DO NOT GO! This used to be my regular go to. I was here 2 weeks ago I had a tune-up that was botched somewhere else. I waited past my appointment time for my car to be checked. I was told it had to be Jerry rigged but would be fine till a harness was put in. I asked for a quote for the work because it needed done. The man managing it now said he would have to get back to me and call me later. I heard nothing and called the first of the next week having to leave a message much like the first time I called for an appointment because no one seems to answer the phones any more. I asked for the quote for the harness my car needs to run better. NEVER CALLED BACK! Well tonight I'm lucky I made it home because one of the coils broke tonight because the harness that is supposed to strap it in have way too. I don't under why there are no longer any mechanics that are interested in doing their jobs or even respectful enough to stand by their word of getting you a quote and appointment. This place is going down hill and currently has poor management. They are going to lose business and reputation with the lack of service. Now I have to fix something that was already working in addition to the harness! So I don't appreciate this and will not be giving my money to them anymore and don't recommend you do either! read more

I am telling everyone about Car Doc in Murrells Inlet. Scott has gone above and beyond in helping me. I took my car to get brakes. I left it there and told him to take his time in fixing it. He originally quoted me for front and back brakes and back rotors at an extremely decent price. I told him to go ahead and proceed. The day after I dropped it off, he contacted me and told me that after he took off the tires and checked out my brakes that all I needed were back brakes and rotors. The price was halved. Since I didn't have a car, he brought my car back to me and I dropped him off (just across the road). He was excellent at responding and is still helping me in that he is going to scan through my receipt to him (I paid by check and I believe misplaced the receipt). Car Doc is absolutely awesome.. I came to garden city from Pennsylvania 8.5hr drive and the last hr my brake caliper decided to stop working. I called scott with car dr and they replaced it and got me back in action in less then a day and a price that was fair. I recommend them to anyone! Great people and great price! read more

If I am ever in need of a car repair and am within 100 miles of the Car Doc, I will pay to have it towed here. We had an overheating auto while on vacation at Surfside Beach and a scheduled departure the following day. I limped into the Car Doc's place with a temperature gauge that was about to fly off the dashboard, a wife and 2 year old in the car. They were the nicest folks imaginable and immediately set to taking a look at my car issues. They not only diagnosed and repaired my faulty thermostat in record time, they did it for parts and 1 & 1/2 hours of labor. And this was on a not-easy-to-work-on Cadillac DTS engine. Just getting to the engine requires a half hour as does reassembling everything. They took me and my family down the road to where we were staying, and came back to pick us up when the repair was done. Honestly I don't think a dealership's "concierge service" could possibly have been any better. We pulled into the Car Doc completely stressed out with a car that was massively overheating and short timeline to get anything done, and walked out a couple of hours later with the peace of mind that the car was fixed. I've dealt with some mechanics that would have done the same thing, but too many that wouldn't have. The cost was absolutely minimal, and we drove home would perfectly functioning cooling system in some serious heat. Thanks to the good folks at the Car Doc for your much-needed help in a tight situation. I cannot thank you enough! I have NO idea what business the first reviewer on Yelp was dealing with, but I am fairly certain that it was NOT this Car Doc. read more

TERRIBLE! my daughter recently moved to SC..i sent her money to have her truck fixed and its NOT FIXED bit it is rigged and she was charged over 300 bucks to have her old thermostat taken out and a hole punched through it and put back in and her water pump taken out but old one put back on cuz new one this place ordered never got delivered from vendor!! So my daughter was charged for what? To have old parts not replaced..her old thermostat rigged and put back in..now her truck doesnt overheat but her air and heat doesnt work!!! What kind of place is this? SERIOUSLY!! Small claims to recoop money at this point! Not happy!! read more

Best ever. Highly recommend. Traded my son my BMW for his Nissan Murano. Couldn't afford BMW repairs. Anyway, Scott checked it. Had to replace #5 cylinder. I should have replaced all of them, but couldn't afford it. Did the work for me, very reasonable. I'm turning 70 this year, and he even drove me home and offered to come pick me up when car was ready. He also added 2qts. oil. Scott and Janice were so nice, I will never go anywhere else. Such a good feeling to have a mechanic I can trust. My son is going to help pay for rest of work that needs done. Car Doc has worked on my car multiple times and I always had a good experience. It's nice to have a mechanic that I can trust.

I brought my car to Car Doc after being recommended to go there by a friend and after being informed by owner Scott that he was able to work on foreign cars. They were able to barely fix the problem I have, charge me ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS, and have the nerve to give it back me making all sorts of weird noises it had never made before. I brought my foreign vehicle back to ask why it was making the noises, and they handed my boyfriend a screw driver and told him to fix it himself. I had no idea what to do so I had my brother look at my car who works on boat engines and we found fresh zip ties holding my engine together, tons of missing and bearly hanging on bolts and screws. All my oil had leaked out by this time. Long story short, Car Doc sabotaged my car so I would have to go back to them and they could steal more of my money. They are awful bussiness people, and I can truthfully say this because I own a bussiness and I would never sabotage a customer or go about any bussiness in the disorganized and dishonest way they did. Do not go there unless you want your car destroyed. Not to mention the fact I now know they aren't even certified to work on foreign cars. read more
