Near my parents place, this is an awesome coffee shop with great style, customer service, and vibes. As you enter, there's a few tables for sitting and sipping or you can head to the couches and lounge chairs to relax and unwind with some board games or view the unique artwork/memorabilia on the walls. They have some specialty coffee drinks and tea flavors along with the classic coffee concoctions such as cappuccinos and americanos. As for teas, you can get those hot or iced. They have quite the selection of flavors such as hibiscus or honeydew. And if you're hungry, plenty of pastries to choose from along with breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Ice cream is also served here and it's Blue Bell! As someone who lives in Texas where Blue Bell is a blue blood, my heart skipped a beat seeing they serve it here. The baristas behind the counter are energetic with engaging personalities. One of them mentioned she's a coin collector and talked about the history of the penny which is being discontinued. My girlfriend and I found her facts and analytical dialogue fascinating as we heard her talk about it while we sipped our drinks. Yes, we were entertained! Definitely a must visit when you're in Punta Gorda; so glad it's within walking distance of mom and dad's! read more

Mudslide Coffee is my go to spot when I'm in Punta Gorda for work. The place is so cute and the owner is good about having locals offer their products there. For those who just want to chill or play games, it's a nice lowkey spot. I normally get lattes and a croissant. The other pastries look great but I haven't had a chance to try the selection yet. The staff is always friendly and I like the vibe in there. Plenty of parking since it's located in a shopping strip with a parking lot. As far as the location itself, it's easy to get to but sort of tucked away near the highway. read more

This super cute coffee shop is tucked away in a corner, but once you find it--you'll be glad you did. The vibes are super chill and welcoming. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with smiles. The staff was incredibly friendly, patient, and helpful, even encouraging us to take our time while deciding. The coffee itself? Perfectly made. You can tell they know their craft. We also couldn't resist the baked goods on display--everything looked (and tasted) delicious. What makes this place even more special is the little store inside that showcases goods from local makers--things like handmade aprons, spiritual items, dog treats, and more. It adds such a personal, community feel. For a smaller shop, there's a good amount of seating, and it never felt crowded or chaotic. Just peaceful and cozy. If I could give this one a 6-star, I would. What an amazing little local coffeehouse with some flavor inside, and amazing employees/owners! I needed a coffee and searched for a local shop to invest in rather than the chains. This popped up close to me and I gave it a whirl. I'm sure glad I did. When I walked in, everyone working greeted me and immediately struck up a short and entertaining conversation. I asked them to make me something they'd make for themselves, with vanilla in a hot mocha. Best sweet coffee drink I've had in a long time!! They were great at making exactly what I was thinking and topped it off with a foam design. Loved it! Just passing by the area on my way up the coast and so glad maps showed this spot! Located in a corner inside a small plaza, Mudslide Coffee is actually spacious on the inside and my latte was delicious. They have both coffee and teas as well as milk alternatives for those who don't get along with lactose too well. Aside from drinks they also have pastries if you want to have a small bite on the side. I can't leave this review without applauding the service as I felt like I was a local with how nice they were. I would pass by here again and for those that live in the area and haven't been, I def recommend especially on a weekend morning! read more

It has a nice cafe smell and a well decorated interior, the employees are nice, and the food looks stunning (those croissants are huge), but after all the shock and awe, it's average at best. Our croissants were supposed to be warmed, but they were only heated to the surface, and while they looked stunning, the taste was quite the opposite; dry, no flaky buttery layers like a croissant should have, it was more just like bread, and the outside was shiny and almost sticky, but there was no glaze or anything on top, I hate to say it but it wasn't even as good as a grocery store croissant, lastly - the chocolate croissant barely had any filling! Onto the passionfruit mousse, following in line, it was surprisingly squishy around the outside, which I enjoyed, but the inside was like a want - to be - cheesecake, it was creamy but had no flavor and barely any sweetness, only 2 bitter passionfruit puree cubes in the middle, and then there was this dry brown cake on the inside too! Just no, and the croissant/mousse for $6 each, yeah not going back for those. read more

Waited about 25-30 minutes for a coffee and two sandwiches to be heated up. I leave and didn't sip the coffee (I guess my fault?) but it's completely wrong... First time going the other day was great.. but the second time fell short, I don't believe in giving 1 stars for businesses unless they truly drop the ball and they didn't, they might just need a little more help when the line is out the door and people are waiting endlessly for their purchases. I'll give it another go and update my review based on that. read more

Such a cute little cafe! The coffee is so good here! It has a strong enough coffee flavor and perfect amount of caramel (we got a caramel latte). The workers were so nice and happy to assist with any questions and recommendations at the cafe. There were a couple of parties at the cafe doing homework or playing board games. This little coffee shop is exactly what the town needed! Andrew is friendly and make a great cup of coffee plus the pastries are delicious as well. Cute inside to sit and catch up with friends, games to keep the kids busy, and local shops have tables inside to purchase their business items like plants, soaps, breads, perfume, etc. My girlfriend and I sat here for 2 hours just chatting and the gentlemen behind the counter were attentive, welcoming, and didn't rush us at all. Thoroughly pleased with my experience at Mudslide. The place has a nice ambience with good music and decorations, as well as lots of options for food, ice cream and coffee. I ordered a vanilla latte, cookie, and turkey sandwich and all of it was fantastic, particularly the latte which was one of the best I've had in a while. So I almost never give five stars and I don't use the term hidden gem.....until now. I'm picky about my coffee, someone might get it right once but usually not twice. Andy, the owner of this gem, makes the perfect cup of coffee every time. My granddaughter has ordered a different flavor milkshake/malt four times this week. I know, I think we have a problem :) In her words "This milkshake is the bomb!" They have various baked goods, donuts, cookies, cakes etc. that look delicious and everything is reasonably priced. I was looking forward to trying a cronut, unfortunately he didn't have any today, maybe next time. The owner is personable and has been there actually working every time we've been there. They have comfortable areas to sit if you want to stay and enjoy order. They even have a table with a large puzzle if you want to join in putting it together. If you are in the area definitely give them a try, you won't be disappointed by this locally owned business. read more
