The food here is good, but everything else is terrible. For a $15-20 pasta entrée, you get a portion that's half the size of other Italian restaurants in the area. Service is terrible. Plus, for the prices you are paying, I expect to drink out of a normal glass (not cheap super small plastic cups). I have eaten here a dozen times or more, but last week was awful. I ordered a dish I get regularly- Mediterranean Pasta I think it's called- beets, spinach whole wheat pasta, walnuts and goat cheese. It is normally delicious. The golden beets were literally black and rotten. I asked the server to take it back- she returned to tell me that they were roasted. I sorted them all out after they weren't going to do a thing to fix the problem. They were roasted, but they also had hung around so long that they were black with rot. I was astounded that they would give me back this rotten food without any apology from the chef- who I have complimented in the past. love this place. food is really, good, nice size portions that are not huge, so if you are going out after you eat you are not all bloated. the summer is when it's really great because of the outdoor dining. The winter is tough to get a seat because it is VERY small inside. Also wish they took reservations. read more

I've lived here over half a year now and this place is hands down my go-to when I want delicious food, fast, for the best prices in town. The sandwiches are amazing--try the Porchetta or the Ligure--I crave them!! The outdoor seating is amazing. So much space! I've read reviews where people complain that the servers are slow and the interior space is awkward. I've never had a problem with the servers...they're always so friendly! The inside is a little awkward--split between two separate rooms--but it doesn't bother me when I can get delicious food for under $8! read more

Capriccio has always been a place I was willing to put up with the slow service because the food is good (and reasonably priced) and the ourdoor atmosphere is amazing. I was here again about a week ago and we had a very friendly, attentive server who really exceeded our expectations. Maybe we just got lucky, or maybe they're starting to listen to these reviews. I've been to Capriccio several times and the food as well as the service has always been excellent. Tonight was possibly an exception, but enough to turn me away from the establishment for good. A friend of mine had ordered a Fresca pizza with crushed pepper. Unfortunately what arrived was a pizza with onions. It was sent back again asking for a Fresca with crushed pepper. 30 min later (the other meals were already served) arrived a pizza with roasted red peppers. We asked for the manager as it was clear there might have been a misunderstanding and the right pizza may never be coming. His name was David. He had spiked up hair, a blue shirt on unbuttoned half way down with his cross necklace showing. Immediately he began to challenge my friend and ask her why she didn't complain sooner. And kept pushing making us feel like we were criminals for raising the point that our order was not correct. In addition, I complained that when I asked one of the waiters if there was hot oil, he bluntly and loudly said NO!. I was taken aback because I've eaten here before and they've always provided. Another waiter was kind enough to get me some hot oil. When I told David the manager that this was a bit unsettling, he responded by saying "Oh thats too bad". And walked away. David was "kind enough" to take the pizza never ordered off of our bill and he never showed up again and never even apologized. I asked to see him again and he was extremely rude and asked "what we wanted". So I told him that he could be a bit nicer about this. He challenged again us again and then eventually just dismissed us and walked away saying "you're welcome". This was among the poorest customer service I have ever received. The wait staff was excellent and apologetic and admitted to their mistakes. The manager, David (blue shirt, was hispanic looking, spiked up jersey shore style hair) was the definition of rude, insensitive, and downright offensive. I even asked him if he honestly thought we trying to fleece him for an $8 pizza. The order was wrong thats all we were saying. Based on this experience I would not recommend Capriccio to my friends or family. It's a shame too because it appeared the wait staff was more empathetic and understanding than management. read more

Since this has happened several times I felt that I should let others know about the delivery service, which is UNACCEPTABLE. We are a large office that is no more than 5 mins away from the restaurant. We ordered 4 dishes and it took almost 2 hours to be delivered!!! Called the restaurant to check after 1.5 hours and were told to just wait and she will contact the driver. No one called us back. We called back to check again and were told tha the driver just dropped off another order and will be coming to us next. Do they only have one driver that delivers during busy lunch time?Feels like tthe driver is out running his personal errands and not delivering food. By the time food arrived it was cold and unappealing. Very annoying, just warn customers that it will be 2hours and NOT 45 mins before they decide to order from you. Never again. read more

Capriccio. What can I say? I've been coming here for years and feel like its my family's go-to restaurant when we aren't agreeing on where to eat. We all love it! My son, who is a very picky eater, loves the Rigatoni alla Vodka and my daughter, a healthy eater, eats their whole wheat pasta or their smoked salmon and goat cheese salad. My husband loves their steaks and pastas. I always try new things because everything tastes GREAT. The problem is that their inside space is very small. The best and most popular time to come is during the late spring- end of fall time period when there is outside seating available. The outside tables are practically always full, especially on a sunny weekend, but the kind waiters are always able to find us seats in 5 minutes or less! The owner also owns a gelato place next to Capriccio, so he is always in the area. He is a really nice guy and my husband likes to say hi when we come. My one complaint is that occasionally (not always) the service is slow, but hey, they can't always be perfect. read more

Just came back from this place. We ate there before, about a year ago, and it was a very nice experience. Now - completely opposite. The food tasted as if it was a few days old, and we didn't even get what we ordered. We asked for a grilled cheese for our toddler twins but got ham&cheese sandwich, and when we asked for a replacement, we got it, but we were still charged for ham&cheese, and the floor manager refused to take it off our tab even though they took it away from us after the replacement. The service in general was very poor, staff very rude and inconsiderate. This experience kind of ruined our day; don't ruin yours! read more

