Loved this drive-in! Two screens and two movies each. The price was right as they had a deal on couples that night. We parked our mud covered Jeep and waited for the start. We needed a handheld radio which we rented for $5. Cool that they had those. Then we went to get snacks. Oh my! It was a nostalgic moment as there were so many goodies from my childhood: oversized popsicles, bubblegum cigarettes, boxed popcorn, and so much more. I was literally a kid in the candy store all over again. And the prices were not ridiculous. Appreciate that. We sat in the back of the Jeep enjoying our snacks and watching the movie. There was only one downside. Those smoking pot ruin the ambience for the rest of us. I wish they wouldn't let them smoke pot at their business. Just because you're outside doesn't mean you're alone. Does the idea of a silent Deadpool flick excite you? If not, better plan to stay in your vehicle with the windows rolled up and the volume cranked about as loud as it can go. Seems they lowered the FM transmission volume from last year in order to encourage more rentals on their portable radios. A decent 40w portable will only be able to be heard from about 4 feet away, except for the ads, of course. Will not be returning until its fixed and replacement tickets are given. read more

The Capri drive in movie theater is a true Americana experience that can not be missed! Forget the EXCEPTIONAL value!!! It is an experience worth the 3 hour drive I made to get there. The screen was amazing quality, and the audio is good as your radio. No lag between speech and video, and great movie resolution. They allow you to bring a cooler in for a small fee, or use their exceptional snack bar! No need for a futuristic DeLorean with a flux capacitor, this experience makes time travel possible!! read more

One of the few remaining Drive-In theater in Michigan. Not to mention its been owned by the same family since it opened back 1964. I've been going to this theater since I was kid. It's a perfect place to take your family for a night at the movies. Or taking your date out for the night. You can't beat the price, $8.00 for two movies..what a deal! The Staff at the gate and Snack Bar were friendly and food was good. If you live close by Coldwater, Michigan..take a trip over and support the Capri. I try and see a movie every year when I can. Yay, our first drive-in theater! My bf and I came here while in Coldwater, MI. We got here early (around 7:50 pm) and weren't sure they were going to open since no one else was there. Then we saw another car drive up, so we got in line behind that car. Soon after, there were many other cars lining up behind us. Before long, the box office was open, which you drive through to say what movie you'd like to watch and pay for. The box office opens at 8 PM and this is a CASH ONLY place, so have some bills in hand . It is originally $8 admission for adults. However, I had ordered a Coldwater, MI brochure before our trip and inside of it was a coupon for the Capri Drive-In for $1 off per ticket. Due to using this, the tickets for the two of us came out to $14. For those who are planning a trip in advance and would like a little discount, I suggest ordering a free brochure of Coldwater online and looking for a coupon. Either way, the price really can't be beat: Adults: $8 Kids Ages 5-11: $2 Kids Under Age 5: FREE After you pay at the box office, you drive to the lot with the movie screening that you chose. They indicate what radio station to turn to for each movie and they have two movies that show in two separate sections. Each section has two movies that play one after another. The first movie plays as soon as it gets dark enough (for us, that was around 9:30 PM). So, basically, for $8 per adult, you're getting two movies to watch! Most people stayed for both movies. Unfortunately, I got tired a little into the second movie, so we left early. Really a shame, considering that I saw kids around the ages of 5-10 who beat me past my bedtime! Also, behind the drive-in, there is a building for concessions and restrooms. I didn't go in there, so I can't really say much for it, but just know that there is a place for a restroom break or snacks, if needed. As a last sidenote, true to a known sentiments of a drive-in theater, my bf said that he noticed the couple in the car next to us making out in their pick-up truck. That detail, along with the songs they were playing from the 70's and 80's really gave this place the "vibe" of a drive-in theater. read more

This Drive-In Theater was one of the best my family and I have been to! The snack building is very clean with alot of choices, we got a whole Hungry Howies Pizza. The restrooms were very clean. The staff was very friendly, and for two movies at only $8 each adult, our son was free, you just can't beat that! A fun night for my 2 kids, and another Mom and her 2 kids. My suggestion is to bring a battery operated radio to hear the film's soundtrack, and NOT to run your car's radio! (Our vehicle wouldn't start afterward, and luckily they have free assistance on the premises for customers who are in that situation!) Most cars parked backwards and tailgated, this allows kids to lay down. Visibility was great, and I never felt the screen being blocked by another car. It's good to bring some camp chairs, extra blankets, jackets and bug spray! (and the previously mentioned radio) The snack bar is well stocked, reasonably priced, and the line moves quickly. They offer pizza, but ONLY w/pepperoni. I WISH they'd have had a plain cheese option for my starving son, but we found something else. The bathrooms are immaculate! (I am usually not so impressed with a restroom) There is a sign up in the bathroom that the water has nitrate in it, so water from faucet is NOT suitable for drinking- and especially NOT suitable for infants. Bring/buy bottled water if you have a baby with you. read more

