Brock at Carbon River Door did a great job each time he came out and serviced our shop door. He came and installed an opener for it last summer and then this year we had the rollers replaced because they were so old and did not have the ball bearings to handle the weight. Messaged through yelp and got a response within a few hours along with a few others. I noticed their name from the NextDoor neighborhood websites too and people seem to like them. I had a broken spring on my garage door and needed it fixed. The technician said that she had someone available later that day to come out and I agreed. Time window was 3-5pm and called 20 min prior to let me know he was on his way. Took about 45 min and paid with a check. Their prices were the best too among the other estimates. We've needed to replace the garage door opener for some time do to reliability issues. I had planned DIY install before major medical issues. I was concerned that their location wouldn't service my area, but no problem! We called them up, and Brock arrived. He was friendly and knowledgable. He identified the problem, and told me that realistically, my system was so old (15+ years), the parts aren't readily available. I agreed it was time for a new system. He got that up and running within an hour. Sure, I wasn't expecting to purchase a new system that day, but considering the upgrades, and knowing its life was near its end, it was worth it. When our garage door stopped working I called a few different companies and CRD was the only one that would come out and do a free estimate, everyone else was going to charge between $40 and $80 to come out. Brock did some quick adjustments to the set up of my door and then walked me through some parts he suggested we replace. He said we could get by on what he had already done but these replacements would help our old door last a lot longer. He was quick and professional and even threw in some safety cables on our springs free of charge. On top of everything else he went a few blocks over to my mother in law's house she had just bought and reprogrammed her opener and gave her a remote (because the previous owner didn't give her any remotes for the door) all free of charge as well. I got five or six estimates for a new garage door this summer! I decided on this company and am really glad I did. The estimate guy Brock was very helpful and told me I don't need a new opener but gave us pricing for it in case we decided to replace everything. We ended up getting a fancy new opener and a double insulated steel door with faux wood look that I love love love!!!! James not only replaced the broken spring but for just the cost of the additional spring (no additional labor) also replaced the spring on the other door which was likely to go soon. Our garage door stopped working, and we needed someone to come out.   My wife contacted several companies and with the exception of the one who we ended up choosing, none of them were willing to quote us a price, up front, for the repair.  We both found that to be rather odd.  We chose the company who was willing to quote us a price for replacement of our 30-year-old garage door opener. Upon examining the motor and assessing the problem with the door, I was told by "Brock", the young man who came out that in fact we did not need even need a new garage door motor!  The repair could be made with a few small and inexpensive parts, and a little of his time and mechanical expertise to install them.  I am no mechanical genius, so I tend to completely rely upon the expertise and advice of whoever comes out to make a repair of any kind.  Brock could have easily proceeded to replace the garage door motor unit, and a lot of other unnecessary parts, etc., and I would have been none the wiser...in other words, I could have been an easy mark.  Brock's HONESTY was incredibly impressive, and so was his personality and expertise.  While Brock worked, we had a great conversation...he was unusually bright and interesting, and had a great sense humor.  Brock saved me several hundred dollars, and left me with a smile on my face...what more can you ask for? This company is fabulous!! We needed everything replaced, three out of four new panels, a new opener, springs, rollers, everything. The installed everything and were were set. Fast forward 5 years, one of our springs broke. We called them and they offer a lifetime warranty on the springs!! We only had to pay a labor charge. Our garage door broke while closing, so it was just kind of hanging there at a weird angle. I called Carbon River Doors late on a Friday night and they were out early the next day-on a holiday weekend! The technician who came out was very knowledgeable and helpful, he explained why our door broke and not only fixed the door but also fixed the track that was messed up so that it wouldn't break again. When my automatic garage door opener needed help, I came to Yelp! to do a little research. One of the coupons I had was for a company that did not have good reviews - forget that. The next coupon was for Carbon River Doors and they sounded like a great company, so I called them. The co-owner/wife answered the phone promptly, efficiently scheduled me for next-day service, told me the name of the tech that would be coming to my home, and maintained an upbeat, cheerful demeanor during the whole conversation. She said I would have a no-cost, no-obligation inspection and could choose whether or not to have any needed service after the tech gave his recommendation. Wow, really? After the reviews I read about other garage door companies, I would have to see about that... The next day, Brock, called first and then arrived within the set 2-hour appointment time. He was clean, respectful, and a very friendly chap. After explaining the issues we were having, he immediately made a diagnosis based on his experience, but went right to work to make sure he was correct. After determining that he was right, he told me the repairs would be covered by their tune-up. I had a coupon, but didn't even have to show it to him, as he just automatically gave me their best price. I'm pretty sure that some of the work he did was in addition to what a normal tune-up would be, but that's all he charged me for and in no time, I had my garage door working better than it ever had. He even made some suggestions regarding other service I might need down the road, what to look for, and about how much it might cost.
