Cardinal coffee and cakes has been on my list for a while now as I love trying out new cafes and bakeshops. This place is ADORABLE. It has so much charm to it. The people are incredibly friendly, not only the workers but everyone who was there which shows the audience this cafe attracts. It was awesome to see the wide arrangement of drink options from hot to cold to energy infused drinks with Red Bull. They also had a TON of house baked goods. Scones, muffins, cinnamon rolls, strudels and more. They even have lots of various breads to choose from and cakes! They have inside and outside seating which is charming and simple. The food is great and the drinks are high quality and refreshing. The cinnamon rolls warmed up in the microwave were probably some of the best I've ever eaten.The cream cheese frosting is to die for as well as the strawberry rhubarb filling (I need a jar of it). Muffins are SO MOIST and great texture/flavors. I also really liked that by the cash register they had some pre wrapped baked goods that were slightly discounted meaning they were probably leftovers from the previous day or what not so I like that they do not waste! This is one of our favorite spots to grab coffee and a treat. Cardinal Cakes has a wide variety of drink options to choose from, including a seasonal menu. My favorite drink is the maple cinnamon roll latte - a very unique flavor! The pastries can be difficult to choose from because everything looks good! Typically I stick with one of their scones. Lately I have been getting one for now and another for the next morning! They keep very well overnight and still taste fresh the next day. The ambiance is inviting and relaxing. Their breakfast sandwiches are very good! The only problem is they stop serving them around 11:00 or 12:00 depending on whether it's a weekday or a weekend. The last couple of times I stopped in, I left disappointed because I missed the cutoff for the sandwiches. First time and last time customer. The breakfast sandwich was okay, comparable to a regular Dunkin Donuts sandwich. The coffee was so bad I thought maybe I was being pranked. It tasted like a cup of cold dish water. But after observing the sour attitudes of all of the employees, I decided to pick my battles and just leave the coffee behind on the counter when I left. A lot of old, entitled customers hanging around. One old man walked around slamming his coffee cup around the counters as if his refill was going to fall from the sky. I absolutely LOVE the vibe! Each person who has greeted me has been warm and welcoming. I highly recommend the dirty chai with oat milk! (Get the largest size). We just had our 50th class reunion for which Cardinal provided the 2 cakes, one white and one chocolate. They were wonderful. Often bakery cakes are so heavily laden with frosting that they are sickening sweet to the point that your teeth actually ache. These were of a very light texture , and just right. There was cake left over and I brought a few pieces home for my guys, but I regret not grabbing even more. From now on my go to places for cake are still Vincent's Italian cream or rum cake and this newly found Cardinal. Thanks to them . Well done. read more

The final coffee of 2020 for myself was yesterday evening at cardinal cakes and coffee! This is a relatively new bakery/coffee shop in the cutest little building in Copley. I visited towards the end of the day, so most of the bakery was gone, including the jumbo cinnamon rolls that they specialize in! But I got a fabulous raspberry stuffed croissant I ended up eating to ring in the new year. They have quite a simple menu drink wise, with plenty of cold brew flavors, and hot coffee. I got a cinnamon cold brew with oat milk and it was the perfect end of the year drink. If you ever find yourself in the Copley/Akron area, this is a must try. read more

I love this place more than anyone should, to be honest. I love the cold brew, but I especially love the muffins and cinnamon buns. Oh, and the pecan sticky buns! The employees are always friendly and answer any questions I have about the food. The apple muffins are my favorite - there's pieces of sliced apple in the caramel apple muffins and one other type (I can't remember which flavor). They're so good. The cupcakes are good, too! The rustic decor is a nice touch, as well. I work nearby and I'm addicted to this place. I can't wait to try what's next. read more

Wonderful coffee shop/bakery! I was so excited to try this place when it opened, and have been there several times since. It has been great to see them expand so much - I love to see local places thrive. Their baked goods are delicious and the smell when you walk in is heavenly. They have a full coffee menu with rotating speciality seasonal drinks and multiple non-dairy milk options. My oat milk cappuccino was incredible! You can sit inside or at a couple of small tables outside, or take your treats to go. I recommend the cinnamon rolls (they're huge and so good!) and the cake in a cup but you really can't go wrong with anything. read more

First visit this morning at this newly opened bakery and coffee shop. Excellent service! Fresh homemade pastries and delicious hot coffee. If I would have had more time, I would have sat outside at one of their tables. Brought some pastries and coffee home. By the time I received my food and coffee, there was a line of 6 people outside the door. It's been my experience that if there is any type of line, the food must be good. That was spot-on thinking for Cardinal Cakes and Coffee! Loved the almandine croissant and house blend coffee. Spouse said his cinnamon roll was amazing. Staff was working very hard and efficient. This is a top-notch coffee shop with lots of beautifully displayed & tasty bakeries! Whether you are looking for just a cup of joe, a muffin, or a breakfast sandwich & are in the area of Sawmill Run/Copley Circle it is worth the stop. I love their croissant & muffins! It is clean, the staff are friendly & efficient. There are tables outside in nice weather to enjoy your treats & tables inside too. The only downside is parking gets tight when the other stores in the complex open. But stopping at the Acorn Vitamin Shop, the Fair Trade Store or Beau's Market & Deli is also fun. read more

The perfect cozy bakery and coffee shop! I am fortunate to have Cardinal Cakes close to my work, because I am coming here multiple times a week! The service is always stellar and prompt. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu, but some of my favorites are their chocolate avalanche croissants and their maple cinnamon rolls. The croissants remind me of the ones you would find in France. Their coffee menu changes with the seasons but you can still get your favorites and they are always good! There is a nice area inside where you can sit down and enjoy your coffee and pastry. Parking is plentiful with a gravel overflow lot just to the left of their building. Cardinal Cakes & Coffee is definitely worth stopping by at least once but you'll probably end up becoming a regular, it's just that good! read more

We love Cardinal Bakery's pastries, coffees, and also their service. We had an event at our business recently, and they went out of their way with the cupcakes we ordered, even copied the colors of our logo for the icing. Their friendly personell is doing an outstanding job. Nice people running this bakery. Not a large selection of pastries when I visited. Seems more like breakfast treats like scones, cinnamon rolls and muffins. I was hoping for cupcakes but selection was limited to three types that looked interesting. They did have trays of cookies for Christmas. I purchased a croissant with cream and strawberries. There wasn't much fruit in the pastry but cream was good as was the croissant. Might try them again after the holidays. read more

This is the cutest coffee and bake shop around! We were staying in Fairlawn while visiting the National Park and THANKS to Yelp we found Cardinal Cakes and Coffee! They had some specialty coffees available, including great fall flavors, but we are kind of boring when it comes to coffee so we just ordered a hot House Blend and a cold brew. The baked goods...where should I begin! There are cases filled with baked goodness! Cupcakes, scones, rolls, everything! We left with a raspberry lemon scone, a pecan roll (that was still warm), an iced cinnamon roll and my favorite...the extreme chocolate croissant. I wish I would've gotten a plain croissant as well because the croissant itself was the perfect texture and had the best buttery taste. The taste and texture was just as phenomenal as croissants I've had in France! We visited at 8 AM on a Saturday just as they were opening. There was a handful of people but no crazy line. If they would have been open on Sunday, we would have been back! The service was great the girls work in the counter were very friendly and the price point was reasonable.