Like the humpback whale, bald eagle and other endangered species, Drive In Movie Theaters are impossible to find anymore. Great childhood memories of going to the drive in and Capri did everything to revive those memories. Food is reasonably priced (by Chicago standards) and good, easier to get out than to get in, but worth the experience. Yes, five stars. read more

We love going to Capri Drive-In especially when they offer Groupon specials! They always have current movies and getting to see two movies in a night makes for a reasonable night of entertainment! My ONLY complaint about the actual Drive-in theater is that they do NOT have a handicapped bathroom stall. Their bathrooms have 6 or 7 stalls, but the stalls look like the size of elementary school stalls. They could EASILY widen one of the end stalls to make it easy for a handicapped person to use the restroom, but since they don't -- I have to wait 4 HOURS to use the restroom! The one time I tried to use the bathroom, I literally had to put one foot on the toilet in order to shut the bathroom door. Other than the bathroom situation, I love drive-ins! Capri is well maintained, there are always staff available during the movies, and they do offer assistance for anyone with a weak battery as well. read more

Soooo....My brother wanted to come here for his bday. There was a line down the road to get in that extended about a mile. It was very dark, with poor markings, and tight roads/spaces when we finally entered. I really think that making this place easier to navigate in the dark would be better. The movie and snacks were affordable. There were two screens showing films. We will be back with the family next time and will arrive early to find a space when it is not so dark. read more

Love this place! My family went for the first time a few weeks ago and watched Turbo and Despicable Me 2. It was a completely different experience compared to a traditional movie theater. We have an equinox and thought we would just open the hatch and sit in the back...yeah, not the most comfortable even with our piles of blankets and pillows. Next time we will take a hint from the people parked next to us and just bring chairs. $8 for adults and $4 for kids for two movies, you can't beat it. We did drive an hour to get there though so...we didn't really save any money. But it was a blast and at least when my 16mo old son got cranky and tired, we didn't have to leave he just fell asleep snuggled up in the car. Concessions are kinda expensive, but we shelled out the $14 bucks for a whole pizza and picked up some popcorn in an effort to support this place, but we did bring in our own drinks and candy. We are planning on going back as soon as next weekend. If you are in the area you should totally check this place out! read more

Might be a little biased, but I adore this place! I've been going every summer since I was little with my family and it's a great experience. Affordable prices and all different kinds of movies playing. Even had some help from friendly staff when I left my car lights on accidentally and killed my battery lol! Hard to give a vintage drive in a negative review. People who work here are always very helpful and friendly. Snack bar has a large assortment to choose from. Only negative I have is that I wish they still had the speakers on the poles. Having to use the car radio is good until you goto leave and have a dead battery. read more

We saw Despicable Me 2 and Monsters University on DM2s opening day (July 3rd) and the Capri was packed! We waited in line for about 30 minutes before getting in, which was unusual but we're glad to see all the support they get. There aren't enough drive-ins anymore. We didn't use the concession as we brought our own soda and candies but have in the past and they are reasonably priced. The only complaint was the ladies restroom was unable to keep up with supply and demand. Waited in line 15 minutes during intermission and when we finally got into the restroom it was apparent why. Half the stalls (5) were out of commission due to clogging. The water pressure seemed really low and was definitely unprepared for all of the patrons. Bonus was finding a coupon online for $2 off 1 person per car. read more

this was the best i have gone to once covid-19 started i did not get to do much or watch movies out but i felt really confabulate here i wanted wendys for dinner but the line was to long and i was scared to miss are movie so we went and we got to watch one movie for free but i went in and got a burger and it was the best servise they where nice and really polite. i recomend to come here it is the best i have found. thank you for being open and what i loved about it the most it waws in a setting where i felt safe. read more

Drive-ins were once my most favorite places to visit. Were down to a precious few now. Some are o.k., some are sad, but the Capri Drive-In is a rarity. It hearkens back to the glory days of Drive-Ins. Clean, Fun, Pleasant, Happy, Just Great! Movies are always first rate. The food is good (remember its drive-in food which means good = Great!) Well worth the hour drive for us. Only complaint is that sometimes they split the kids movies between the two screens or pair them with non kids' movies, but I am sure this is just business. We did the fourth of July there this year and it was great. Fireworks between the two movies was an added bonus. Accidentally overpaid (my twins are four years old and supposed to be free). They refunded me the money right away. we love the Capri--it is one of our favorite summer traditions. read more
