We went to Captain Steve's for crabbing gear. We got chicken necks, crab line, and a net for about $30. We walked in and told them what we needed and we were done in less than 5 minutes. If your in the area and need fishing or crabbing supplies/gear this is a good store to go to. They also had other items inside like souvenirs, hats, and clothing. The customer service was ok, but certainly nothing special. Lots of people recommended this place for what we needed. All in all we got what we came for!! read more

I wasn't super impressed with this place but we did get what we needed. The set up of the store is strange and you always feel like you're in someone's way as you're waiting to be assisted. No one approached us so I had to seek someone out and halfway through asking for help he told someone else to take care of us. We went in to rent some rods and needed some fishing licenses. We rented 3 rods and got some bait and some other little things we needed. I have a different guy our licenses and my debit card for him to start on the licenses while another guy rang me up for the rentals. It was about $100 for 3 rod rentals for the day and then $30 for the license. The guy who was doing the licenses disappeared. I waited over 15 minutes and he never returned and he had my debit card. I went to the front and had to get the attention of a kid after a few minutes who informed me my licenses were up there but then didn't get them. Minutes later he asked if I was ready which of course I replied I was. He returned our driving licenses, my debit card and fishing licenses. He then tried to charge me again for everything I already paid separately for. I did eventually leave with everything we needed for fishing for the day so the kids were happy. We returned the rods later that evening without an issue. They inside is their prices are better than the marina priced when I called to inquire about rentals there and a clam rake also the guy did tell us where we could fish. read more

If you're a novice, don't waste your time researching what you'll need to surf fish...their staff knows everything you'll need to know and they have everything you'll need to use. I needed to rent a rod for 3 days and they gave me a 10% discount from the daily rate. The staff was very helpful and the location is perfect! read more

Family run place. They are on the road out towards the National Seashore. Been in operation for 40-50 years. They have everything you need for fishing in salt of freshwater. Licenses, clothing, you name it. I always stop and get my bait there before going out on the beach. But what you really go there for is to find out what's biting and how to catch 'em. Capt. Steve and his kids will get you pointed in the right direction so you don't get skunked! read more

I was looking for seam sealant and they had it! However, I didn't dare buy it as it had a package so faded (even though it was positioned far from windows and sun) that I figured the glue was probably bad. They do have a lot of stuff in there, so bonus for selection. Awkwardly, the place is vastly flea infested. I like dog friendly establishments; it's nice they have a severely overweight miniature pinscher in the shop. I was wearing slip on type shoes with no socks and fleas were jumping all over my legs for a good portion of the time I was in the shop. I'm glad I don't have my dogs with me on this vacation. Soooo, if you need a wide selection of old merchandise and some free flea vermin to go with it, this place is your shop! Oh, it was hot and stuffy in there too. Also the hours their facebook page are wrong at the moment, they do post updates, so we thought it would be up to date, leading to it taking two trips to get fleas and NOT get seam sealant. read more

We went into this store multiple times. They were able to tell us everything we needed to know to go crabbing off the dock with our kids. They had a great special to get everything you needed as well. We had looked at other stores, but most had the lines and bait, but the people there couldn't answer our questions on what we needed to do.
