The burrata Osteria and Caesar salad entrees were flavorful and enough for two persons apiece. For entrees, our group enjoyed veal Osso Bucco, veal Sicilian, chicken Marsala, chicken martini and, veal piccata and chicken cardinale. All very good, with three people having enough for leftovers. We have been here several times in the past. This was the, by far the best. We were seated at a great table for having a conversation. We started with a Caesar salad which was split by the kitchen. I had the shrimp and scallop francese special. It was delicious. The portion was plentiful and tasty. My husband had the salmon which was perfectly prepared and he savored. Best tasting Italian food I've had in Norwalk. Prepared old school style. The added bonus is the hard crusty bread. They give half a loaf with a garlic/pepper oil for sopping when I place a takeout. I save some of it to cook with. The restaurant is a little dated, but I think that adds to the dining experience. It feels old school and compliments the food. The servers and bartender are very attentive and oblige any requests for changes to the menu. Also the portions are huge and the prices are reasonable. There's always leftovers. Came for a dinner party PARKING - a real plus they have their own lot off the main road you turn and it's in the back. This area of Norwalk is tough for street parking. ENTRANCE - we were alone and our eventual waiter greeted us with smiles and giggles. Quite a character. MILEU - the decor is quite elegant a good place for a date so to speak. Very nice wall paintings and plates. There are a couple of sections the one we were in had 15 tables all superbly set up with nice table cloths etc. MENU - a nice overall selection plus some nice specials. For those gluten free you can get pasta that fits your digestion APPETIZERS - I tried the meatballs and to be honest they weren't great. The sauce was a little burnt tasting and the meatballs were quite bready if that's a word ENTREES - I ordered the veal chop special, it was O.K. Nothing to dance on the table for. The culprit was the sauce that again tasted over reduced and a little burnt. The veal chop itself was excellent VINO - has the house Cabernet that was house so par for the course. We drove by this restaurant for many years but finally decided to try it. It's a small restaurant that reminds you of family. The waiters provided excellent service. We had fresh bread to start. I ordered the shrimp appetizer and my husband ordered a salad to start both were very good. I asked them to make me chicken Sorrentina (they have veal sorrentina on the menu) and my husband had the squid ink linguine. The dishes were both very good. We had the tartufo and cappuccino for dessert both were excellent. We will definitely return. The restaurant was busy so I believe they have customers that are returning loyal customers. read more

