Note I did check out a few other "surf" shops in OCMD that were quite frankly a hot mess and junky. The outside and inside was very pristine and well kept. I love all the brands Oakley, Costa, Rip Curl, etc. The staff was pretty nice. I did buy a Ron Jon pop socket for my phone. Probably overpaid for a Ron Jon logo one but alas I'm from the West Coast and I thought it was cool. When I got back home I found a cute Ron Jon sticker they put in my bag. My take on what they sell here...Hard No. If you're into pastels, bold colors, more cut off shirts then Larry the Cable Guy owns, loud prints and logoed corporate merch then I guess you might be good here. But, if you're an anti-consumer like myself, you'll last about three minutes before your eyes will roll back in your head like a shark chomping down on a harbor seal waiting for the deliverance of leaving. The staff we encountered was very nice and they answered a question or two my wife asked regarding the few trinkets she wanted. It's the kind of place I wouldn't bother patronizing as I loathe touristy junk. But, the spouse said "Let's go in!" Ugh, fine. BRIEF HISTORY: Founded in 1983 in Ocean City, Maryland, Sunsations now operates stores in five other states (Delaware, Virginia, New Jersey, North Carolina and Florida). EXPERIENCE: Yup, the store was everything I expected. Junk everywhere. Touristy magnets, sharks in bottles (what the...), shot glasses, even live hermit crabs for sale. On the positive, if you're looking for affordable wears or anything beach gear, you've stuck gold! I'm not one to buy tacky t-shirts with city names emblazoned on them (sans for Hard Rock t's) but I actually found a tastefully-designed t-shirt (label is Sunsations) with "Ocean City" on it for just $12.99! Although there are always several salesladies working there at a time, I have never found them very helpful & always have to keep coming out of my dressing room to exchange sizes, or whatever myself. I've also noticed for a few years (& pointed out to the salesladies) that there are inches of dust on top of the wood beam framing in the dressing rooms, which is disturbing. Another issue is that the store is usually pretty busy, however, there is only 1 register for check out. I always have to wait quite a while to pay, which could be avoided if just another register was added. There is plenty of space for another register as that counter area is a good size. I have also mentioned this to the salesladies, but they usually give me an annoyed look back. I do really like this store, but really wish these issues could be rectified...

They sell color changing nail polish, shirts, dresses, frisbees, skateboards, hats, eyeglasses, small soccer balls, footballs, beach bags, keychains. I'm sure I'm missing other things. Knowledgeable and helpful staff. I bought my family some color changing shirts, a baseball hat, a nail polish. The kids love taking the shirts and placing it under the UV light and seeing the color changes on the shirts. The staff didn't mind the kids being hands on with the items which I appreciate. The shirts range for kids $12 to adults $25. They are not as cheap, but not that expensive either. Considering that they change colors from a white background to a bright colorful background as soon as the sun hits. It's better to see the action in person. Eric showed me another brand they sell, "Carlihola". It's a brand I never heard of before. Underwear, socks and bedsheets made form Bamboo. Hypoallergenic, thermal regulating, environmentally sustainable. With a lifetime guarantee. I bought some items of this brand to try it out. Overall it's a good spot to drop in and check out. I've never seen a store like this back at home. So I wanted to get some unique things for the kids (and myself) to bring back home.
