We thought it would be fun to check this place out while on vacation. The first thing we decided to do was the go karts. The man in the ball cap was incredibly rude. He was screaming at us for no reason and making us feel very unwelcome. I understand if we were bumping into each other but giving us attitude as we're trying to get in the go karts is uncalled for. Really fun place. They have almost everything, to bumper cars, bumper boats, go karts, mini golf, an arcade, batting cages and these water war things(when it's open). It can get crowed though, but their staff tries its best to keep up and will assist. Sometimes stuff isn't always open sadly. Another downside is that's their only open till 7:00. We went here on a whim last summer (2022) and I forgot to write this. This was an excellent place to bring our 3, 7 and 9 year olds. We played mini golf and enjoyed the arcade. They should call this place Captain Mike's barely fun park. Other then the slow ass go carts, the place sort of sucks. My kids were ready to leave after about 15 minutes. The water bumper cars made everyone nauseous because the things were impossible to drive and the fumes were overpowering. The adult go carts were super slow. The mini golf course was boring and the games for tickets were all sort of a rip off. I know sometimes you need to do something different then go to the beach when in the area, but this really isn't the thing to do. Not until they update some of these run down games. read more

I really enjoy good outdoor fun! Captain Mike's keep the unique retro fun park vibe alive and well. The staff is always so kind! I love racing my friends on the go carts. The bumper cars a BLAST! Came here on our July 2014 vacation and really enjoyed ourselves. We stayed close to the border of Michigan and Indiana, and our drive to Captain Mike's was scenic and pleasant. Most memorable are the go-karts. I love that my son could ride with me (for free, no less!) and our double kart was just as fast --- maybe FASTER! --- than the single carts. Mother and son take the lead! Haha. We also enjoyed the bumper boats and the trampoline basketball. We didn't get to try the mini golf, as it was quite crowded and we didn't want to wait, but it looked like a cute, simple course good for young children. All staff members were friendly and courteous. Grandchildren of Captain Mike, I believe. We even saw the captain himself working on the ski-ball machine (I could tell because he really resembles the fun park's logo), and I think Mrs. Captain sold us our tickets. Celebrity encounters! My only real knock on the place is that they don't seem to have enough restrooms to accommodate the crowd. There is one women's and one gender neutral room, if I remember correctly. Both are located inside the arcade, and not much privacy is offered with the setup. read more

Yeah, this place is hilarious. It's exactly the sort of place that you think it is. Everything costs like $5-$6 per person. People are mentioning that it's pricey, but I would argue otherwise; the prices are cheaper than any of these activities would cost you in a more urban area. The only reason people think it's pricey is because they're taking themselves, and their kids, and their friends' kids, and that weird neighbor kid who's always hanging around, and paying for them all. Of course it's expensive when you're paying for ten people to play mini-golf! (And really, it's not...ten people would be like $60. Way cheaper than a movie.) Here's my assessment of the activities: GO-KARTS - Generally fun, in the way go-karts almost always are. They have strict NO BUMPING rules. My only complaint is that, since they don't really pay attention to your race, you sometimes can get cheated on a lap. (Example: One guy was almost a full lap behind us, and they made him return to the pit first, essentially giving him one less lap than everyone else.) BUMPER CARS - These things are ridiculous. They're not normal bumper cars, but giant, round, two-handled bumper cars. What's better is that the actual bumper car area is like a 15'x15' corral. There's almost no room to move or get up speed. ARCADE - Pointless. Nothing exciting going on. Just there to get extra change out of your kids. MINI-GOLF - A basic but decent course, good for an hour of your time. Some water jumps, a few angled and curved holes. Don't expect anything to light up or make any fancy sounds; it's a WYSIWYG sort of affair. BUMPER BOATS - Didn't get to try them, but they look fun. WATER BALLOON BATTLE - Ditto. BOUNCE HOUSE BASKETBALL - Trampolines and basketball hoops? How could that NOT be fun? My nephews loved it. BATTING CAGES - Medium (40 mph) and fast (60 mph) pitch baseball, and fast pitch softball. The batting cages look a bit shorter than the normal mound-to-batter distance, but I didn't get to try them, so I can't be sure. MINI GO-KARTS - These were out of service when we were there, but it appeared to be a rather tiny (like, 10 feet in diameter) circular track with some smaller go-karts for the little ones. Of course, this place also has nachos. One note: BRING CASH. No credit/debit cards taken. There is an ATM in the arcade. read more

There are things that I definitely liked and disliked about Captain Mike's. Nice that there is no admission just to get in, adults don't have to fork over $$ if they are there just to escort the kids. Fees are generally per ride, per person - no bulk or combo discounts. Also you need to pay individually per ride, so unless you have the day's activities strictly planned out in advance, you'll need to be prepared to repeat this sequence several times throughout your day: 1) Ask kids what they want to do next 2) Go to ticket window to buy tickets 3) Wait in line for ride 4) Finish ride then repeat steps 1) through 3) When we went the park was almost empty so this was not so bad, but I imagine that when they are busy this might be time-consuming. Too bad they don't just sell bunches of tickets and offer the rides at a number of tickets each. The park is small enough that you can do most everything in two hours or less. The bumper boats, go karts, and water balloon battle were fun. They also have an arcade where most machines spit out tickets that you can redeem for junk, though the number of games is so limited that you would have to play the same games over and over in order to accumulate enough tickets to win any sort of substantial prize. Recommended as a short afternoon diversion for the kids. Just remember to bring plenty of money. read more

This is the third season we have been bringing our soon to be six year old son to Captain Mike's...and he loves it more each year! Game room, go cart rides with dad, bumper boats and now he's the at the age he can ride the mini go karts himself...it's a good way to kill an hour. Our almost 4 yr old daughter really likes the game room. It can get a little pricey if you spend a longer amount of time there...but I suppose you can say that about anything. read more

Captain Mike's is a fun atmosphere but is small. My kids loved the go-carts and were able to ride for a long time. Go-carts are $7.00 each ride and the mini go-carts for kids 5-9 are $6.00 each ride. I felt the prices weren't terrible. read more

FUN FUN FUN FUN We went three times during our week vacation in Harbor County. You pay by the game, but there is a range of prices and the different games appealed to our entire age group 6 through 40. Family water balloon contest is a must and the basketball on the trampoline was a hit for everyone in the family. Nothing special with the mini golf, but our nephews still enjoyed playing. This was a classic Fun Park! We met one of the Captain family when we bought our tickets (he looked like the son of the man on the logo?) and he made a couple of pretty good jokes. What a nice man! One of the children who work here let us in to the basketball trampolines. Definitely as fun for adults as for kids. Luckily we were able to cool off at the water balloon fight. We called to confirm the hours on Tuesday 7/22. We arrived around 6pm after being told they closed at 7pm. Everything was closed down. We saw 3 employees while standing by confused as to why they were already closed when multiple signs said they closed at 7. Perhaps there was a good reason to close early but the fact that we were ignored with no explanation was pretty irritating. One girl actually saw me and turned and ran inside to avoid talking to me. Very bizarre. My 7 year old son was very disappointed. read more
