The husband also enjoying his pancakes that came with figs, maple and walnuts - yum! Prices are on the pricier side of cafe fare, but if it's good quality, I think it's justifiable. I got the smashed avocado with harissa which was a very generous amount of the avo, slightly disproportionate to the amount of toast, though it allowed me to share some with my friend who didn't receive her avocado on the side. Flavour profile slightly off, needs a bit of acidity to balance the avo mix. The mushroom dish with the runny eggy hole brioche looked lovely, as did the homemade baked beans. The special of the day Nutella hot cake with cookie dough and ice cream (my teeth ached from reading the menu!) was shared between 5 of us - which ended up being the right amount. Food wise, if it's huge portions you're craving then your hunger will be satisfied here. From giant slabs of toast to overloaded bagels and burgers, they don't skimp. Unfortunately they are also pretty heavy handed on the salad dressing, and they put a side salad alongside every dish whether you order it or not (even simple toast orders). Their beef burgundy pies are the best I've ever tasted and the different lamb varieties should be award winning they are just that delicious. The thing I love is that everything is made on site on the day, so you can't always be sure your favourite will be available when you go there. It's so not a bad thing here though because it just frees you up to find something just as scrumptious and loveable. The made to order rolls and sandwiches are delish as well, even my daughter who is addicted to hot chips loves coming with me to order her own special sandwich.