My friend and I wanted to go to a nice restaurant with outdoor seating last night so we chose Capriccio's. I had been there once before on a date and I enjoyed the food and the service with great so I thought it would be a good place to go again. I was wrong. I ordered a Capris Panini and I asked for avocado instead of tomato, with a side of basil pesto. The point of the Capris Panini is the mozzarella cheese. I received my sandwich and automatically started dipping the sandwich into the basil pesto ( which was delicious!) without realizing until halfway through...that there wasn't even any cheese on it ( that's the whole point of the sandwich!!) I finished the first half and planned on wrapping up the second wrap to go, thinking I could just add the cheese on myself for the next day's lunch. Our waitress came over and automatically threw my dirty napkin on top of the perfectly good half sandwich instead of even asking if I wanted it to go. I took the napkin off and asked if I could please get it wrapped and she said yes no problem. About ten minutes later my friend receives her leftovers and mine are not included. I called the waitress over and she told me that she threw my sandwich out by accident. Seriously? On a positive note though she did apologize and said she would get ma an entire new one for free. I accepted her offer and repeated what it was, making sure that I included the MOZZERELLA and she repeated back my order correctly. I guess it was my own fault that I didn't check the new sandwich until I got home ( even though she came back and said "here's your mozzarella sandwich") but when I opened it up...once again...there was no cheese. Did you guys run out of cheese and just not want to tell me? I don't get it. So so disappointed. read more

I have to say that i was a little sketchy about going there at first because of the three stars BUT a HAVE to admit these bad reviews do not do them justice whatsoever. I do encourage all Italian food lovers to try it out. The food and flavors were amazing and the kitchen staff was unbelievably friendly. I love that i ordered the "Famous Zucchini Chips"(named by the our very funny waitress, Fatima) as appetizer and i later went on to the DELICIOUS Bianca pizza! The absolute best part was that the restaurant permits you to modify the food as you wish! I decided to add Chicken Cutlet to it and it was nothing less than perfect. Oddly enough the food was not as greasy as other places. Oh and the drinks! I did not even know the restaurant was serving BRUNCH on Sundays now! And to top it off the ALL BOTTLES OF WINE were 50% OFF!!!!!!! So naturally I got a bottle of the Montepulciano (YUM)! Over all it was a great ambiance and the weather was perfect as was the FOOD! I have been going to Cappriccio for years, however over the last several visits I have been very disappointed. The service has gotten awful and the food quality has gone down the drain. One incident in particular will keep me from visiting this establishment again. Our grilled calamari came and as I was eating it a big piece of plastic was found, not a small one, a big piece of plastic! I let the waitress know and she briefly apologized and then took the plastic and threw it on the sidewalk (littering!). Then my Cappricio Salad came (which I have gotten MANY times in the past), this salad has shrimp and crab meat on it, however this time there was no crabmeat whatsoever. Again, I let the waitress know. She briefly apologized again, but not once did she offer a new salad or to get me the crabmeat (the crabmeat is what makes this salad so expensive!). When the check came I was surprised to find every item we ordered was charged, nothing was comped. I couldn't believe it! Extremely disappointed. This place has gotten severely mismanaged and the training of the staff is pretty much non-existent. read more

Good Food, Very Good Service from the Staff - But the Owner's level of service was horrible. My wife, our 1 1/2 year old son and I took two other couples and their kids out for dinner at Capriccio. As we were wrapping up our night, the leather strap on the high chair my son was sitting in ripped off the chair and my son slid through the opening and got physically stuck in the chair. He was hurt and screaming. The wait staff almost immediately came over to help. After nearly two harrowing minutes of him being stuck, we finally managed to pull my son free from the broken high chair. My son was clearly hurt, so the wait staff indicated that they were going to let the owner know what happened. After another few minutes had passed with no sign of anyone coming to help us, I went up to the owner myself. I hurriedly asked him if he was aware of what happened and that my son was hurt. His response was "I am aware, but we cannot be responsible for every chair that might break." Appalled by his response, I then asked the owner if he was aware of the fact that my son was hurt...the owner indicated "This is why we have insurance" and then he asked me if my son needed an ambulance. I would not recommend eating at Capriccio Cafe. The owner has demonstrated a complete disregard for safety and callousness when something goes wrong. read more

I just got home from Capriccio with a cold take out pizza. The pizza is cold because I ordered outside and when I asked about it with the person who I ordered with, a woman came out with my pizza. She had quite the attitude telling me how I should have come in side and asked for it instead of waiting for it where I ordered. Now, it that was the bad part of their business they would have got two stars. However, the other thing that happened was even worse. A family was eating outside, where we were waiting, and they had 3 kids, around 5, 6 and 9. The kids were running rampant all around, climbing up the umbrella's. The parents were enjoying their wine, and the staff did absolutely nothing. That was until, while climbing up the umbrella the little girl got the rope from the umbrella caught around her neck and if she let go of the bar, would have hung. She actually had to get cut down. You can't make this up! So getting screamed at, because they didn't bring out my food was the best thing i could say about the place. read more
