Freshly fried goodness for every meal! Loved their fried clams and coconut shrimp and hush puppies! All of our guests loved their meal. Pro tip: Since it can get really packed, we decided to eat an early dinner around 3 PM so we could snag a seat! Yum!

After doing a bit of research, we landed on Captain Zack's for a Friday night before the oyster fest. We found the bartenders to be sociable the crowd to be friendly and I will tell you that the softshell crabs were off the hook. Good beer, and good pours. Met some friends there they were also going to the oyster Fest and frankly everybody in the bar talked to anybody else -- it was like hanging out at your local Tappy. So good food and good drinks with a friendly atmosphere and good service.

Such a cute spot. So many delicious items on the menu but we landed on the clam chowder, coconut shrimp, fish & chips basket and the clams strips platter with corn and broccoli. Did not expect an entire head of broccoli but was cooked perfectly. Staff was super attentive. A nice drink menu to accompany the food. Everything was cooked to perfection. Would definitely return.

Outstanding! This was recommended to us and boy did she hit it out of the park! Staff is super friendly, everyone here inside and outside are having a good time, it's not too loud and it's easy going. The food was spectacular! I had the Fish (cod) & chips. They are in these perfect rectangular blocks instead of giant slabs, so they're perfect for dipping in tartar and they were lightly battered, not too crispy and not too soft either, packed full of flavor along with the fries and his puppies, also well fried. The drinks were a Marsh Mud Slide and a Mermaid Lemonade, very well made. The bartender came back and added a mermaid to my wife's glass, that was cool of her. The Chincoteague Salty Oyster platter was amazing. The onion rings again were battered well and fried not too hard or soft, the oysters were the same. No cut corners here, generous portions and well made food for a good price. Check Capt Zack's out!

We were told 1-1 1/2 hour wait on a Saturday evening but they called us soon than an hour. We were glad they did. It's a very casual ambiance and not the fanciest looking of seafood restaurants on the island but the food was delicious. Everyone in our party enjoyed what they got.

Oysters. Everything I mean everything is in 1 time use plastics.

Stopped by for a quick lunch on a Friday. It's a cool looking place and has beach vibes everywhere even though it was November. I believe they are open year round. Pretty standard beach eats with lots of fried items on the menu. Ordered a crab cake platter, soft shell crab platter, clam chowder, fish and chips and a dozen oysters. Crab cakes at this restaurant does live up to the hype. It's definitely all crab and no fillers. Soft shell crabs were too oily as it just sucks up all the oil and becomes a little too much after two bites. If you are craving soft shell crabs just order it as a sandwich. Oysters were a bit of a disappointment. We have a place in RI and get oysters all the time and the local ones in Chincoteague were no match to the ones coming out of Narragansett Bay. These were just too salty and did not have any flavor. Fish and chips were good and the clam chowder was okay. Service was good. My major problem with the restaurant is just the crazy amount of one time plastic that it uses. It's evident they don't have a dishwasher and just go with 1time disposables. The amount of plastic use is just insane. From the beer cups to cutlery all one time use. If it wasn't for this I would have given the restaurant a 4 star on reviewing for the food and service alone.

This hush puppy is so flavorful and I like the crunch more than the inside so it works!

Greeted Dylan the waiter with, "First time here. What will impress me the most?" Recommended the flounder, hush puppies, sweet potato fries so that's what we went with. Hubster added the fried clams. The fried clam appetizer can easily feed 4-5 people....especially when you're planning to order more stuff. Great flavor! The flounder combo came with 2 large pieces of fish, 4 hush puppies, and two sides: broccoli salad and sweet potatoe fries. IT WAS AWESOME! The dish was beautifully fried which meant there was no residual oil anywhere. The hush puppies ratio of crunchy on the outside to filling on the inside was equally balanced and full of flavor and could stand alone. A lot of people go to restaurants for the main dish...I pay attention to the sides. If they put a lot of effort in the sides, you know the main attraction will be something special!

The baysider.... The photo speaks for itself. Perfect way to get your summer craving of seafood in! Great atmosphere and the onion rings were perfectly crunchy. Staff was friendly. Highly recommend and extremely reasonable prices!!!

The Service hostess & waitress very pleasant, very professional. The reason for 3 star review the establishment presents itself with prime age ribeye unfortunately not the case. Definitely not aged I ordered it medium rare received medium well lack of flavor tasted more like store bought the green beans overcooked very soft not very good. The Jumbo Lobster tail stuffed with crab meat on menu Market Price was salty. Also overpriced at $130 for the Dish. Appetizers & Desert were fine. Experience it, Nice but avoid the steaks not aged. There is a small lot behind the restaurant. It was easy and there was plenty of parking since it was the off season. I did not have a reservation but, I was seated as a party of one pretty quick. The tables were draped with white table cloths, a nice table side light, sweeteners, tall clear glasses with a black napkin and tall salt and pepper shakers. The walls were a darker and lighter gray, hues of black and whites scattered throughout. I was in love with the old photos and the black and white prints throughout. There was a stunning glass sculpture hanging from the center of the dining room. It maybe a Chihuly glass chandelier. If it is not it resembles it. Hues of amber, orange and whites. My waitress came over within a few minutes and took my drink order. She informed me of the specials and brought over some bread, butter and herbed oil. I just had to try the cream of crab. On the menu it states it's a tight lipped recipe. The cream of crab was delicious. They have done their own spin on it. It came out piping hot. It had a slight kick to it, as if there was some sort of pepper in it... jalapeño? Could just be regular ground pepper. Overall, it was pretty good. My meal came with a choice of salad. It was either a garden salad, Caesar salad or tropical salad. I ordered the garden salad with ranch dressing. The salad was ok. Nothing to rave about. It had shoestring carrots, two cherry tomatoes and 2-3 types of lettuce. It did the job. I had the waitress choose my main dish for me. I could not decide. It was between the stuffed shrimp (stuffed with crab imperial), or the crab cakes. I opted for the vegetable of the day which was green beans. My waitress surprised me with stuffed shrimp, broiled. I'm so glad she went with the broiled vs fried option. She said it was the best way to go. The crab imperial was creamy and flavorful. The shrimp were a little on the smaller side. I personally did noThe green beans were nicely seasoned. For dessert I had the waitress choose agin. A choice between their strawberry shortcake which was a special, white chocolate coconut cream pie, or the vanilla crème brûlée. She chose well, the coconut cream pie. It was so good! I saw other tables around me being delivered their food and everything looked really good. This place is definitely a popular eatery. They will remain on the list to come back.
