I had a few projects that he promised to finish in 2-3 days. After paying for the materials, he kept cancelling appointments. Now, TWO MONTHS LATER & after over a dozen cancelled appointments, the projects are still incomplete. Everything's started but nothing's finished. I've got dug-up holes that have been sitting for weeks, to the point where my neighbors and HOA are complaining. He trimmed my trees but left dead branches outside for 2 weeks & all the leaves blew into my neighbors' properties. I had to clean it all up myself after their complaints. The worst part? He repeatedly said he'd come by, and after waiting all day, he wouldn't show or even have the courtesy to call me ahead of time. I've wasted weeks and countless weekends waiting for him. I even went on a 2-week vacation, came back, and discovered he hadn't done any work at all. I'm beyond frustrated with constantly calling and begging him to do the job I already paid for.

Apparently a landscaping service can't clean up large clods of dirt which I could pick up by hand and rake through. To be fair. Pros: Responsive and quick to come out to give a quote and set a day for the work to be done. Clear communication when work had to be split up into two separate times because his crew contracted Covid and they did not have the manpower. Cons: Left a mess on the lawn after removing sod. I accept that some soil would be left after removing sod but this was an unacceptable amount. Instead of cutting the sod and rolling it (they did this for the first piece) they resorted to just throwing it around. Had to spent another 3 hours the next day shovelling clods of sod and dirt to clean up the mess ( filled up an entire wheelbarrow full of dirt and rocks) Mulched the beds as agreed on but left mulch on lawn as well as out of flower bed. First 3 pictures show the quality of work Beck's left and the 4th picture shows how it looked after I cleaned up with minimal tools (aka my hands, shovel and rake).

I found Goldtree through a google search, and saw they were a local company, so I gave them a call. They got back to me promptly (within about 10 minutes). As luck would have it, they were actually going to be in my area doing some other yards later in the day, and said they would come by to give an estimate, and if accepted, do the work. They showed up as scheduled, and Brian took a look around, and gave me an estimate to include mowing and trimming. Their full service actually includes more, but I wasn't that concerned with blowing debris, edging, etc. I just wanted my weeds to be back under control. The price was reasonable, and one of the things I liked is that Goldtree is willing to do a One-time service. Other lawn companies want you to sign a 5 (or more) visit contract. Anyway, Brian and his team got the job done, and about 30 minutes after they started, my lawn no longer looked like a jungle. Given their response, I would not hesitate to use them for other lawn care issues - from basic maintenance to reseeding to re-sodding.

We had a big Chestnut oak tree in our back yard that had started dying last year. It had really…read morewide, spreading branches and a thick trunk. It was also located at the top of a bank that leads down to a creek, so the location was tricky. We obtained four estimates before starting our project. Caliber exceeded the other tree companies in every way. Their proposal was professional, specific, and detailed, and they provided information about their licensing and insurance. Both Tim and Julian were very responsive to questions. We had some limitations about where they could go on the property with the heavy equipment, because of the location of our septic field. They put down mats and did their best to minimize the impact of their work on the yard. They used two crews so there were eight men working at once, but they coordinated their efforts so well, and every person was friendly and helpful. They chipped branches and hauled away all the huge trunk sections. I would recommend them very highly for more complicated jobs.

Samco was one of the few companies to respond when I sent out inquiries recently about having my…read moredriveway (which was about 50+ years old) replaced. After some email contact, Sam Jr. and I got in touch, and he came out to give an estimate. Despite the age of the driveway, he said it was in decent condition and said there were 2 options. I could resurface the driveway at a cost of about $4.50 a square foot, or we could replace the driveway at an original cost of $7.00 a square foot. We went over the pros and cons of each option, and it made more sense (given the age of the driveway) to fully replace it. When he gave me the written estimate, he had knocked a bit of the cost off, and it was down to about $6.10 a square foot. He knew I had some other contractors scheduled, and was polite about it. Later that evening, he gave me a call, and since they were going to be in the area on a job, he was able to get the price down to about $5.00 a square foot. At that point, I jumped on the deal, as that price was only a minimal amount more than the resurfacing would have cost. Sam and the team showed up on time the day of the appointment and went over things one last time. Their work was professional and quick. They take care to ensure straight edges, and that cracks (such as between the garage, porch, and sidewalk and the driveway were filled in. They also elevated the driveway a touch as the grass line was higher that the original driveway. But there is still plenty of slope for the driveway as well. We got some strong storms last night (and overnight), but the driveway was bone-dry this morning, instead of the usual puddles and lakes that would form after a storm on the old driveway. I would peek out at them as they were working, and Sam was always fully involved working on something, including getting down on his hands and knees when needed to check a spot or correct something. Their clean up was just as thorough and professional, and Sam gave me all the information needed for letting the driveway cure given the hot days we've been having. All in all, I'm highly satisfied with the job they did, and would highly recommend them for any residential paving need.
