Compared to other charters, this is the nicest boat.. old school with plenty of room, windows, and even a $6000 Teak sliding door! Captain B was excellent from the minute we got on the boat to when we disembarked.. a true pro with 33 years experience he said. We had beautiful weather and started out going for King Salmon with down riggers. The Deckhand Randy was also good and started out by stating he had "Saved 8 men overboard" & "I got the biggest balls in Homer". We started catching right away and Captain B would come down to net the bigger fish and mutter "Randy.. your a disaster today" I think it was all part of the act! We caught the KING limit and silver limit in no time without losing many fish at all.. maybe it was the walking stick?? Captain B then took us to a beautiful cove.. complete with a BAR to finish the day fishing for Rockfish! After about an hour we had the limit in Rocks and headed to the bar but the Captain couldn't find it? Nice ride in watching Randy filet all the fish! Great charter/ great time.. highly recommend. I own a house/Airbnb in Homer Alaska and have been out on countless fishing charters, Captains B's was undoubtedly the best. Large boat that is very comfortable and surprisingly fast. Captain B put us on fish and we all limited out on Halibut and Rock fish. We were last minute add on's to the trip when our boat canceled our trip 30 minutes before departing. Captain B luckily had 2 open seats. He and his deckhand worked non stop to make sure no lines got tangled and gave helpful tips on hooking and reeling up the fish. His one liners kept us laughing all day. I can't recommend Captain B enough for your charter trip, you won't be disappointed. I will be recommending him to all our guests wanting a successful fishing adventure. read more

Captain Bryan and Randy were amazing. Comfortable from the minute we left to hitting the slip Back. Some people actually napped. Randy really explained the equipment and the best way to use em. I've been on a lot of charters in my life. Let's start with the positives....Captain B has a winning personality. He's funny, knowledgeable & a good conversationalist. The help is nice as well. The boat is nice & equipped with what you need to catch fish. CAUTION Negatives...#1 To rent the boat for 6 people cost is $193 an hour (for 11 hours that's $2127 ). We arrived at the dock @ 6am but the boat was not fueled up. This is the first time I've seen a boat fuel up with customers on board. Normally it's done the night before. Then after a partial day fishing we arrived back 2.5 hours early. He said he would refund us. He offered us $44 a couple but we should have received a total of from $483-579 (the difference having to do with we we payed to sit at a gas pump for 30 minutes). #2 Catching your limit of halibut is cake. You can do this in about 1-2 hours. Some boats do this in as little as 15-20ft of water in the bay. We didn't need to travel 40 miles away. Then we asked to rockfish but we were told if it was impossible we would receive a credit. A $483 credit split between 6 people would have been good but $132, 6 people had to divide was a joke. #3 You are not told till once aboard that the boat complies with a local fund raiser gimmick. In the name of preserving large breeder fish that spawn millions of eggs you must pay 10$ to keep a fish of 100lbs or greater BUT... if you pay the 10$ you can keep it/kill it & you get entered into a contest to win a prize at the years end. The point is- "it's about raising money not saving the lives of large breeders". None of us payed. I might add a 100lb fish is not considered good edible quality. Overall I would say this boat is not fair. I asked at the packing house and they said they feel most of the local tourist fishing industry in Homer is a scheme. Your not allowed to keep more than two fish & you'll pay double of what other charters are getting around the country. Bottom line I wouldn't recommend this business. They told us other boats were being dishonest by keeping people out to sea to "try" & catch fish while nothing was biting yet they returned and offered us a stingy 22$ a person. You do the math. read more

Great boat, great day fishing and we limited out on Halibut in just a few hours and even caught a silver salmon. My first time in Alaska and my cousin's parents highly recommend Captain B's for halibut fishing. We arrived at boat just before 7:30 a.m. and his crew Tylor was there to welcome us. We all got on board and within seconds Captain B was there. Captain Bryan was so great. It was a long ride out but once out.....the second they said drop line.....we did....and all of us started realing in halibut. We all caught our limit and I actually caught the only silver salmon. SO MUCH FUN. they did everything. Putting bait on and filet the fish! Would highly recommend Captain B. read more

We went fishing for Halibut and Rockfish in June 2015, and it was the best fishing trip of my life. The captain was knowledgeable, helpful, and a blast to hang out with. Our deckhand Ernest was a pleasure and went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect. Fishing is all about your company and Brian is a pleasure to talk with. Our 12 year old daughter did great fishing as well. We all caught our limit and are looking forward to coming back in July. Captain Brian Bondioli is a fantastic skipper. We spent an entire day with him (Sunday June 28) fishing for halibut and rockfish. This was our first time fishing in Alaska, and we would definitely book him again when we return. Brian was very patient and helpful. He is not only extremely knowledgeable about the fish and the surrounding areas, he is more than willing to explain everything to his charter guests. His boat is comfortable and fast. He put us over the rockfish and halibut right away, and we caught our limit. We have used fishing guides and charter boats elsewhere (Chesapeake Bay, Gulf Coast of Florida, Florida Keys, Flathead River MT), and Captain B gave us the best fishing experience ever. read more
