO freaking good at their jobs. Now, one of the most important guy of the night... Our alcohol and bar concierge, Hunter!! I remember calling him one day thinking, he is going to kill me and I'm about to make him hate his job I was like, So I was thinking about cocktail hour and how it would be cool to serve hand-crafted blueberry mojitos named after our dog in 150 coconut cups with stir sticks that have our dog's face on them. Oh and I want them all displayed on shelves with signs and the whole works. He was like, hell yeah, you got it. Not only that, he insisted on pulling out all the tricks. Infusing his own simple syrup with mint and having us over TWICE to taste the recipe and make sure it was perfect. He loves his job and it shows. He took full ownership of the bar and making sure we didn't even have to think about it. THANK YOU HUNTER!!! In summary,14TENN was an absolute dream come true and we cannot recommend them enough.
