I guess this place has the right name. It isn't just linens. In fact, I don't remember seeing any…read morelinen. I did see, however, lots of fabric for draperies, reupholstering furniture, making pillows, or decorating walls. Most surprising for me was how large this place is. It's like a warehouse of fabric bolts. Some of the fabric was designer for those for whom that's important, but I really had to look. There were no big signs screaming "designer fabric here" except on the stuff that wasn't on the bolts. I couldn't determine any methodology to the sorting or colors --patterned and solid fabrics shared the same stands. The inventory changes frequently from what I understand, so when you buy something, and it isn't a re-orderable design, get extra. The store also stocks pillow forms, foam, sheers, and some outdoor fabrics, as well as various styles of trims. Maybe because this has the look of a warehouse or maybe because of the seasonal timing of the manufacture of the material, but the colors appeared mostly dark or muted. On the other hand, because it is drapery or upholstery fabric, I guess most people aren't interested, understandably, in fluorescent colors or bright distracting patterns. Except for some sheers and outdoor fabric, all the fabric was marked at roughly nine dollars a yard. That's not a bad price when compared with mainstream stores selling the same thing. For a DIY project or changing the look of furniture frequently, Not Just Linens is just the store to help.

The man in charge of embroidery came out, I explained what I wanted, and he began to place tape on the gown where the name was going to go. He then said it would cost $20 per gown. I asked him to explain to me why it would cost so much so I could justify paying $100. Then he folded up my gowns and then said he would not do it if I thought it was too much. So, after trying to get it justified but getting nowhere (I would have paid the price if it was a standard reason like $2 a letter), I took the clothes and walked out. When I was sitting in my car finding another shop, the man came running up to my car, asked if he could have the tape back from the clothes. I said sure and grabbed the clothes. THIS MAN THEN WENT OVER TO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF MY CAR AND TRIED TO OPEN MY DOOR! Thank goodness I saw him cross in front of my hood and locked my doors! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! DO NOT COME HERE!

Suddenly- wizard of oz comes from behind curtain demanding to have "her" artist return to the lair. This demand was authoritative, demanding and inappropriate given that I was talking with the artist. I advised the manager of such and received a directive to leave her store and take my business elsewhere. Having already paid for my ( Republican) shirts- the air deteriorated rapidly. I needed my money back ... but manager called police saying I was trespassing and she didn't want my business. ( finances uncertain and threatening cops I left her know she was certainly behaving like an itch ( for no reason for a customer simply talking to her staff - about my product order -and design needs - iron about boundaries (omg) . I left went to Trophy House making same order- without issue and after calling bank to assure account not charged. stunned . Yet not surprised as my shirt was for military dependents/family who had experienced foreign /domestic borders from the deployments of their service members... with appreciation for our service members going to these borders for our country. Too much for a business trying to earn a living from the military. My dad - an original airborne parachute trooper - 509th airborne ( verifiable) was applauded by the power and control tantrum of this manager . If she is the owner she should close her business. I've used CCE for heat press and embroidery work 4-5 times over the last 5'ish years. They have…read morealways provided a good product and great service. The first thing I ever used them for was to do a heat press on a hoodie. The hoodie hoodie has been washed and dried hundreds of times and only started to give way in the last couple of months. (Who's ever had heat press last four years?!) I had them embroider a hat/sun visor about 3 years ago. Told them what I wanted and they created it, embroidered, and it looked great! Don't wear the hat often but still looks great too! Most recently had someone hand- draw a sports team logo. Used Fiverr.com to have someone make the drawing into an embroidery format ($10). Sent the file to CCE via email, took 6 jackets to their store, and they embroidered them all in just a few days. All team members are thrilled with how they turned out! A week later needed 2 more jackets. They had them done in less than 24 hours! I can't say I've compared their pricing to anyone else because I'm glad to stay loyal to a business that does a good job. But every time I've used them their prices seem very reasonable to me.

I found Loving Stitches on Yelp, called to ensure they were open (it was the week between Christmas and New Years), and off we went! From jump, my favorite space in the store was the clearance room. I found SO MANY good deals in there! I was not expecting to load up, but with deals that great, it was easy to do. They also had some post holiday sales going on, so I was sure to visit the back room to take advantage of those. It appears the back room is used to offer classes if that is your thing. They have fun notions and little gifts (tumblers, sewing related items) for purchase and appear to be a Bernina dealer (great machines). Being that I am primarily a modern quilter, the selection of newer/up-and-coming/modern designers appeared somewhat limited, but I was happy to find Kaffe and Tula in their own adjacent spaces toward the middle/back right of the floor. Perhaps the others were sprinkled in around the beautifully color coordinated perimeter walls, but I did not venture must past the Tula, Kaffe, and clearance if I am honest. At first glance, it appears that this is a gold mine of coordinating fabrics and you could find just the right shade of blenders if needed from their selection. Overall, a 4.5 for me, but rounded up due to the exceptional service from a sweet younger person with shorter dark hair - her name is slipping my mind. She and I had some great conversations about quilting and she was super helpful! I will return when visiting again from out of state.