Omg - are you looking for a delish, old style Italian restaurant? With great food? With fantastic service? This is your place. How have I not been here before? Always drove past, wanted to try, but had somehow not gone. That was a mistake. Went the other night, friends had made a reservation. Everything was good. I had the special string bean salad - so good with a very light lemon dressing. If it is on the special list and you like string beans - get this! Others in our group had pasta fagioli soup (raved), fried calamari (so tender and very very light breading), and baked clams (also raves). Dinners ranged from veal chops, pork chop, and gnocchi. Lovely little place for Sunday night family dinner. Service isn't rushed and we were fine with that. Delightful burrata to start and the boys loved their meatballs. Sauce for the gnocchi was a bit too spicy for my mother in law - I preferred the sauce served with my raviolis. Chicken Marsala and chicken Parmesan were totally on point and mouth-watering. Linguine with clams were spectacular and perfect saltiness to the broth that was slopped up by their perfect crusty bread (every meal starts with that and soft salted butter plus this fabulous herbed oil concoction). Out for dinner at Pasquale's Osteria. It has been around for a long time in Norwalk but it was our first time. The staff was excellent. We had reservations and were seated quickly. The menu is not large but plenty to choose from. There were a few specials. We ordered clams oreganata and fried calamari as appetizers. The bread crumbs on a couple of the clams were burnt taking away from the clams. The calamari was cooked nicely and the tomato sauce was good. However the calamari were a little bland and there were no tentacles and we love tentacles. For entrees I asked if I could have the martini sauce on veal rather than chicken and there was no hesitation and my wife had the fettuccine alla Pasquale which was fresh fettuccine with mushrooms, asparagus, shrimp and prosciutto in a pink sauce. The martini sauce was a little different than what I've had at other restaurants. It had tomato sauce or paste added to it. This gave it a depth of flavor that I really enjoyed. Probably the best martini sauce I've ever had. My wife really enjoyed the fettuccine as the sauce was delicious and the fresh fettuccine was perfect for the dish. Cappuccinos were good. Never disappoints. Sea bass, veal parm, chicken Scarp - all excellent. My daughter enjoyed it so much she went back after leaving our house to get another Scarp to go for the next night! Went here for dinner Saturday night. We arrived at 6pm, there were only a few tables occupied and I my initial reaction was I didn't need the reservation I made after all. However; by 6:30pm, just about every table was taken. Food was excellent. I started with the Pasta Fagioli soup, at restaurants it can come loaded, more like a chowder or more broth and lighter on the pasta and beans, this was the later. Very good. Also had the capellini primavera, which had a nice mixture of veggies. Took the leftover capellini home and enjoyed it as much the next day. The service was excellent as well. We were greeted and seated right away. Throughout our meal our waiter always seemed to be there before you thought you needed him, without that hovering feeling you can get. Water and bread came was on our table moments later. The olive oil for the bread was seasoned and thick, just shy of being a paste, fantastic! Parking is good. Came here for my going away from work after seeing the reviews on Yelp. The reviews are correct. This place is really good. We shared the calamari and burrata appetizers, which were both very good. I had a business dinner here. It was early, before most come out for dinner . We were immediately seated and waited upon. Our waiter was so very attentive it was awesome. We ordered and enjoyed appetizers and the had an entrée each. We both enjoyed. One entrée was pasta and the other seafood. Both were delicious.delicious. Tasty and authentic Italian cuisine. I had a meatball for an appetizer. Very smooth meatball. Then a veal dish, scrumptious, with a side of vegies. The one piece of potato in the vegies was my favorite moment of potato perfection! The waitperson was not able to recommend a bottle of wine, he new enough to get ?Pasquale? To come to our table. Truthism: a lot of the Italian food in Fairfield County is not real Italian. This may come as a shock to you, but it's true. Pasquale's is real. In fact, it's actually owned by Pasquale and he is the head chef in the kitchen. Linger a little later into the evening and he might come to check on you when the kitchen slows down. And the food is outrageously good. The pear and gorgonzola salad might be the best salad I've ever had, and I love the veal cutlet sicilian style. We just love this place. The restaurant is on the smaller side, so definitely call ahead for a resy on the weekends. read more

I have driven past this restaurant so many times and finally, finally had dinner here. I can easily say that I wasn't impressed at all. The food, drinks, service and ambiance were all mediocre. The serving sizes are pretty big which is nice but it's over priced for the overall experience. Nothing I ate was great. I went with a group of 5 and none of us were enticed to ever go back. It seems like a place that brings in an older crowd- I prefer a younger, fresher feel in restaurants.This place has an out dated feel. It's definitely decent but not my scene. read more

Restaurant was raved about by my coworkers in Norwalk and I have to say the food was really GOOD. I ordered the lobster ravioli and it was delicious. This place is excellent. Don't usually go to Italian restaurants, but when I do, I usually order Chicken Parm. This is one of the best I've ever had. Large portion, and truly Italian. I had driven past this restaurant many times but never went in because I thought it would might be too expensive. Tonight my girlfriend suggested that we eat there and I was totally and pleasantly surprised. Yes the food was a little pricey, however it was the best Italian food I have had in a very long time. I had the chicken martini which was crusted with Parmesan cheese and flavored with lemon and vermouth. It was absolutely exquisite. For appetizers we had the roasted beet salad and the eggplant rolotini. Again, both were winners. I ended the meal with the tiramisu. Wonderful experience all around. I was searching Norwalk for a restaurant that had linguini and clams and could accommodate 6 people that night for my 12 year old son's birthday. I was assured when I called that they could do both. Our table was ready upon arrival and the service was very attentive. Our waiter teased our son and told him they were out of clams when he ordered his dinner. It was priceless. (Obviously he was the fellow I spoke with on the phone!) Our son was in heaven with his meatball appetizer followed by a mountain of clams on his pasta. All of our meals were generous, hot, and delicious. Not sure what salad that other couple had, I always have their Gorgonzola Vinaigrette and it is wonderful. I don't understand the negatives reviews I just read, but everyone is entitled. For starters, Pasquale is Italian even if some of the wait staff is not. I think he cooks the best veal parm I have ever eaten and the tomato sauce is exceptional. The insulata mista is my favorite salad, bar none, with a wonderful dressing. Every time I'm there I try and buy some to take home. I live in Trumbull and venture to Norwalk at least once a month to dine there. read more
