The proprietor could not be nicer. And the flavors are amazing! The coffee oreo is a must try. There are boozy options as well. Scoops, pints and quarts are all available. There is a restroom and some tables inside and chairs outside to eat if you want. read more

Delicious ice cream and shakes! A large selection of flavors for any palette. I had a waffle cup filled with a scoop of chocolate peanut butter and a scoop of banana. You could tell there was real banana mixed in, it was so good! Hubs tried the Shipwreck, which was a housemade vanilla with cookies and marshmallow. You can tell they put a lot of effort into creating the flavors. The owner was super friendly and refused my tip since his staff was off for the day. 5 stars for that leadership! The eat in area was packed; I'm glad this local shop is no secret! Easy access to 75. Definitely worth stopping on your way to or from Gasparilla. read more

This local friendly clean ice cream shop welcomed us with smiles. They had a huge assortment of ice creams to choose from and freshly made waffle bowls. The shop smelled amazing when you walked in. There are several tables to sit and enjoy. There is a local pizza shop across the plaza, so order your pizza and walk over to the Captains Creamery for a treat while you wait!! For 4 small and medium cups with various flavors we paid about $20. read more

Third time visiting this establishment. Gets better every time . Tonight I not only received delicious ice cream but it was served with a huge side of exceptional customer service! Ashlyn was friendly, outgoing, polite, accommodating (friends had questions via speakerphone) & knowledgable. Very impressive young lady. Highflying recommend stopping in to see for yourself. very yum! got there seconds before a crowed. the girls working behind the counter were very sweet. place was clean, had enough room for my party of 7 to enjoy our late night snack :-) I had peanut butter ice cream in a cup/cone with peanut butter sauce, a little fudge &peanuts ... The staff always greets you with a smile. When you walk in you smell the waffle cones been made and it smells like heaven! They have a punch card reward program that rewards you after 10 visits. Best ice cream in Port Charlotte hands down! My husband loves the cookies and cream milkshake and I love the two scoop sundae. They even have pup cups that our dogs enjoy! Thank you for always giving us great ice cream and service! read more

If you were looking for a sign to come here and get some ice cream....this is it. They have HOMEMADE Ice cream! It's not your typical homemade ice cream either, it's literally THE BOMB! this place is amazing. i started going here shortly after they opened a little over a year ago. they carried me through my third trimester of my pregnancy with their frozen lemonades! after having my son they even congratulated myself and my fiancé on having our first kid. the staff there is super personable, the ice cream is amazing and made in the shop, and the atmosphere in general is very happy and welcoming. the owner is also super nice and just a pleasure to speak to when he's working. i totally recommend the frozen lemonade tho, i always add strawberry into it and it makes it taste just that much better. the ice cream and milkshakes in general are also very tasty. i will continue to come back to this location for as long as i live in the Port Charlotte area read more

Visited today, their grand opening, with three grandkids, ages 14, 13 and 11. Kids rated it 10+! Homemade Waffle cones tantalize your sense of smell and the variety of flavors of ice cream guarantees you'll find something you must have. The kids couldn't decide on just one flavor so they stacked their cones with their two favorites. They have assured me we will become the shops best customers until they have to fly home in two weeks! Staff is welcoming and delightful! Support our new local small business! Best ice cream I've ever had. Got to try The Hangry Captain. Also they allow dogs and have pup cups. My dogs a bit on the fussy side, but he always devours his ice cream when we go. Owner and staff are always super nice and accommodating, even when there is a line out the door. If you are in the mood for some ice cream dont waste your time going any place else. read more

I come from up north where hand dipped ice cream is less desired, But I always preferred it. When I stopped in, the smell of the freshly baked waffle cones mesmerized me and I couldn't resist. So far, I've had the maple walnut, rum raisin and my hands down favorite, Shipwreck. They could use a little more decor but that doesn't really make the ice cream taste any different, right?
